Can't believe we are sailing in 3.5 weeks!!!!! I have too much to do, but I have started throwing stuff in a suitcase! I put in Josh's pirate costume from last Halloween (still fits, though the shirt is kinda short/small) and a pirate mickey ear hat! I hit the dollar store last week and bought tons of stuff for all the kids for our meals.....stamp kits, disney coloring sets, stickers, and foam beads for necklaces.....hoping to keep them occupied during the somewhat long meals! And, then all the documents are in there too! Too much to do and too little time....but, so worth it!!!!!

Karen, I haven't started to 'pack' yet, but i have a PILE of stuff I need to take with us and as soon as our daughter moves out this weekend, I am taking over her room!!!! (I'll miss her terribly, but I NEED the space to prepare for the cruise, lol).

I really should go to bed. The bedtime police will be knocking on my virtual door in the morning. It's just that I get my kicks staying up late enough each night to witness my trip count down go down a number.

So, Are you up late tonight doing your Disboard homework?

Ok, my buddy, the bed police are checking out the time you are posting. Granted you have a legitimate excuse, you get in from work really late so you can stay up and check the board, lol. I love to see the numbers going down on the counter!!!!!

This is very cool! On of my dearest friends needs a travel companion (expenses paid) for her trip to Pasadena, California next week, and she picked me! It's only four days -Monday to Thursday- but I'm psyched! I've never been to California. I have to find out what is the "must do" thing for someone visiting Pasadena for a couple days.

Wow Monica, I am jealous!!! I've always wanted to go to California but Disney really gets in the way, lol. But to go to California on someone else's dime is awesome!!!! I hope you have a great time. I have a close friend who has been there several times. I don't know if they have been to Pasadena or not, but I'll ask, if so she'll have some tips.

You are NOT a moron, it is confusing which codes to use. I'll tell you there is a woman on the wedding boards who posts directly from her kodak account. If you'd like I can pm you her id and maybe she can tell you how to do that, so you won't have to move them to photobucket.

As you can see I am up WAY early this am. We've had a puggie visitor for a couple days and she adds to the mix of those that likes to get up early, lol. I figured I'll just stay up at this point, since I am going to the y in an hour. Running another 5k tomorrow evening so need to go work out. Hoping this beautiful weather we are having will last, it's wonderful running weather.

You have quite similar dates to us, we arrive on Aug 21st, spending 17 Nights in DisneyWorld before the Cruise - we might see you! Where are you staying?! We are at Port Orleans French Quarter and the Polynesian. Oh - and welcome to our cruise!!

Justthe8ofus - I know right!? It's crazy! I say my vacation officially starts on the 20th as we are travelling up to the airport then, so 7 DAYS TO GO!!

I'm so excited!! We just changed our cash into dollars this morning before the rate drops even further, I am kicking myself we didn't change last week.

Monica, I'm orginally from California. I use to spend every summer out there as a child. I think you will really love it! You'll get to experience heat without the humidity which really does make a difference. I could take any day in the desert at 110 but 90 here w/ 90% humidty and I want to die. Enjoy your trip!
Patricia, you could always visit the original Disney in CA. Totally diffrent then Disney World! It has my favorite ride.....the manahorn. Believe it or not, I use to go to Disneyland every summer and even though I lived in FL(from age 4), I did not visit Disney World until I was 10.

are you flying out of Manchester? Am I right in thinking that you will get there the evening before? If I am not completely mistaken, I am on earlies on that day. I know what you mean. My sister and I were in Greece and Turkey last summer during a heat wave. It was like 113-115 or something crazy like that but, with no humidity. I was like "what's the problem?" It was hot yes but, finding shade made a big difference. I found that just constantly drinking cold water really made it not that bad. When it's humid the shade makes little difference. You just step outside and you are instantly covered in a layer of wet. Kinda like a steam room.

Wow Mary, that's great!!!! So did you book through DCL this time or a TA? I was so excited to get our stuff from DFTW yesterday if my cruise docs come today, I'll be soooo excited!!!!

Greetings mom2cody06, My wife and i are from Claymont, Delaware. We are going on the same cruise and also staying at Disney afterwards. We are flying down early Sept. 6 and staying at the Raddison by the Port like several others. When are you guys heading down? You flying out of Philly? If you have the time to read ALL the posts you will get lots of great imfo. And a little humor. Good luck .

We are actually driving down. We are leaving Philly Friday the 5th around 10pm. Our plan is to arrive in Daytona Beach on Saturday and stay there for the night. Then heading to port on Sunday.

I wish I would have thought about searching out a message board sooner then 3 weeks before out cruise, But I am going to try to catch up with everyone.

When we head over to Disney we will be staying at the all star sports resort. I AM SOOO EXCITED.

Chris and I have been sick for the past few days w/ a stomach virus. Chase got over this stuff in 12 hours and Chris and I are going on 36hours. My boss was all to quick to point out today that I'm not as young as Chase; she said I'm getting old Poor Chris has missed his first two days of school. He LOVES school and is so excited to be going back. I'm glad we are getting this mess now instead of closer to the cruise. Like Dale said before....glad to get this through the house now.
I can not believe how close we are getting to the cruise now. Time is just flying by! I'm starting to feel the crunch and still have a lot to take care of! Anyone else still working on a to do list?
They are watching 3 systems out in the Atlantic right now that will develop in the next 7 to 10 days The tropics have gotten super active. Here is hoping for a quiet week Sept 7th!

Yes, I got my cruise documents for our cruise on the Magic yesterday. No sign yet of the documents for our cruise.
I also got my formal gown that I had ordered from Ebay. The picture I posted does not do it any justice. It is a true baby blue and fits perfectly. I felt like a real Disney princess when I tried it on.
The most important bit of news so is that my portfolio is finished and sign off as of yesterday afternoon. I just have to type up half of my mystery shopper reports for the portfolio, which should take me about 15 minutes and then I can hand the portfolio in. It is like one dark heavy cloud has lifted.
Today I had the day off. I never made it to lunch as I found a bead shop and by the time I was finished browsing, it was too late for lunch. I did cook us a nice chicken and mushroom curry for dinner though and I am now sitting at my desk sipping a gin and tonic.
The rest of the day was spent being crafty. Most of the big project for my FE gifts has been done. I have two left to do, which I will do over the weekend. I work funny shifts for the rest of the week (Early tomorrow, graveyard Thursday and Mid on Friday) so I won't get much time to be crafty, but I have some smaller projects in the pipeline as well so I might well work on one of those tomorrow evening.

Corinna, it's so nice to put a face with a name. I should print all these people off and put names on the back (like flash cards), then when I see someone, I'll pull out my card and see how it is, lol...

I didn't think at first that your docs were for your other cruise, so we'll be waiting patiently for ours.
