Well, we're all so busy! Dale's toiling away at work making money, stopping only to post something silly on the meet thread, Patty's racing through the streets of some town in Delaware where she and Dale live, only stopping home to get a little sleep or heave more "stuff" into her daughter's room. Corinna's industriously climbing the corporate ladder, Hayley's manically (or maniacally) packing to move offices & homes and across time zones for a much needed vacation, and Dawn doggedly "occupied" chasing Chase, hiding the cruise from Christopher or closeted in the bathroom reading and rereading her cruise documents. I'm sure the rest of us aren't exactly drifting languidly through these last few (or less) weeks either. I haven't been languid since last month when I took a Valium from an expired prescription just to see if the expiration date on the bottle was to be heeded or if the pills still worked. The pills were fine, and I was way past languid since my usual dose when I needed them (surgery-related) was half a pill.
As for the document count, if anyone's keeping track, UPS brought ours this morning as well. I appreciate the thrill this brings the first-timers, but while I'm glad to know they're here, and I am excited about the cruise, I'm really more preoccupied with keeping our house ready for the stream of company we've had or will be having all this week. It's like everyone suddenly decided they needed to do their out-of-state visits before Labor Day or before the start of the school year slams the window of opportunity shut. It has been wonderful to see these friends and family and to have an excuse to cook finer meals (minus desert for me) than we usually have during the week.
And, then there's the preparations for this last-minute trip to California. I just found out about it Monday, and I'm leaving Sunday morning.

It won't be hard to make a get-away since the menfolk will be leaving for camp the same day and Leah will already be at my sister's. I'm fretting over what are the must-see, must-do, dine, and tour in the short time we'll be there. Without a clue as to how far the desert, beach and mountains are from Pasadena, it's frustrating. I'm going to surf the web for advice from a native Californian. I do know I want Sees chocolate and if I can get us tickets on the same day, I want to treat my friend to a VIP tour of Warner Brothers Studios. Maybe, I'll find stuff for the FE's. (I still haven't made mine. I thought I'd have time next week)
Olympics fans, enjoy your late night viewing! The only time I wish we did have television is when there's something great like the Olympics or the Superbowl on.
