Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party~~December 2nd

Hi all,

We're also going to at MVMMCP on 12/2! Although we are DVC members, we have never been down during December and are really looking forward to it! We are also doing CP dinner package (Le Cellier) on 12/3.

Since are kids are older (2 boys, 12+14) and characters aren't a priority, we decided to get a lunch rerservation on 12/2 at LTT. We'll go to the park in the morning, break for lunch, watch the pm parade, then take the monorail over to GF to have drinks and see decorations, then back to MK for the event!

I can't believe how many Massachusetts people will be there!

Have a great trip everyone!:D

Hi everyone...I'm new to this thread. We (me, DH, and DS4) are doing MVMCP on 12/2, and made ressies at CP for 5:25, but only because I saw everyone else here making ressies for CP or LTT for around that time. Forgive me, I haven't read all 7 pages on this thread......why are we all going to these restaurants at this time? Is it so we don't have to leave MK before MVMCP? Was 5:25 a good time to get? And are POOH and the gang there for dinner? (we've been there for breakfast before).
Thanks for the info.......can't wait for this trip!!!!!!!

Some are also going to Tony's and the Castle. I can only speak for myself but since I have to eat any way, I might as well get to MK early and eat and be in the park when the party starts. My PS is for 5:15p. That gives me enough time to eat and enjoy my dinner and be ready to go right before 7:00p.

Yes, Pooh and friends are there for dinner!

Hi

Well......I made an early reservation (4:30) so that we can get into the park early and finish dinner early so that we don't miss any festivities. You don't want to miss anything. MVMCP is so much fun and definitely magical.

Pooh & the gang are there for dinner. Like I said, we arent going for the characters, but I think their food is delish. We were unable to go last year because CP was closed.

I first had LTT ressies and cancelled. I was going there primarily because it was the only place taking ressies and Donald & Daisy wer going to be there. Now it is my undrstanding that if they are busy, the substitute with Mice. No thanks.

Have a great time!

Jonsmom

Hi Jonsmom, how have you been? Glad to hear you got your ressies changed. We also have ressies for CP for 5:05. I'll be looking for you. I just can't wait for this!!! It's like a dream coming true going down at Christmas time to see all the decorations and Christmas shows. Do we need to leave the park and come back in or just what will happen. How do they know we have MVMCP tickets if we're at dinner????

Hi Bev

So glad to hear from you. Our PS for CP is early - 4:30, but that's okay with me.

When you enter the gates you present you MVMCP ticket and they put a green bracelet on your wrist. You won't go out and come back in. Too much chaos as it is with everyone emptying out the park. They corral everyone into Tomorrowland. Last year we got in line immediately to have our photo taken. It was great. It came 2 weeks later.

Are you getting ready for Isabel? I am going shopping on Tuesday and buying a few extra things - not alot if we lose power it wouldnt do us any good. I am worried about the trees around us in close proximity to our house. Even if we dont get a direct hit, which doesnt appear so, we will get lots of wind and rain, thats for sure.

Joanne

Our reservation is at 5:05 - hope to see you there. Hopefully we can get our picture done also before it gets too crowded.
Good to know thanks for the heads up on showing our tickets upon entering the park. Wouldn't have even thought about doing that. Was thinking of going in after lunch and doing a few rides before dinner. I just want to concentrate on getting to see the shows - Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas and Diamond Horse Show along with the Bear Jamboree then the fireworks and will probably try to make the late parade - if we're still awake!!!
Yup I'm thinking about Isabelle coming and I think we'll get some sort of brunt from it. I've got (I hope) enough batteries and candles to weather out the storm just in case. Have to get some of that good old "junk food" in the house, have plenty of healthy food here already. I really pity the people in the Carolinas and DC areas. My Godchild lives in Maryland - just outside DC. She's also starting to gather stuff for the storm. Her mom is quite concerned.
How's Jon doing in school?

HI Bev

Jonathan is doing great in school. Today was actually the first time the school bus picked him up before school started. That's a good sign.

If you go into the park early in the afternoon, keep in mind, you will have to use a park admission. Seems kinda wasteful if you are can go in for 4pm. Know what I mean.

Last year and this year we usually plan on sleeping in, enjoying the pool or resort-hopping to check out the decorations in the resorts. GF is a must see!

Joanne

Joanne, Glad to hear Jon loves school and going on the bus is alot of fun for them. Scarey at first but they seem to adapt quickly and love it. My 6 yr old grandson (1st grader) coudn't understand why he couldn't have seconds at lunch the first day he bought it!!!
We have annual passes so going in early wouldn't really make a difference to us. When I say early I mean around 1:00 or so. Our plane tickets were free - reward miles and we have annual passes so with the annual pass discount and no plane fare and no ticket costs we're staying at the GF for 10 days. From what I've heard they really do it up at Christmas time. Can't wait to see it. Where are you staying? I'm trying to decide which night to do Le Celier and whether to do a PS package for the CP. I think I'd like to try for the 5:00 CP at EPCOT without reservations - have a later dinner and stay for Illuminations. I'd like to take a few days and just have nothing planned - do whatever sparks our interests. See some of the other hotels all decorated - shop at DTD. Even perhaps rent a car or take a cab to the Disney Outlet Store. Haven't quite decided on that yet. There just seems to be so much to do and even with 10 days not enough time.

<p>Hi everyone, Can an Indiana Hoosier join the MA crowd? So good to see all who I might be rubbing shoulders with at the parade, dinner, Mickey shows, or shoveling Main Street snow. We will be looking for all of you...do wear your lime green Home Depot Mickeys. Great idea about adding a ribbon to it to make it even more noticeable.<p>We are eating at CP at 4:25 (I'm going to have an eye out for a little red headed sweetiepie Joanne)......After making several PS's, leaving some free days, and getting excited about the Grand Tea at the Floridian.....I'm beginning to think that at my age, 62, food is the really exciting element along with the pixie dust feelings.....it certainly isn't the THRILL rides that gets me too excited. I recently read a board where they wanted to know what was your favorite dessert at WDW.....wow....I'm drooling already. That's why I'm doing Atkins now :p Any other Dec. 2nd MVMCP goers have something exciting to recommend? Grand Tea for hubby is only going to be possible because he heard he can get a beer and a slice of cake...haha.<p><MARQUEE><font size=+2 color=red <marquee> ºoº..."Micki" and Mike are going to DisneyWorld...ºoº</MARQUEE><p><p><center>

C4241 from KC03
Just had to register here at work so I could answer your email. Of course you're more than welcome to join us MA people. The more the merrier. I'm looking forward also to trying to find everyone- especially Joanne and Jonathan, and also it would be so nice to have another couple our age to look for. Like you our biggest interests are NOT the WILD rides more like eating and the shows and lazing around the pool - hopefully we can catch some good rays before we have to return home to shovel! We like the calmer rides.
Although I may not have a lime green Mickey I will have a lime green ribbon on my backpack.
This is our first trip down the the Kingdom at Christmas time and I'm so excited about it. How about you have you been there at this time of year before? Our reservations for Dec. 2 are also at CP at 5:05. We're not doing the Grand Tea, but thinking of massages at the GF.

Have you thought about doing a tour? We're doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour on Friday, Dec. 5, @ 9:30 - it's 58.00 pp and includes lunch is approximately 4 - 5 hours long. They say its a great tour and a must..... Also friends are leaving today and they are doing a carriage ride from Fort Wilderness - it's 1/2 hour for 30.00. Sounds like fun and could be a bit romantic.... from KC03

Hi Bev Conway!

Welcome to "our party". Where are you from?

I need to get myself over to Home Depot and get the Lime Green Mickey's Head. What a great idea. I am not sure which person thought of adding a ribbon to the Mickey's head and "hot gluing' a pin to it. I am not that crafty. I will think of something.

Now to our ages - I am 46 and hubby is 38 (way to go!). Jonathan will be 6 at the time of our arrival. He shares his birthday with Mickey Mouse - November 18th. I am lucky that I did all the wild rides years ago - I am not that much of a daredevil anymore. Neither is my hubby. Jonathan had us ride Astro Oribter last year and I screamed louder than anyone on the ride. I thought i was falling out! My son loves the rides that he can control and think he is scaring you, like Astro Orbiter, Dumbo, Aladdin's Carpet Ride. But WDW is about the magic -not the rides. That's how I feel. Christmas is definitely a magical time to visit.

C4241 is doing a tour - I don't remember which one though (sorry Micki - its hard to for me to remember my own itinerary LOL). Not the one you mentioned.

We'll see you on the 2nd!

Jonsmom (a.k.a) Joanne

Hi! I am brand spankin' new to the bb here. I wasn't sure where to start so I figured since my family and I will be at the MVMCP on 12/2 I would start here. I am a stay at home mommy with my DS, 2 1/2, and a wonderful DH who loves disney just as much as I do. This will be DS's 2nd trip. I have been many, many times. I have never been at christmas time and am very excited. We will be there Nov 30 to Dec 7. We are staying at the Allstar Sports because the Movies AP rates were all taken. But that's ok because I know we are going to have a fantastic time. Any advice for must do's during the party and special christmas type things would be greatly appreciated! I am just so excited, I can hardly wait!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hi Joanne, you asked who and where Bev Conway was from - that's me. I was at work and wanted to reply to C4241 and had to register from my computer at work. I'm not a wild ride person either. Broke down a few years ago and went on Thunder Mountain with my kids and grandkids. I screamed the entire way. My granddaughter who was 6 at the time kept telling me it was ok don't be afraid!! Imagine from a 6 year old. Well I'm now 57 and will think twice about going on it. Hopefully we'll be going down next year with them all. And she wants me to go on it with her again!!! I'm getting too old for that!! I still am working and hubby is a retired and keeps active by playing golf twice a week.
I'm so looking forward to Disney at Christmas and looking for you, c4241, Beatty Family and anyone else that will be wearing Lime Green. Will have to get to Home Depot and look for those Mickey Heads. What dept are they in - do you know????? We're going to try to make Mickey's Twas the night before Christmas and the Diamond Horse Show Review - what should we head for first? Figure we'll do the other around the time of the first parade - maybe no so crowded. About 74 more days!!! Yippppeee. We've got a pretty full schedule while we'e there, but did manage to set two days aside with nothing planned but relax, relax, relax. One of my friends left yesterday to go down for a week. She's there now I'm sure thinking about going to Fantasmic tonight!! Lucky gal! So we've lucked out with Isabel - I feel really bad for the people down south! Looks like they're really in for it.

kc03...PM me your address if you want and I can send you some Lime Green Mickey Heads. I have a few extra. Hope to see you there!:p

Hi Bev-sorry I didnt make the connection to Bev Conway. I just read the part that you had to register to answer questions.

The Mickey Heads are in the paint section of Home Depot. They have a selection of Disney paints. The Mickey Heads are the paint color charts.

I beleive that "PM"message means private message. In their profile they may have listed their email. Cant be sure but think thats right.

Last year we did the 2nd parade. We were with some friends from Raynham whose kids went to preschool with Jonathan. They wanted to do the first parade, but I said "let's wait". We'll still be here @ 10:30. Of course, we didnt get back to the resort til 1:00am. but that's okay. We had a scheduled rest day the next day. GOtta do that with kids. Actually maybe its more for us.
The second parade was not crowded at all. We were right in front of the castle. No crowds. We rode the rides during the first parade with no waiting. My friend who has 4 kids, 3 of them six years old all rode the rides with Jonathan. It was a treat for all of us. Plus we helped her keep her kids corraled.

I think this year may be more crowded with the packages they are offering.

Are you leaving at the same time as me? Sorry if I asked you that before. We are leaving the day after Thanksgiving. I am getting confused with all this posting.

I laughed at your Thunder Mountain story. Jonathan is not a daredevel at all. He was terrified. I did a lot of screaming myself.

Talk to you soon,
Joanne

I'm on here while waiting for supper to cook. Jonathan is a man after my own heart! All my grandchildren love those wild rides! We're flying out of Logan on Saturaday , 11/29. We're staying at the Floridian I think you mentioned you'd like to come visit it. We'll have to set up a time as we'd like to do the tour and perhaps you can join us on that and swim or a while. I'm still trying to decide when to make reservations for Le Cellier. I'm thinking Thursday 12/4 as there is another MVMCP that night and perhaps EPCOT won't be so crowded - ha ha. I'm thinking alot will be joining us on 12/2 as this board seems to be very active for this date. Or we're all just a bunch of gabbers!!!! Or better yet I guess we are all just so enthusiastic!!!

I'll tell ya - its a wonder I get anything done at all here. I am always or as much as I possible can, reading these boards. There are also other boards I read as well.

I thought maybe we would be on the same flight. But not so. We are staying @ the Poly. We are there from 11/28 - 12/5.

My parents and brother, sister-in-law and neice are flying in on the 3rd. I made ressies @ the Poly so we can watch the fireworks.

The GF is so beautiful at Christmas. Ever see their tree and Gingerbread House. Goregous. Good place for a family photo. Last year we were in the gift shop & I had Jonathan put on those silly Goofy ears and took his picture in front of a lovely wreath in front of a window. But with the light streaming in from the wndow he was blocked out. This year we have a digital camera and we should be able to see this error.

I will have to check your profile for your email so I can send you a photo of us so you know who to look for.

talk to you soon,
Joanne
