Congratulations, Corrina, on making the shortlist! What a great way to start the weekend.

:cloud9: Patty, congratulations to you, your husband and your son and daughter-in-law, too :cloud9:

Only 17 hours until I can make my reservations for our cruise. We have decided to do the parasailing in the morning at Castaway Cay and Graham wants to do the Walking and Kayak Tour in the afternoon. I will either hang out on the beach in the afternoon or go back to the ship at this will be our 3rd day on Castaway Cay. We will stay on the ship for the Nassau day.
I also hope to get our complimentary dinner at Palo on Pirate Night and also the Palo Brunch on the At Sea Day.
Unfortunately I am working the graveyard shift today followed by a middle shift tomorrow so I will be in bed at midnight Eastern, but I hope that there are still some slots available when I get up at about 3 am Eastern.

Corinna

Did you get your reservations made? I'm still another month out so you'll have to let me know if this is a smooth process. All I want to do is make a Palo res for my mom and her boyfriend and reserve bikes for us on castaway cay. I have a dial up connection so I feel like Im back in the days with my 14K modem in which I can play a game of solitaire while each web page loads. :rotfl2: Have a good Sunday everyone! I'm off to prepare for Chase's 4th bday party. His dad has him now and I haven't been able to get ahold of him since he took him on Friday. Why do I feel like they are going to be late?:confused3 I bought Chase a pal Mickey and I spent a 1/2 hour playing with it last night before I wrapped it up. Hmm, wonder who will get more benefit out of him?:rolleyes1

WOO HOO!!! I booked the few things we are doing. I did read that you can book Palo once for each meal, so I booked the brunch for the sea day (something special) and we'll have the dinner on the evening of our vow renewal. I also booked bikes and floats on Castaway Cay. The walking tour of Nassau was already filled?? Well we will probably just do our own (I have a print out of a great one from a previous cruiser). I also booked the Exotic Rasul for our sea day.

I'm tickled that I have that done. Now I have to go shower so I can get to church. Have a great Sunday all!

Gosh! I have some catching up to do on this thread!!

First up - congratulations Corinna and good luck on the interview itself, and of course congratulations Patricia - that is wonderful news!!!!

I finally got everything booked! What times did everyone get, just in case we have the same time?

Nassau Harbour Cruise - 10.15am
Palo Dinner (Nassau day) - 6pm
Parasailing (CC) - 11am
Tube Rentals (CC) - all day
Palo Brunch (Sea) - 11.30am
Exotic Rasul (Sea) - 3.30pm

Nassau Harbour Cruise - 10.15am
Palo Dinner (Nassau day) - 6pm
Parasailing (CC) - 11am
Tube Rentals (CC) - all day
Palo Brunch (Sea) - 11.30am
Exotic Rasul (Sea) - 3.30pm

Hayley, Glad to see you were able to book both dinner and brunch. There were LOTS of times open for both of those (which is good for our cruisemates who can't book for a little time yet). I didn't book anything for Nassau day (since that is vow renewal day). We will do a self guided walking tour (any one up for that).

At some point that afternoon (I'll have a hair appointment for a style for our ceremony). Our vow renewal will either be 4:30 orr 5:30 with Palo for dinner a little later.

At Castaway Cay, we are renting bikes for an hour and then floats for the day.

On our Sea day we are going to have brunch at 11:00 am and the Rasul spa thing at 2:00 p.m.

We had some on board credit, so I used that for these special things. Now I am going to 'try' to put money on our account for our photographs. I'm excited that most things are paid for now!

Ok, this was mentioned before, but my brain is on vacation this weekend I guess. Which are you doing, early or late dinner? If you selected a specific one, did you have a reason. We usually eat at home around 6pm, but I had heard the later seatings had less kids (usually). I am booked for the main seating and short of changing it online, I am kind of stuck. Do you like one over the other? If you have the late seating, do you go to shows first?

I ended up getting lucky with my reservations. I was on the graveyard shift yesterday and on a mid morning start today so I was going to try my luck when I had to get up about 3.5 after the reservation window opened. About 30 minutes into the reservation window I was woken up by the drunks down on the street so I got up and made my reservations.

I pretty much got everything I wanted: Palo Dinner on Pirates Night, Palo Brunch on the At Sea Day (midday) and the parasailing for both of us and the Nature Walk and Kayak Tour for Graham at Castaway Cay. The only slight compromise was that we wanted to do the parasailing first thing in the morning and Graham wanted to do his tour in the afternoon. Unfortunately the Nature Walk and Kayak Tour was only available at 9 am so I think I will have a lazy morning and then meet Graham for lunch followed by our parasailing adventure. I am still wondering if I want to do any Spa treatments. I really would love to do the Exotic Rassul on the Nassau day, but Graham is a little reluctant.
We have main dining, but I am considering trying to change to late dining. The reason we originally chose main dining is that we are usually ready for bed at about 8pm for the first 5 or 6 days in the USA. As the original plan was to fly in the day before the cruise, we figured that we would not enjoy our dinners if we go for late dining as we would be far too tired. Of course the plans have changed twice since and now we will have been in the USA (or should I say in the Caribbean) for a full week and should have adapted. I think I would prefer the more leisurely and calmer late dining. We have ended up with late dining on the Magic so I think we wait to see how we like it and make the decision when we get on board the Wonder. As main dining seems to be what everybody wants there should hopefully be no problem to change. Initially I was very worried about the late dining on the Magic, but I figure that part of the problem is that we often vacation commando style. With two cruises to look forward to, I have decided to take it easy and just relax. If I need a nap in the afternoon then I will have one.

Corinna

We have main dining. Our family usually eats between 4-5pm and we would all be starving with a later seating. If you have the later seating, you do see the shows first and visa versa. I am so very excited for our cruise! I just found out that Chase's grandpa is a scuba instructor and I'm trying to convince him to teach Chase how to snorkel. I would love for him to be able to snorkel with us.
Chase had a great pool party today. He didn't want to get out of the pool to open presents or have cake. I was able to get some great pictures on my moms new digital camera. I'll have to try and figure out how to upload them on my lap top. I asked her if I could have her camera since she didn't know how to use it but she wasnt having it.
I think I am getting more enjoyment out of Pal Mickey then Chase is at this moment. I carefully put Mickey in Chase's room and a short time later saw Sugar (Christopher's dog) proudly caring him around in her mouth. I was luckily able to save said Mickey before he lost a few pounds in stuffing.....he just has to live with doggy slobber. I told Sugar she better not try and harm Mickey again or there may be dire consequences. She gave me a look as if to profess that she is not a Mickey murderer. Would you believe her?

It looks like we will catch both of you at the Palo brunch!!

Patricia, I think you have the rasul room straight before us! And I think we will probably see you at Palo dinner :)

Corinna, you should parasail at 11am! We'd be on the same boat

We have also chosen Main Seating - Ideally we'd like to eat around 7pm, but I just think 8.30-9 is just too late for us. I hope we get put with other couples and not with a family with young children! You never know, some of us might end up sitting with one another!!

Congrats on getting everything you guys wanted!

I am afraid that Graham would be very disappointed if I changed our parasailing ressie to 11 as he won't get back from his excursion until 12:15 and we want to do the parasailing together. I also have the distinct feeling that if I am not with him, he might not get on the boat. I know that he really wants to do this, but I also know that he is more than just a little apprehensive about this.
We are also hoping to sit with couples. Graham does not really do children and I have been known the give the stern teacher's look to children that are misbehaving.
I just had an idea. On the 5 night cruise that we are doing, some people are linking ressies so that they are sat together. Maybe we could do this for our cruise as well. Although I have never met any of you, I feel we have know each other for years. I would definitely love to have dinner companions from this group. The reason I was considering changing to late dining was to lengthen the odds of being sat with a family with children.

Corinna,

I was thinking this same thing, about linking ressies so that we would get seated together with some of our new friends we are meeting here. I just wasn't sure what others thoughts were on this.

Dawn,

Glad Chase had a nice bday! Sorry that Sugar thought that Pal Mickey was his present though, lol. Our son's beagle (Snoopy) who lives with us thinks any stuffed animal that comes into the house if her new toy. (even my expensive Steif ones. They are way up high). She sits and whines waiting for you to give her the new toy!!! Glad Mickey didn't suffer any ill effects of Sugar (other than slobber, lol).

hope you all enjoy your Memorial day (might just be a US thing, if so, sorry to our UK friends). Enjoy your Monday if so!

At least no one on the table would look at us funny, ordering 2 desserts and taking photos of the food

Do you think we'll be able to request once we get on board or will the seating plans have been done then?

I decided to give my son a late birthday gift and my daughter an early birthday gift by taking them on this cruise. (have to have a reason to cruise again lol) I will be taking my other daughters on a 4 night next May and my twins will get 2 nights at the Nick hotel. DH and I thought it might be nice for the kids to get a little more personalized time in between the big family vacations.

I think we are going to go to Atlantis for the day. That will probably be it for excursions for this trip.

What are you all doing?

Patricia, I'm so glad I'm not the only one with a dog who doesn't understand the difference between hers and not hers. I swear some times she is a ninja dog. I don't know how she gets things past me into the back yard to chew up. Just today she ate my Irish Kevins cup I got while in Key West. :headache: I told my mom we would just have to go back and get another one. :teeth:
I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day/Monday. I got my yard work done. I won't be home for the next three weekends and I didn't want to come home to a jungle.
I hope that all of you can get a table together. It would be nice to have a table were you know everyone enjoys each other's company. :)

Welcome aboard and glad your joining us! :) I'm sure your children must be very excited. This is our first time aboard (any cruise) for us. We will probably go to the pirate muesum, visit the straw market, and might do a horse drawn carriage historical tour. Then we will get back on the ship early and enjoy the pools. We are so excited! :hyper:

Mary,

Welcome aboard! So how many in your group are traveling? Do you have a room assigned yet? We do have a yahoo group where we were trying to get to know each other (it's been pretty quiet though). I'll pm you a link to it in just a bit.
