Hi to all.....Joanne, Bev etc.<p>What a nice group of "dissers" you all are. It is so much fun sharing in the excitement of our upcoming trip. You all will be doing the Disney Dance before we arrive (12-1)....we are slowly arriving by car from Indiana...one overnight. But with "retirement" comes time. And we do enjoy doing a few things "off Disney". I'm enjoying reading where you all will be and what priority seatings you all have. We too are booked with everything we wanted. The tour we are taking is the 7 hour "Backstage" Tour that does MGM, EPCOT, and MK with a big family style lunch at Mama Rosas for the entire group...could be 2 or 20????? I am so looking forward to this.....we have been to Disney 6 times so this will be the first where we get to go behind the scenes.....plus it's not alot of walking...they drive you to the various areas in a van and we go unseen by the public.<p>My goal was to book things we've never done before....thus the Grand Tea at the Floridian, the Backstage Tour, MVMCP, and eating at Bomas. I have my Home Depot Mickey and will attach some ribbons. Actually, I think you all sound like Martha Stewart clones what with your glueing, decorating and designing. Did she cover "Home Depot Mickey" in one of her books? haha <p>Keeping my fingers crossed that none of you are going to see problems from the hurricane. Thanks for posting your thoughts....keep it up. It sure keeps me inspired and filled with anticipation.<p><MARQUEE><font size=+2 color=red <marquee> ºoº..."Micki" and Mike are going to DisneyWorld...ºoº</MARQUEE><p><p>

Taking my two DDs, ages 6 and 7, for their first trip ever to WDW. My DH and I are more excited than the girls. Have MVMCP ressies for Dec 2 and numerous Character meals booked including breakfast at Cindy's and the Norway princess breakfast. We are staying at POR and think that MVMCP will be one of the many highlights of our trip. Dinner is booked at Chef Mickey's prior to the big event. What are the lime ribbons for? Obviously I'm new to the boards!

Hi

Welcome to the DisBoards! You will have a blast!!!

The lime green ribbons indicate DisBoard posters.

Jonsmom (a.k.a. Joanne)

Sounds like you have some really great things booked. We to are trying to do things that we've never done. Like MVMCP, I've been to Fantasmic but DH hasn't so that will be new for him. We have late lunch ressies at 50's Prime Time then to Fantasmic for the 6:00 show. We're thinking of doing a carriage ride either at POFQ or FW. Sounds like fun, also massages at GF. But haven't booked any of it yet. Guess I'm procrastinating!! Just don't know why. Also haven't made ressies for Le Cellier yet. That's a MUST food there is delicious - at least I think. Oh retirement, I'm counting the days til that will happen. Hubbys is already there, I figure about 2 more years and then get a part time job for a few years until I can collect SS.
Will be hitting HD tomorrow to look for Lime Green Mickey heads, now that I know what I'm looking for.
Can't wait to see how many Disers we can bump into.
Especially you and Joanne! Really looking forward to that meet.

Welcome to Disboards. You'll become addicted like the rest of us, it's so much fun sharing your excitement with others that will be at Mickey's house the same as you. Wait til your girls see Cinderella's Castle for the first time. When I went with my two granddaughers a few years ago it brought tears to my eyes to see how excited they got walking up Main Street. I can remember those same tears of joy when my own daughters saw it for the first time. Do you have dinner ressies for MVMCP, if so where and what time? We'll be looking for you. It will be such a great time.

Now we know where everyone will be and what ressies we have so far. So, let's start a new question......I've never been to LeCellier for diinner.....has anyone looked at the menu and decided just what they will order? Also the buffet at Crystal Palace...anything not to be missed?

I've been to Le Cellier and it is one of the best meals I've had in Disney. I got the filet mignon with red wine sauce and it's simply scrumptous!!!! Can't wait to go there again. I'm thinking of Thursday 12/4 as there'll be a MVMCP and perhaps EPCOT won't be so crowded!!!! We'll also do Illuminations that night. Just my thinking. Haven't been to CP for years and certainly didn't have a buffet there last time I was there. So can't help you on that. I think Joanne has been - so what's good there Joanne any hints? Well I'm off to grocery shop and try HD for those Lime Green Mickey heads.

Hi

We have never eaten @ at a sit-down restaurant in Epcot. We were there last year for CP but ate in the America counter service place. Just burgers, turkey sandwiches, that kinda stuff.

One it gets dark at Epcot - its dark! I had a hard time seeing along the walkway. Maybe it was just me. I think it needs to be a bit lighter.

I am looking forward to LeCellier. Teppanyaki would have been my second choice.

I am exhausted. We were up @ 6:30 am for soccer/soccer pictures. I feel like I have been up all day already.

Good luck finding those Mickey Heads!

Joanne

I knew Jonathan was a man after my heart. Soccer you say. I used to coach soccer. I used to be on the soccer board here in Whitman and also secretary of the South Shore Soccer League. Of course this was years ago when my girls played. My middle daughter also played for the high school varsity team and then in college. Love the game.
FOUND the Mickey heads - had no trouble. Felt a bit funny just going into HD for them and nothing else. Now I'm on a mission to try and find lime green and white check ribbon for my Mickey head..... Wonder if I can do it. Thought it would be cute with a little bow on it??????? We'll see. Don't think hubby would like a bow on his. While I was out I got a little bit of Christmas shopping done also. My aim is to have it all done by Thanksgiving. Have presents I have to wrap and send to one daughter and her family in Mississippi.
Yes, this board sure is growing compared to the others. I guess we all just like to talk as well as have a whole bunch of enthusiasm. Do you have ressies for 12/2 MVMCP where are you eating????

Not sure if your asking me because....

I posted it a few pages back......We have PS at CP for 5:15.

We just love the place, thought it would be perfect for MVMCP.

Yes, I think were all excited.

My plan is to have all trees and deco. up and gifts bought and wrapped before we leave, other than special presents that we will buy in the world. A big plan, yes, I know, but I figure if I start tomorrow ;) I should be O-Kay!!!

Yup, I was asking you. I might have read it, but don't remember - having a hard time keeping everyone's ressies straight - mine included..... I just can't wait, this is our first time in the world at Christmas time. I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas. I'm so excited about going. Checking it our to possibly take the grandkids next year. We've gone in August and Sept. Loved Sept. Not crowded and still warm so the kids could swim.
That's my plan too to have everything done for Christmas before we leave. Except for some special things that will be bought there.
Has you or anyone else eaten at Whispering Canyon for supper. Is it worth it or should we do breakfast there? Any other good places to recommend????

Hi Bev

My husband commented last week that I was officially a soccer mom now. Kinderclass only runs 4 weeks. One hour. Plenty of time to introduce them. There must be 100 kids on the field. I was surprised to see that Opening Day Soccer parade outnumbered Opening Day Baseball. Go figure.

You brave woman - going to Home Depot on a Saturday!

I may just glue a couple of Mickey Heads to my backpack - though I may not take that for just a few hours. I may go to Joanne's Fabric's for ribbon. I will have to think of something.

I started shopping back in August but only got a couple of things and havent been out much since. . I like to buy stuff @ BJ's when I get a chance. I cant really think of anything to get for Jonathan for a big gift for Christmas. His birthday is in November so I have to think of a number of things. I got him a pair of Stitch Pajamas and Buzz pajamas for his birthday so he can wear them to WDW. He'll be thrilled. He shares a birthday with Mickey Mouse - November 18th.

Gotta run for dinner.

Joanne

sanilacjack gave me a good idea about hot glueing a pin to the back of the Mickey Heads found at HD. Michaels and AC Moore (craft shops) have wooden discs and if you cut the Mickey Head paint swatch out and glue it to a wodden disc and then glue the pin to the back of the disc you've got one pretty nice Mickey Lime Green Head! Thanks to Sanilacjack for the idea!
Will have to get to the craft shop to get the discs and pins.
Does anyone know if they'll be having fireworks on Saturday night 11/29? Also I'd like to possibly make ressies for Cinderellas Castle for Sunday Dec. 7 around 5:00 or so, but will not be staying for the MVMCP - Can we do that without tickets to the party?????

HD wasn't too bad for a Saturday morning. Found the heads with no problem. Thought I'd have to hunt a bit but there they were just jumping out at me.
I love going to BJ's. Can never come out of there without spendin alot of money. Always find something to buy ???? Well lots of somethings.....
A 4 week soccer program out instructional league runs for two months. They are so cute at that age. We call them swarm of bees they're all were ever the ball is... So cute. One of my 6 year old grandsons also plays soccer.
Went apple picking today in E. Bridgewater with a few of the grandchildren. Had such a great time and got lots of apples. Will have to start baking apple pies and what not.......

Bev-did you go to CN Smith for apples? I did that a few years ago lots of fun. Such perfect weather for it.

We had a busy busy day. CCD, mass and then home to throw in laundry and off to a playdate.

Jon works Sundays now so he gets home around 4:30pm. Too late to go apple pickin. Love making apple crisp too.

Jon has Mondays & Tuesdays off and last week spent $637 on repairs to his truck and two days of driving back/forth now its doing the same thing. We are not very happy. Tomorrow we have to head back over to Norwood to drop if off and hopefully pick it up Tuesday. I am furious. I will be on the phone @7am demanding a rental thats for sure.

Did you ask in a previous post if fireworks were 11/28. Most definitely. Thepark is open til 10pm that night according the park hours though last year it was open til 11pm. We will be there that night.

Talk to you later,
Joanne

Joanne, Yes we went to CN Smiths had never been there a bit crowded but fun. Got lots of apples. Now I'll have to bake!!!
We have ressies for Concourse Steakhouse on Saturday 11/29 and I was wondering if MK would be having fireworks that night. As we'd probably stop there to see them on our way back from the Contemporary. We have annual passes so it doesn't make any difference if we just stop to see them. Also I had asked if we went into the park on 12/7 (Sunday) just for dinner at the castle would we need a MVMCP ticket if we had ressies for 5:00 and left right after eating. I've been on line but can't seem to find any hours for December parks.
How's the weather there? It's torrential downpours and very windy here! Think it is left over of from Isabel!!!!!
How did you make out with Jons car????
You had better wear something lime green so we all can spot you! We'll have quite a little group! Our pages on this board are by far the longest. I guess we're all justs a bunch of gabbers!!!!!!

Hi Bev

Yes....it was pouring buckets today & the wind....we didnt even have gusts like that last week when Isabel was blowing through.

The truck.......ugh........another $130....countless telephone calls, etc. Another part replaced. I did speak with my credit card company and if the second attempt doesnt fix the problem, we can dispute it. After two days of taking it for test drives to try to duplicate the problem he is having (another problem) they couldnt duplicate it. However, 5 miles up the road, he was able to duplicate it, which leads me to believe they full of **#?! We could only laugh at this point. Of course it couldnt come at a worse time (not that there is ever a good time) with Jon having been out of work for a week, our trip coming up and having decided to send my parents to WDW in December.

Anyway...on to your question, they will definitely have fireworks on the 29th. Check www.disneyworld.com for park hours. They are updated through the end of November. December's should be out by mid-October. Last year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving the park was opened til 11:00 even though the schedule read 10:00. Thats what I am hoping for. We are headed to AK for the first time on Saturday and then over to Bomas' for dinner, then over to MK. I know it will be extremely crowded, but thats okay.

On the 7th, I dont see why you would not be able to have dinner at the castle. You will avoid the 6pm crush leaving the park.

Talk to you soon,
Joanne

I'm sure it will be crowded too. But that's more or less the same as our plan. We fly in around 2:30 and will probably arrive at the hotel around 4:00 and hopefully right into the room. A quiet supper at Concourse Steakhouse (already have the ressies) at 6:30 and hopefully we can make the fireworks at MK and then head back to the hotel. Or perhaps just watch the fireworks from the beach of the GF. That would also be nice. Sunday will be our first day we'll go into MGM late morning and do some of the rides and what not and then a late lunch (have ressies) at 50's Prmie Time and do Fantasmic. I read somewhere that the show would be at 6:00 in Dec. Maybe we'll do DTD after Fantasmic and get ice cream at Ghiradeli's (not sure of spelling) mmmmm my mouth is watering now!!!
Finally called today and made ressies for Le Cellier for Thursday, 12/4 for 6:30 had no problem getting them. We'll try to catch the CP at 5:00 that night. If not well we will have a good excuse to go back some other time.......
Will be calling Disney again to make ressies for massages at GF. Have to call the spa directly. Gotta get the number from my girlfriend. She just got back to work today from spending a week there. Had a blast!
Well suppers ready talk to you soon.

I just booked out tickets for December 2nd. It's our first time so we're very excited to see what it's all about. See you there.
