Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

We have been to the MVMCP the last two years. During the day it has been warm, shorts and t-shirt weather. We usually change before going to the party. I purchased a special holiday sweater for both my daughter and myself. Alot of other guests seem to do the same, plus WDW usually has a holiday t-shirt and sweatshirt with a holiday theme. I did purchase a t-shirt to wear other days during our visit.

I was also told my guest relations that WDW only sells 2000 tickets per night to each party. I have to believe this is true since we have never really had to wait in line for any ride in the last two years.

Woo Hoo! I just went through yesterday's mail & our tickets to MVMCP for 12/8/05 have arrived. Now, the trip seems real. We should arrive at WDW bright & early on 12/5 and depart late on 12/11. We also have PS/AR for LTT at 6:10 the night of our MVMCP adventure.

We want to go to MVMCP on Tues Dec 13. I thought I read somewhere that on a few dates, there might be a discount with an AP. I thought the 13th was one of them. Is this True? Secondly, we just got our Fl seasonal AP in the mail. They are exchange tickets, so we can prove we're fl resident. Anyway if I need a AP # to get this discount which # would I use? Thanks so much

Yes, I bought tickets for the 13th and got an AP discount. They will be ready at will-call and we'll pick them up there and show the AP. I didn't have to give any number when I called and purchased the MVMCP tickets.

On the nights of MVMCP...do they still have the electric water pageant? I'm going to be staying at WL and was hoping to see the pageant on Dec 2nd... :confused3

Yes they do.

I'm sure they do. The EWP schedule is not related to MK park hours, except that sometimes it is delayed to avoid conflicting with fireworks. That may happen on MVMCP nights so be sure to verify the timing of EWP.

NOW I am beginning to be concerned.

I just read the new reports of last years MVMCP on allears.com. Almost every report complained about the huge crowds.

I read those reviews and got concerned as well. But you know what if you go there anticiapting crowds and struggling to do things it's not gonna be fun. I told my wife it's my two favorite things Disney and Christmas and I am not going to let myself do anything else but enjoy it. Snow on Main street !!!!!!!! I can't wait, we will be there 12/1.

Sorry, something I don't understand. I bought and received my tickets for the 14th of december. To reserve dinner at Liberty, I do not have to wait until the 90days window opens, but reserve a table already, now??
I have been twice at the beginning of December to the Christmas Party and cannot complain at all about a big amount of people. And it gets a lot better though after the first parade, with lots of people who have little children leaving the party.
It is one of the highlights of our stay and this year we do it right before flying back home, just to put us into the right mood for christmas
Can't wait!!!!!!!!!

2000 people packed into main street, yes It will probably be a little crowded. I imagine that a lot of people go to the party expecting very little people to be there, but 2000 people is a lot. Just remember, though, its probably better than the normal crowds, and it is going to be fun. I always live by the idea of "expect the crowd" then when you get there, they don't seem quite as bad. We just went in the middle of June and everyone seemed to be complaining of the crowds. Since I had imagined it to be so crowded, it didn't really bother me too much!

First of all, I hope you accidentally typed 14 December because there is not a MVMCP that night. They have one the 13th and 15th.
As for Liberty Tree Tavern, yes you can make dinner reservations right now. But hurry, because the best times (around 5:30) are already filling up.

When I called the best time they could give me was 6:50 pm. I think I may cancel it.

You can hang onto it until the 90-day mark and try to get a better time then-- that's when people start cancelling because they book CP or the Castle.

This is why I haven't bought our tickets yet. Every time I read the DIS, I get all excited about MVMCP, but when I read other websites like allears, I think twice. There seem to be more negatives than positives. Still can't decide for our trip 12/17-12/21. We could go either 12/18 or 12/20, but I'm afraid 12/20 will be packed b/c it's the last night.

I guess it's hard to justify the extra expense when it has been so crowded in recent years. I don't want to pay more and enjoy the place less because it's too crowded to move and lines are prohibitively long, not only for rides but for a photo! It sounds like it used to be a great, exclusive event, but Disney has been allowing more people in while cutting back on the perks that made it so special (reducing photographers, discontinuing buttons, counting out marshmallows??). :confused3

Anyone else in this predicament?

Not sure if it is going to be crowded or not, but I booked anyway. We have a DD4 and a DS10 months. Our DD has a Disney sing-along video that has the xmas parade in it. She goes crazy everytime she sees it, so I know she will love this...crowds or no crowds.

The reviews of 2004 are funny. In one instance there are 2 totally different reviews of the exact same party. It also appears that most of the bad posts were from people who went later in Dec vs. Late Nov, early Dec. It call also depend on whether you are a glass half full vs. glass half empty kind of person. I guess it is alot of $$ if you dont have a good time.

We will go expecting crowds, etc and just hope for the best. We hope to at least get the photo and see the parade with the snow. The kids are dying to see the snow, so I hope we get to!

Good luck deciding!

Thanks a lot!ccgegg ! Yes you are right, we will fly home the 14th and enjoy the party on the 13th. For me it is normally a bit easier to call 90 days ahead with the time here being 6 hours further and there is no early morning call for me. Will try right away (in about 4-5 hours to make a reservation. Again "Thank You"!
