Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party~~December 2nd

hi,
does it only snow on mainstreet during part of the evening, maybe just during the parade or beginning of the party? i think this will be so cool, and i would hate to be off doing something somewhere else and miss it:(
thanks
katypop:D

I don't know if it's all night but it's definitely at the beginning of the party and during both parades...I remember the wonderful festive atmosphere when I arrived at the park around 7:00p my first party in 2000 and walking down Main Street to get to the back of the park and the snow was on.

I have a vague memory of sitting on Main Street waiting for the second parade to start and hearing the snow makers kick on so maybe they are off between the parades??

thanks beattyfamily:D we will definately not want to miss the parade so we should be able to see the snowfall as well:D i can hardly wait.

Thanks for all the posts...they sure help a "newbe".

Now, could all you experienced party-goers let me know what your schedule for the event kinda looks like. I mean...after eating at LTT what was your plan? Is it better to do the second parade because some might leave early (with little kids??).

Also, what is the Candlelight Procession at EPCOT? I don't want to miss anything...will be at Disney for 10 days and want to do all things that we haven't in the past.......

Thanks for all the advice.

P.S. Forgot to ask what the meaning of the "lime green ribbon" is. Is it just to spot other web site members?

Also....might want to stop saying it won't be crowded on Dec. 2nd. I just check out some of the other dates and we are way ahead .... counting pages of folks "talking"..... haha

Is a 6:15pm LTT ressie too late? Seems like we will be eating when the party-ing starts......what to do??????? Thanks.

<<Have you ever tried the clambake @ The Beach Club?>>

We go to the Clam Bake at the Beach Club. The restaurant is located at is called Cape May Cafe. We love it there. We went 2 times our last trip which was just 2 weeks ago!! I love the steamed muscles....so tender. My husband likes the clams. All the food is good. If you are a vacation member you can get a discount.

We went to WDW last Christmas. It's so beautiful. Disappointed about no Osbourne lights though. MVMCP was great and our weather was wonderful. We did the Candlelight processional dinner package. We had dinner at Le Cellier which was wonderful. Only thing is that we sat in downpour rain for the Candlelight processional. We didn't get underneath the overhang near the stage because of being too late. We thought you only had to get there 15 minutes early. But I enjoyed it just the same. We will probably do the dinner package again, just have to decide on the restaurant.

BTW what is LLT restaurant at MK? Must be good because a lot of you are going there!!!

Sure looking forward and counting down. Pretty bad considering since we just got home!!! I LOVE DISNEY!! Beth

My sister Denise and I will be attending MVMCP and a 5:45pm dinner at LTT. Denise has been to DL once but never to WDW. I lost my husband to cancer in March after a 2yr and very courages battle on his part. During our in home hospice she never left my side and being a EMT was a tremendous help,so i'm treating her to a week at WDW and VWL. Susan

Poohs Pal,
i'm so sorry to hear of your loss {{{{HUGS}}}}

KatyPop and PoohsPal, {{{{HUGS}}}} to you both. I lost my DH just 2 1/2 weeks ago. We're still planning on being at MVMCP 12/2. Somehow it doesn't feel right, but I know it's the thing to do.

Don't want to dampen the spirit here.... Just looking forward to seeing some of you there! And maybe giving/getting some real hugs!!

House-of-princesses
Big HUGS. Well I guess if anyone see's 3 grown women(4 my ds will want a hug also) hugging and maybe tears at MVMCP its just us!!!!! I also wondered if it was the right thing to do,but I know it will be good for me. What could be wrong with going to the happiest place on earth. I'm actually looking forward to sharing my favorite part of WDW with my sister,walking down main street with the veiw of the castle. Susan

house_of_princesses, so sorry about your loss{{{{HUGS}}}}
we had planned on a trip to wdw 3 months after my dh passed away, and it was a very hard decision for dd and i to make , to decide if we should still go. we did go, and it was the right choice, we knew dh would have wanted us to go . we had only been once before and had fallen in love with wdw, so we had many happy memories of this first trip. i know in some ways it will be hard for you to do but i think that you will be glad you did.

Greetings and salutations... just got off the line with our wonderful friends at Disney, bought my ticket for Tuesday night and am VERY much looking forward to it! I considered not doing the Xmas party this year, mainly because I've done it many times... but then I thought, "Hey, wouldn't that be a reason not to go to Disney at all, silly boy?" Plus, once I found out the Osborne Light show would not be on display this year, I had to fill that void in my Holiday spirit with something... and what better than a night of Mickey Magic? It's funny how people will pay money to fly across the country, leaving the snow behind, and then get exicted by... um, the faux snow on Main Street. Count me in, and lovin' every minute of it! I'll take all the faux snow I can get, especially in this heat wave. Blizzard Beach? Summer Winterland Golf Course? The tundras of Epcot's Norway? I'm dreaming of a Disney Christmas!

Richard

The Lemke family will also be in attendance, so I'll be watching for those green Mickey Heads and ribbons!!!

We're going to have dinner at the castle at 5:30.

Hope to see you there!
Jo

Is there someplace one can get the green mickey heads or ribbons, or is it just a case of "make do with whatcha got." I may have failed Home Ec, but I'm willing to give it a shot, especially as I'm traveling solo and would welcome the opportunity to chat with some other websters. Several years ago, my pal Eric and I had dinner at Alfredo's in Epcot in the afternoon, met this really fun couple (who's name I can't remember for the life of me) and made arrangements to meet up later that night for the MVMCP and it was a blast!
