This is a link to my local news station and where I get all my info from on the hurricanes and tropical storms. You can both watch and read the weather reports. I thought it might be helpful to some to get the info straight from the source I was.

I just looked at the newest forecast for Ike and the trackers have it going well to the south of where we will be.

Okay, I've packed a bit more, washed the kitchen floor, straightened up some of the house, fed the kids (the most exhausting chore) washed the dishes, stove, and microwave.....and now I'm going to go meet my mom for dinner and do some shopping! I really want a nap, but that's not happening!

Welcome aboard to you and your family. Where are you coming from? Are you flying in? Do you have your stateroom number? We have a dismeet schedule for 3pm on Sunday by the mickey pool (before the life boat drill). If you are by any chance staying at the Radisson at the port the night before, a bunch of us will be there, hoping to meet up. Come join the fun!

Ok, you guys are going to love this. I called my mom today and she answered the phone sounding very sad. I asked her what was wrong. She said she didn't think we were meant to go on this cruise. I asked why she would say that. She said because they sent a notice home with the boys saying that they have two viruses going around the school....Fifth/thirds virus and foot and hand virus. One of these has an incubation period of one week. I told her not to worry! We will be fine! For the last two weeks I have been making sure Chris knows to wash his hands every time before touching his face and he assures me he has been. We will be okie dokie but I can't help but laugh with everything going on.

I was on mouse owners browsing for info (at one point last September, I wasthisclose to purchasing a DVC interest) when others were mentioning that "other cruise forum".....so I googled and low and behold, exactly what I had been looking for!

Welcome to the board. Sorry you just found us with so few days left. Are you doing any land portion, before or after your trip? Are you flying in the day before? Several of us are arriving on Saturday and staying at the Radisson at the port. We have arranged a Dis-meet on board Sunday at 3pm by the Mickey pool. The dis 'official' color is lime green. If you have a Home Depot near by, they have Disney paint and you get pick up those samples of paint chips, but for Disney they are shaped like mickey heads. So you grab some of the Alien green (LGMH, lime green mickey heads) and you can cut them out of the paper backing and you have your first official (very easy) decoration. I've punched holes into them and hung them from little chains so we can attach them to our luggage and stuff, hoping to identify other Dis-members.

We will be driving down....we plan on leaving Chicago Saturday morning and driving pretty much straight through. I really don't know what to expect since this is the first time driving to Orlando, as opposed to flying in. We will be staying two nights at the Caribbean Beach resort for, the Thursday and Friday upon our return.

We will be driving down....we plan on leaving Chicago Saturday morning and driving pretty much straight through. I really don't know what to expect since this is the first time driving to Orlando, as opposed to flying in. We will be staying two nights at the Caribbean Beach resort for, the Thursday and Friday upon our return.

Mary (sorry if that's not your name), if at all possible, you may want to try to leave earlier, just because of this Hanna. Not sure exactly when and where she's goign to hit and what route you'll be taking.

I live in Chattanooga, TN. We are planning on driving down Sat., leaving around 5 AM, and stopping off in Gainesville to have lunch with some family. Staying at Country Inn & Suites. We rented a car to drive down. We are staying Thursday night Animal Kingdom Lodge. Flying home from the Sanford airport on Friday morning...WHEW!

Anyway, I am a School Nurse here in Chatt. and love all things Disney. After our 12th trip to WDW my husband suggested a change in Disney venue...and we decided on the cruise. I have been planning since February.

I am still terribly worried about the storms!!! My poor mother is glued to the weather channel worried about us too! LOL

Oh and we are in cabin 2517. Hope to meet you all at the Mickey Pool!

We too had this virus in June. My DS had the HF&M and my cousins son ended up with 5/3rds!! NO fun. I am sure if you have on top of the hand washing you guys will be fine

So today was last minute errands day. I think I am all set with things to occupy Cody during dinner as well as some odds and ends for our stateroom. Hopefully I didn't forget anything and if I did oh well! I did stop at HD though and "borrowed" quite a LGMH's. Haven't figured out what to do with them yet but I will come up with something...ha ha

Tomorrow I am getting some pics done of DS for his 2nd birthday, which is at the end of this month. Then we are off to BJs for the mondo box of diapers and some snacks and a case of water for the ship. Then Thursday is the all out packing day!!

We are pulling the pin here in Philadelphia on Friday night at 10pm! We should be in Daytona by lunch on Saturday, but I am trying to talk my Mom into going all the way to Cocoa Beach and just staying there for the night. All depends how DS is doing after driving all night, we all may be ready to get the heck out of that car. But I am hoping for a bit shorter drive on Sunday morning.

I wish everyone safe travel this week whether your driving, flying, or walking to Florida. I don't think I'll be on the board for the next couple days. The first day of homeschool co-op is Thursday, and as administrator of the co-op, I am swamped with last minute details. I've just taken a break from it all to see what's new here and eat desert (cherry flavored chewie Rolaids. Yum)

Weather - glad to see we've stopped talking about it. I felt left out not caring about it and all.

Viruses - Keep up the good work with the hand washing, Dawn! I've been advised to start on a regimen of acidophilus tablets to boost my immune system. Hmmm. Couldn't hurt, but that's just one more thing to remember!!

Packing - forget about it! Friday morning, we'll throw whatever we can remember to pack into a few suitcases and hit the road. I'm sure the 16+ hour train ride will give us plenty of time to remember what we forgot before we reach Sanford. No worries! They probably have Walmart near Cocoa Beach or somewhere nearby. As long as we have our ID, travel documents, credit card and FE stuff we're good to go, right?

I was at the library this afternoon and I overheard a boy (about 11 or 12) tell a couple girls that Hurricane Hanna was named after Hannah Montana. I think he really believed it. I know they believed him. That's not true, right?
