Mickeystoontown's Cheers to 40 years! 18 days, 10 park days, 2 parties and a lot of fun! Updated 5/27

How very generous you and John are. Your kids and their spouses are very lucky!

Awww, we didn't have a whole lot when we were growing up. We weren't poor but I am sure that our parents didn't have a whole lot extra which is why we went camping, on road trips, etc. when we were growing up. If we can help the kiddos out a bit, we want to bless them!

Hi!!! 👋 Following along. My husband and I stayed at POP a year ago. We liked it because of the Skyliner but Riviera is my favorite.

Follow the signs they said. It won't take long they said.

For some reason, John and I always forget that our package includes mini-putt passes. We had plenty of time to spare before our dinner reservations so we decided to make use of those passes. We popped in the room and freshened up a bit and then headed back to the Skyliner station. We took the Epcot route and then took a right instead of going left into the park. We were going to Fantasia Gardens where we had been before. When we visited before, we took the boat from Hollywood Studios to the Swan and Dolphin and walked. Since then, the Skyliner was built and it seemed like getting there would be easier if we walked. We started towards the Boardwalk and walked alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way around

Hi!!! 👋 Following along. My husband and I stayed at POP a year ago. We liked it because of the Skyliner but Riviera is my favorite.
Hey! I'm glad to have ya! We didn't care too much for Pop when we stayed there but we had some extenuating circumstances that caused us to be ready to transfer over to CBR. Let's just say that our son realized how hard it would be to live with his then-girlfriend in a small space. (they broke up almost immediately after returning home). I would love to stay at the Riviera! We could swing it but our trips are longer and I need that extra money to pay for a longer stay.

As we got closer to the Swan and Dolphin and whatever the name of the new resort is...the name escapes me right now, we had other people walking along with us and they were saying "Follow the signs they said. It won't take long they said". John and I didn't mind the walking and we had all the time in the world but it was obvious that these other folks were ready for the walk to be over with.

When we got there, the courses were pretty busy. There were a couple of cast members working the desk and they asked us which course we wanted. At the same time, we said whichever one was less busy. They laughed and the older gentleman said "you don't know how hard the harder course is" to which I replied, "it doesn't matter, we cheat anyway". Everybody except him laughed. Oops, he took his job seriously. Okay, we will wait for the easier course. Our wait was about ten minutes and we were called up.

We rented points from DVC Rentals and stayed five nights. Then did two nights at SSR. The time before we stayed at AKL Jambo. We paid for standard view but could still see the animals. It was nice too.

Nice! I have some people staying at AKL in June in a savanna room and they are super excited!

Boy do I feel Tabitha's pain. All of these cuts to education and grants is making it scary to come to work every day. Add in I work in the arts and well... Right now, we are doing ok but I fear for everything as we go further into this rabbit hole.

And, if you aren't cheating at mini golf, are you even playing??? Dear kind CM, relax. It's mini golf, not brain surgery.

Lots of trip planning drama. I'm glad you worked it out. We've helped out all 3 of kids for trips to Disney and still help them. We just want to be together in our Magic Place.

We tried to do Fantasia Golf in July but the timing wasn't right. Maybe someday. It looks so cute.

As you know, I'll be checking in on Thanksgiving. My plan was to make a reservation at the resort for dinner. For Thanksgiving, do they open up dining reservations sooner than sixty days?

No m'am. We'll have to duke it out with others trying to snag something good. We are going to try for Via Napoli at Epcot.

Thankfully, Tabitha's job seems secure right now which is a true blessing!

You sound like us...we want them to go so we help pay for them to go. It's a mama thing that can't be helped.

Sorry for the longish break, it's been busy at work at at home.

I sucked at this hole! I could not hit it in the mouth of the alligator for nothin'. The guests in front of us couldn't either so I didn't feel so bad about sucking.

Wellllll, I had another big gap in between the last update and this one. As always, I've got an excuse...same one as before...life. Yeah, this crazy thing called life. Every time I saw that, I think of this:

Life.jpg

My family gets tickled at me because I make everything into a song. I even have a shirt that says "I don't always sing...oh wait yes I do" As I always say, it's better to sing my cares away that worry about my cares.

Anyway, we've been working hard at getting things done around the house both inside and out. One of our chickens turned "broody" which means they wanna be a mama. She wouldn't come out of the nest, was squawking at me and pecking me so she got the name of "Broodella Deville". John said, just let her stay and give her some eggs. So, we put 10 under her and after 21 and 22 days, we had five little chicks. They are adorable! Keep your fingers crossed that I don't end up with five roosters.

We have started getting crops from the garden: Tomatoes, Squash, Green Beans, Peppers and Cucumbers so far. Yummy!

Paralegal and my side job have been really busy as well which is a blessing. Anyway, I've got a bit of time so get ready for an update or two.

Please sir, I want to smell the gingerbread and the chocolate!

We turned in our golf clubs and, since the walk back to the Beach Club was a little on the long side, we both stopped for a tinkle break. I came out and kept looking around for John. I walked to the side of the building and didn't see him. I walked to the other side and didn't see him. The place wasn't that big so where the heck was he? I kept a watch on the bathroom door and never saw him come out. Why didn't I call him? 'Cause the man didn't bring his phone with him. "It's too heavy and pulls my shorts down" is what he always says. I don't know why he doesn't just say that he doesn't like things in his pockets. After about 10 minutes, I look up and there he is, just standing there like he's been there the whole time. He said something or other about something and I didn't understand. It didn't really matter so why fuss about it? I didn't.

We crossed the road, went on Swolphin grounds, took a right and went towards Boardwalk,

IMG_6933.JPEG
Yacht Club and Beach Club. If anybody tells you that the walk is a short one, call BS 'cause it ain't so. Having said that, we don't mind walking so we were all good but if you ain't workin' on gettin' your steps in or don't want to walk for a while, you might want to take another means of transportation beside your feet.

When we got to the Beach Club, we decided to go in and see the chocolate/gingerbread displays and window shop.

Please sir, I want to smell the gingerbread and the chocolate! cont'd

I didn't take pictures but there was a stand over to the side where they were selling gingerbread cookies and I believe hot cocoa.

We also walked over to the store to have a look around but ended up coming out empty handed as we didn't see anything that we couldn't live without.

Not far from the store were restrooms and we decided to pop in just in case the line at the Skyliner took longer than expected or we got stuck in the air. No, we have never gotten stuck but I know people who did and I don't want to be put into a situation where I gotta pee in an emergency cup in front of other people hanging in a gondola in the sky.

I notice all the weird, odd, standouty kind of things and it was in the restroom that I saw how shoddy of a repair job someone had done on the bathroom stall door.

IMG_6936.JPEG

I mean, come on, this is a deluxe resort and you're going to do a crappy repair job? You can do better than that!

We left the resort and continued our walk over to the Skyliner station where we pretty much walked right onto an empty Skyliner and we had one all to ourselves. I guess that would have been a plus had we gotten stuck and I had to pee in an emergency cup. :rotfl2:

Up Next: Dinner and a drunk dude

PhotoPass picture catch-up continued

We wandered around the park where we took in the dance party, saw the ice skaters. met some of the rarer characters (I'll have to find those pictures.) and had a grand time. The cast members were so interactive with the guests, the guests all seemed happy and it was truly Jolly! Everywhere we went, people were complimenting us on our outfits. We aren't the dress up kinda people so it was pretty fun dressing up to the nines and getting paid compliments.

I didn't take a lot of pictures because I had to take off my lace gloves in order to take a picture and I was doing some live Facebook videos for my business. I will have to make sure that I take more when we go in November 2025.

I'll be honest with you, the second annual Jollywood Nights was way more organized and fun than the first one. The first one was fun but we left saying "well that was a one and done", but I'm so glad that we gave it another chance because we enjoyed ourselves immensely and I believe the other guests did to. I have already started planning what we'll wear when we go in November of this year. I'll probably reuse some of what I wore in 2024 but the dress, shoes, jewelry, etc. will all be new.

By the time the party was over, we started out of the park along with tons of other folks. We were given some champagne flavorted marshmellows in a box as a souvenir. Kinda cheap souvenir and one that you won't be able to keep but I guess it's the thought that counts.

The Skyliner was not running so we had to take the bus back to Caribbean Beach. The resort is so close that we'd probably be able to walk back (not that I would ever do that or advise anyone to do that....I'm just saying it's that close) so the ride was super fast. WE made it back to our room and I took one last picture before we put up the fancy schmancy close and turned in for the night.

**Up next: Burgers and Pop Art!
These photo pass photos with y’all dressed up - perfection! Love these so much!

PhotoPass pictures continued.............NOT! I thought that I had a few more Epcot PhotoPass pictures but turns out that I don't so let's move on to the real update:

Burgers and Pop Art!

When I bought our Jollywood Nights tickets and when planning our days, I knew that we'd want to use today as a down day. A day where we could sleep in and do whatever we wanted. We slept late and sat around trying to decide if we wanted to eat at the resort or go explorin'. We chose explorin', but, first, we had to get something to eat. We decided to go to Disney Springs and find a counter service. We were pretty sure we knew where we were going but not
100% yet.

We walked over to the bus stop and I took my first picture of the day at 12:36 p.m.

View attachment 960889

Just a few minutes later, a bus pulled up and we had it all to ourselves:

View attachment 960890

I took the picture above at 12:41 p.m. so I wasn't kidding when I said just a few minutes later.

I snapped one picture of us on an empty bus. I don't know if I have a picture of my shirt but it was a retro style shirt of Kermit the Frog and I made a custom pair of ears to match. I'm going to see if I can screenshot a picture of the shirt from my Etsy purchases. The seller doesn't sell on Etsy anymore so the picture is blurry because it's so tiny.

During the drive, the final decision on where we would be having lunch was made. We were going to D-Luxe Burger. If you haven't eaten there before, you should! The portions are big and the food is so good. Bonus that it is a counter service credit.

Y'all are probably going to think we are crazy but we had lunch, stopped in the World of Disney and left. Whaaaaat? Yep, we left. All we did in Disney Springs is eat and shop for maybe a half hour. We were looking for something to take back to John's parents and to our kids. We bought a couple of mugs and that was it. We decided to drop those off at the resort and then take the Skyliner over to Art of Animation and Pop Century.

Bus luck was on our side again and one pulled up right as we got to the bus stop. We got off at our stop, dropped our bags and walked over to the Skyliner station. At 2:24 p.m., we were at Art of Animation and I was snapping pictures to send to some people who were staying there soon:
