I would avoid Friday.

I would go either November 29 or December 1 and then if one of those nights gets rained out (only happened one year that I know of) or someone gets very ill, you can try and change your tickets to Dec 4.

I just want to double check that we don't have to use one of our days of passes to get into the party as well. We went to the hallowe'en party last year but we had went to MK earlier that day so I'm not sure of how it worked. The way I understand it is that we just need our admission tickets for the party when we go that night. Thanks!

We are DVC members and purchasing AP's this year. All four of my family will have AP's, but we are also going with my parents and 2 brothers. Will I be able to purchase a discounted ticket for them as well??? Does anyone know what the day of price will be? Thanks,

Pam

Chrisann: We went to MVMCP 3 years ago. We did NOT use a day on our Hopper pass. We had to buy extra tickets. We were staying at Port Orleans and just bought the tickets at the hotel counter. This was the best money spent. We had a blast. We went to the late parade and walked on all the rides while everyone else was watching the first parade. Free hot chocolate, cookies, and the best fireworks display I have ever seen. You will have a great time!!

This will be our first time going in december. I cant wait. My boss is going to let me use personal days, which for that time of year is a big no no, but he said he would approve it and by the time anyone notices it will be too late.

I think we will try to get tickets for the December 6th party.

hope to see some of you.

love, poohangel

We'll be down for Thanksgiving this year...and we'll be there for the first night of MVMCP! Is the first night usually crowded? It's a Sunday. Has anyone been there for opening night??

The AP discount is brand new this year so no one but Disney knows exactly how it's going to work yet.

Last year a few people said that although they didn't think their weeknight party night was sold out, they found out while down there that it was.

Yes, last year we knew well ahead of time that Dec 3, 10 and 17 were sold out.

I didn't realize the AP discount was new this year...I'm new to holding an AP!!! :cool1:

I think given that info and the fact I'd rather be safe than sorry, I will probably buy my ticket at least a few days in advance. (Hoping for "reliable" weather reports by then. But who knows, I could see me purchasing in Oct if Fri's start selling out early! LOL :rotfl2:

Maybe I'm just a newbie to the MVMCP but I didn't know they did the parade twice during the party. Any idea what times they are?

Usually it's 8:30p and 10:30p

Someone mentioned the parade is the same Christmas parade they ultimately show on Christmas day. I thought it was a variation on the SPectromagic light parade but w/ more Christmas stuff (which is probably also used during the daytime Christmas Parades.)

Just wondering....

The parade at MVMCP is similar to the parade on Christmas day except that the one on Christmas day is bigger...they add MGM floats and AK floats etc...

The Christmas parade is nothing like Spectromagic.

have you been to MNNSHP? b/c I thought that had some aspects of Spectromagic and a LOT of other Halloween/villain things. But maybe I was mistaken...it was awhile since I had seen Spectro when we went. In any event...the MNNSHP parade was outstanding!!!! And I'm sure the one at MVMCP will be equally impressive. :goodvibes

Yes, I went to MNSSHP last Halloween and 2 years ago. It was mostly villian floats. I don't remember any Spectro floats in it either. Yes, the Halloween parade is great and the MVMCP parade is even better, IMHO as its a bit longer.

Okay, I lied. I need a little more info if anyone knows. Do I have to be at the gate to come in at 7:00PM? We'll probably have dinner somewhere and then go. Or, here's another question...are the sit down restaurants open during MVMCP? Which one to choose?

No, you can get in with just your party ticket as early as 4 p.m. (at least, this has been true for the last 3 years). I can't remember if any of the sit-downs are open during the party; it seems like the Crystal Palace had a final seating around 6-6:30. But here's the question -- do you really want to spend your party time at a sit-down restaurant? ;) I lot of DISers get early seatings at LTT or CP, then are already in the park before party start.

Thanks again! I'm really looking forward to it!! :cool1:

You can buy them over the phone on online at www.disney.com.

LTT is Liberty Tree Tavern, a restaurant.

Thanks for the quick response! I should have guessed the LTT - my two sons took part in the English Soldiers are coming scenario when we last had a meal there - they were given a wooden horse, tricolor hats and ran around shouting the soldiers are coming much to the other guests amusement. They were rewarded with two beautiful Liberty Tree Tankards in glass as a thank you and it was a wonderful memory - unfortunately we didnt like the meal but oh well, cant have it all!! ;)
