Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

So, against my better judgment, I purchased AP discounted tix for 12/4. We really wanted to go on Tuesday, 12/6 and I HATE not being able to have tix in hand - just my control freakiness, I guess - which leads to my question:

Does anyone know if we are going to get something in writing from Disney confirming our purchase? Yes, I have a confirmation number but I would rather have a piece of paper!

Why do you say against your better judgement? A couple of ?'s as I've never gone to MVMCP - when you order your tickets do you have to have your AP # in hand. I haven't ordered my AP yet, I'm waiting to save up for it but I think I might need to purchase it sooner rather than later. When you order your tickets are they sent to you or do you then have to pick them up at the Ticket Counter at MK? I'm trying to figure out how to plan out all this planning, lol, if that makes sense. I'd like to purchase the MVMCP with the AP discount since for us it would mean a savings of about $40 since I am purchasing 7 and it would mean getting one of the children's tickets free!!!

Anyways thanks for any help you can offer.

Against my better judgment because we would prefer Tuesday 12/6. Tuesdays are less crowded than Sunday, in general. We had a glorious Tuesday MVMCP last year. And, when you purchase with an AP discount, the tix are to be picked up at MK because you have to show proof of current AP, i.e., the AP has to be current for the night of the party you are attending. I would prefer to have my tix in my hand, not wait seven months to receive them.

I do not think you need to have purchased your AP when you pay for your MVMCP tix, only have it in hand to pick up the tix at Will Call. Does that make sense? That said, clearly the CM could see I was an AP holder when I called with minimal info from me so I am not sure if they will ask questions or not. It works the same for resort discounts, you can reserve with an AP discount but you are supposed to have proof of AP to check in.

The CM did tell me that I could pick up the tix anytime after we arrive for our December trip. It doesn't have to be the actual date of the event. That is good, probably easier to avoid a huge line the day of.

Hope that helps.

For those that have to call back for confirmation number. I just did and it was no hassle, got my new number and they verified that all the info was correct and I am set to go!

Thank you! My DU agent is following up on this for me. Makes me feel better knowing it worked properly!

Should I go on (tues) 12/6 with a LTT ressie @ 5:45 or on (thurs) 12/8 with a ressie at LTT @5:25?

Both are equally the same crowd-wise. Those PS are very close too. I'd go with the one that best fits with your vacation schedule.

Hi there all you MVMCP veterens! I have some questions that I hope you can help me with.

First: Are all of the counter service restaurants open during the party? We would like to go 12/18 but don't really want to do a sit-down that night. We would prefer to arrive around 4:00 or 5:00 and have something at a counter-service around 6:00 and then be ready for the festivities at 7:00. I was thinking Columbia Harbor House for dinner but was wondering if that is possible or if they will not let us eat there even though we have our MVMCP tickets?

Second: DH and I were planning to go to MK on 12/18 for our first full day at the World. Since we are buying MVMCP tickets for the same day, should we do another park early in the day, nap/swim in the afternoon and then go to MK that night? Is everything open for MVMCP or is it select rides? Can we see a lot of stuff if we get there at 4:00 for the party and still have time to see the parades, Wishes, and special shows? Or do you think we should do MK early that morning, lunch/nap/swim in the afternoon and then do MVMCP that night? If we don't go to MK during the day, we'll still be able to go to MK another time since we have park hoppers but I don't want DH to feel burnt out by being at MK too long.

Please share your thoughts and opinions on this. And I'm sorry that it was more like 10 questions instead of 2! I'm just so 'cited about MVMCP!! TIA!

I agree! I especially love the link to last year's MVMCP. That helped a ton (and the map is great!). If you have any advice or tips for a first-timer, sure would appreciate it! Staying at the GF, doing LTT at 6pm.

Thanks!

My advice would be -- don't take the walking path back to the GF after you leave! ;) (The path doesn't go all the way to the GF. You can't get there that way!)

Just a reminder that if you don't get what you expected, try again.

I just bought tickets for Dec 6, and asked for a PS at Liberty Tree Tavern. The CM transferred to Dining, where I was told they couldn't do that until 90 days.

Fortunately because of these boards and previous experience I knew that I could, so I called 407-WDISNEY again, and this time I got a CM who knew how to do it, and I got a 5:15 PS at LTT. (5:05 is booked already.) Thanks, Helga! (Dec 6 is her birthday!)

I just booked my tickets and reservations at LTT for 6:40pm on 12/8. Just a note to anyone with a large party that they only have a few openings left that night for big groups.

Those are the restaurants open during MVMCP. Would the others still be open at 6:00 pm before it starts?

Thanks for posting that awesome list. It totally helps with the decision process!

Some on the list are only open till 6:00p like the Castle and Crystal Palace. Some are open all day and all night BUT close from 6:00p to 7:00p so they can clear out the park. I believe the only counter service open between 6:00p and 7:00p is Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland since Tomorrowland remains open for party goers, the rest open up again at 7:00p. That is why so many people like to eat in a sit down restaurant while the park is closed...not much is open and they don't want to go to Tomorrowland.

so if CRT is only open until 6:00 what is the last PS you can make?

I believe they take PS till 5:30p/6:00p. Not sure as I haven't eaten there but I know that Crystal Palace takes PS till 6:00p cause I have eaten there so I assume the Castle also does. Both are not open for the party but are open till 6:00p, meaning they take PS till 6:00p I believe.

How long does dinner at LTT take. I have either a 5:25 for Tues and a 5:40 on Thursday. How long can I expect it to take for a party of 6.

We're going on the 11/29, but I was wondering if the 27th or the 1st (Thursday) would sell out? I'm just wondering, in case we get down there and decide we want to go more than once.

Hoping to go Dec 1....hopefully there will be other's from here that are going.

Just ordered our tickets for MVMCP for Thurs Dec 1st ! :cool1: So we'll be there! (CM said he couldn't believe he was selling Christmas tickets already! And said ours were the first ones he was doing.) Can't wait for the tickets to arrive, so this trip will start to really seem real! (Of course the credit card bills will help to that effect in a not-as-happy way! :earseek: )

Hope it won't be more crowded than other dates because of the AP discounts. I wanted the Thurs so it would be in the middle of our trip and we could get to MK once during the day before going at night. Looks like AP discounts the whole week we're there except Fri, which seems to always be busier.

Hopefully DS will be able to stay awake and happy for at least a few hours of the party (DS will only be 20 months old)! We'll probably take it easy all day and then go to MK around 4 or so and try to last as long as we can.
