Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

Alright, I've never been to MVMCP and I'm pretty intrigued by the concept of it. My family and I (Mom & Dad both 50 and sister 25 and I, 21) will be in Disney World from December 16-21. Is MVMCP something we'd all enjoy? Is it worth the cost of the ticket? Is Tuesday the 20th the best day for us to go? Also, can we buy our tickets through AAA? That's who we will book the reservations through for the hotel and tickets, so can we also get MVMCP tickets through them? Thanks a ton!

I have heard that it is definately fun for all and definately worth the extra cost. You just need to call Disney when the tickets go on sale (AAA might do it for you, just ask) and yes, I think Tuesday is the recommended day by most.

I can't wait!!!

I am gonna call back and see if they have my reservation yet. There are some other things I would like them to take care of.

Which resort are you staying at?

We'll be at the BWI Dec. 17-23.

I would actually recommend emailing IPO. The email addys for all of the resorts are on a sticky post on the resorts board.

Tinkerbelle1013 - The dates aren't confirmed yet but right now it's looking like Dec. 20th will be the last party and therefore almost guaranteed to sell out and be crowded according to most posters on this thread. DH and I are planning to attend the Dec. 18th party. Next to last but hopefully not as busy because it's on a Sunday night.

My DW and I are planning to do MVMCP on November 29 this year. We have been twice so far and liked it so much that we make it a point to go once every time we are at WDW during the holidays. :)

The cookies and hot chocolate are excellent and the atmosphere is very festive as long as the weather holds out. The "snow" on main Street while waiting for the parade is a nice touch even if it is only soap suds. :( When it is cool enough, as it was last December, it actually seems like snow. :umbrella:

Hello DIS!

We are planning a trip that would overlap the Pop Warner week. Would it be better to go the "THE PARTY" while they are visiting or after? I guess my question is if anyone knows whether the Pop Warner teams got to MVMCP - so it would be more crowded on those nights.....

Thanks! :wave2:

This is our favorite hard ticket event at WDW!!! I am already counting down the days till we can call for our tickets! Planning an early meal at Liberty Tree so that we finish up around 6 pm. We've always forgone the family picture, but I am willing to wait in line for it this year.

"hard ticket"??? This isn't like CRT, is it? Have they even announced the date tickets are going on sale yet? Let me know if I need to mark my calendar and get up early with a phone in each hand. :confused3

Is the family picture free with admission?

You don't have to wake up early to get a ticket, don't worry about that. But if you are going on a busy night, the sooner you get your tickets the better. Some sell out within a few weeks of being on sale sometimes. BUT if you did want to book LTT, I would wake up early to do so.
The picture is free with admission. They mail it to you in about a week.

Hard ticket only means it's a "special event" that require separate admission to get in.

No announcement on when they go on sale yet. Last year was May 1.

No, you won't have to get up early and buy them on the first day. The nights do not sell out that fast. It takes at least a couple months for certain nights to sell out...usually Fridays and the last party.

The souvenir photo is free with admission.

No, it's not as bad as CRT! Most of the tickets for the earlier parties won't sell out until the day of the party from what I have heard. Some on the weekends or close to Christmas tend to sell out before hand. So, depending on what day you are going, you definately might want to buy your tickets in advance when they go on sale.

Interesting - AP holders get a pretty good discount, but it's not good on advance sales, just day of party sales. I wonder how many AP holders will actually wait until day of the party to buy their tickets?

I know I won't! I can't leave anything to chance - I want my tickets in my hand at least 3 months in advance!! :rotfl:

What's the discount for AP holders? Might be an option for an extra night when we are there.

I wish I would have known that last year! Good thing to know though.

It's new for this year. They say to check out the AP website in June for more details on this discount...

Ok, did I miss something, what does AP holder mean?

It's an Annual Pass ticket to Disney World. They get lots of discounts and this year they get 25% off of the MVMCP/MNSSHP tickets on day of purchase price (gate price).

:goodvibes This will be our first MVMCP :goodvibes

I am so glad this thread was started! We'll be staying at the WL from 12/7 - 12/14.
Hope to meet some of you.......so wear your DIS stuff :bounce: :bounce:

Christmas and Disney.....it cant get any better than that!

The party begins at 7:00 and ends at midnight.

Does anyone know when the parade and fireworks are? I'm thinking with DD5 and DS(almost 2), we won't be lasting til midnight.

Also, is this parade the same one I saw taped on the Christmas Day special? And do they have special performers (like Mariah Carey last year) during MVMCP?
