We've done both.....thinking of driving this year. Just curious to see what most people from this area do.:D

Live in PA and we only fly. I have no desire to drive that far and waste days driving when I could be there in a little over 2 hours.

Drive!! We live off I-83, about 10 miles over the Md. line.
Used to always fly, but last 5 trips we drove. Can't stand the hassle at the airports any more. The extra days don't bother us, plus we have the car at our disposal while at WDW. Also allows for some side trips down and back.
Of course, you'll need to time things to get around DC w/o major headaches---.

We have done both. I prefer to fly and be there in 2 hours. We fly out of BWI though Harrisburg would be closer, no direct flights. I usually shop around for the best airfares and then we rent a car if we are there for an extended visit.

Leaving in 5 days and going with Air Tran this trip. First flight with them.

We're taking the very first SWA flight out of BWI. This will be our first flight out of BWI and our first time with SWA. We considered driving a few times but our kids are at the "are we there yet?" stage and didn't want to subject ourselves to that! Also, we calculated how much it would be to fly vs drive and with hotel on the way down and back, meals, gas, rental car...there wouldn't be much difference. Our sanity is worth the extra $100 or so!!

thanks for the replies.....we've flown the last two times......was very convenient. our drive is about 15 hours (without stopping). it would cost the 5 of us about $800 with southwest out of bwi. i also like the idea of having our car while there. hard to decide which way to go this time.

w8ting4pooh, i didn't receive a PM.:D

I sent it to padisneyfan. I put that part in the subject line. Sorry for the confusion. :D
