Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

I am planning a trip for December 1st. I have just started researching and I am sooo excited!! I was wondering if I should be concerned about the mvmcp booking up. Is this something I should reserve now? I will be there two nights that it is going on.
I was thinking about buying the party ticket and using it as my visit to the MK. Will I miss anything interesting during the day that I would need to buy a regular ticket for?

Just had to say what a beautiful bride you made! My DD is sitting here with me and LOVES your pictures. She's grinning from ear to ear!

oh thanks. I see she still has a few years to go, but it is never too late to start dreaming of a disney wedding!! Ours was fabulous-we couldn't have made a better decision on the location!

Ray...a quick question for you...are you doing a Tree Lighting on Dec 3?? It says that's the date but if I click on it, it says Dec 8. Just curious since I leave on Dec 4. Just ordered my MVMCP tickets today. Getting closer.

I'm sorry, I'll fix that link. Sometimes I get so confused.

Yes, I am doing a www.Tagrel.com community Epcot Tree Lighting Ceremony meet on the Saturday, December 3, 2005, and everyone is welcome. And on Thursday, December 8, 2004 I was going to hold a DIS Epcot Tree Lighting Ceremony meet and everyone is welcome.

I hope that you can make both of them.

Sincerely, Ray

Ray! We'll be at the tree lighting on Dec 3~ You better save me 5 primes spots up front ;) What time should I try to get a ADR for LeCellier after the tree lighting? We're skipping CP, as I think the kids will like this better. Can't wait to "meet" you!!!!!!!!

When is this 6:00 P.M. Epcot Christmas Tree Ceremony ??????? Is it during certain dates....these are the things I'm trying to find to go to during our dec 17-24 stay. I would be willing to even change the dates of my trip to see this!

Hi, bride03. One of my links below show all of the times for the first two weeks of December for last year. But I'm sure that it will be every day while you are there too. It is a wonderful way to start a evening singing with Mickey and his gang and the lighting of the christmas tree and the lighting of the Lights of Winter arch.

I used to miss this when I did the Candlelight Processional because of timing and the ability of me to make the walking back and forth.

You'll injoy this very much.

Sincerely, Ray

Ray Sharpton has some terrific threads where he lists what the party offered last year...times of shows, etc. Very helpful info.

I can't help it. I love going every December. I hope that you can make both meets.

And thank you for noticing the link mistake. I have corrected it.

When I get down there this year, I'll post the MVMCP guidemap again.

Sincerely, Ray

I can't wait to meet you and your beautiful family, too. You can stand in front of my scooter. I was going to stand back about 15 feet or so.

The show usually lasts about 20 minutes, but there will be a crowd. I guess 7:00 P.M. would be a very easy walk to Le Cellier and still be about 15 minutes or less ahead of time.

Check my dates from last year and see when the Canada Santa Claus will be out. I don't remember off the top of my head. That would be a good treat for you children, too. He usually stands just to the right of the entrance of the trail down to the Le Cellier restaurant.

I love Le Cellier, too. Great steak and pretzel bread sticks.

As a side note, about crowds at the tree lighting, etc. It seems that a lot of people don't know about the time it starts when I've been there. But, the Castmembers seem to feed the incoming guests down the center of the archway as a preparation about 20 to 30 minutes before the show. You can still walk down the two outside walkways outside of the arch, but the guests leaving right before the show are directed down the two side walkways to exit and not down the center of the arch until the show is over. Right before the show starts there are people all of the way up the archway.

And there are very loud speakers to the far left and far right of the stage where some wheel chairs and people stand. I did that once last year and it was a bit loud for me. If I had stood back a few feet, I wouldn't have been in front of the speaker.

Sincerely, Ray

Thanks for all the info, Ray! You save me those spots, and you'll get to see 3 kids with the biggest grins on their faces when they see Mickey et al light that tree! They are as big of Christmas fanatics as their mom!

Can't wait! Wish that ticker would hurry up. Gotta go to bed. Peter Pan is at 2pm, and I need to iron Captain Hook and PP costumes!

I'll be there for the 3rd but since I leave on the 4th, I'll miss the rest. But, I figure I should be able to get in a fair amount of meets between the 30th and the 4th!!! Attractions? What attractions? Too busy meeting 'new friends'!!!! See you there Ray. And thanks again for the hard work. It is so helpful for those who haven't been before or those that have been but just forgotten the facts!!!

ok, I know I am getting VERY far ahead of myself.... BUT... :rotfl:
We just came back from 9 days in Disney for the 4th, and my mother and step father have decided they actually want to go (neither have ever been!)
We are starting to plan for December 2006, and reading everything here it sounds FANTASTIC (how could it not? It is Disney!)
I am curious about the weather in December... I lived in south Florida for 4 years and remember it still being quite warm (at least for people from NY)
What are people's ideas about doing MVMCP for first timers at Disney?
My parents will be about 57 at that time, and usually go to bed about 9 PM!

I have always gone in the spring or summer, and so have no prior experience with any holiday celebrations other than Easter or the 4th of July.

I just booked tickets for the Christmas party on 12/8. It cost $41.49 (adult) and $31.90 (child 4 yrs old) plus $3.00 shipping. I was told none of the parties had sold out yet and the reservation agent did not know what the maximum limit of guests was (actually he wasn't even positive that there was a max but thought there was "probably" one.) Hope this update is helpful. :)

Can I buy the party tickets without having a park ticket that day?

Yes. Ordinary park admission is not required for MVMCP. The last few years people have been able to enter the park as early as 4:00PM with only an MVMCP ticket. Apparently they do this so as to not be faced with 20,000 guests all coming in at once. :teeth:

So, what exactly is the deal with Liberty Tree? I have found it mentioned several times. Do they do something wonderful for the holidays?

Mostly, it's because it could be booked more then 90 days out. Also, new this year is Tony's. At 90 days you can book the Castle, Crystal Palace and the Plaza.

Last couple of December's have been in the 70's during the day and 40's or 50's at nite. It depends, when I went to MVMCP on 11-29-03, the nites were going down into the 30's, but since I had just moved to Florida from Minnesota, I didn't think it was that cold--Still in shorts and t-shirts.
