At least no one on the table would look at us funny, ordering 2 desserts and taking photos of the food

Do you think we'll be able to request once we get on board or will the seating plans have been done then?

I think this would need to be done in advance as our dinner tickets with our rotation and our table number are waiting in our cabins for us when we board.

I decided to give my son a late birthday gift and my daughter an early birthday gift by taking them on this cruise. (have to have a reason to cruise again lol) I will be taking my other daughters on a 4 night next May and my twins will get 2 nights at the Nick hotel. DH and I thought it might be nice for the kids to get a little more personalized time in between the big family vacations.

I think we are going to go to Atlantis for the day. That will probably be it for excursions for this trip.

What are you all doing?

Hi Mary,
welcome on board. I am sure you will feel right at home with our little group.
I have decided to give Nassau a miss. I am hoping for some port day spa specials and even if there are none, I am sure I can amuse myself on board.

Welcome aboard and glad your joining us! :) I'm sure your children must be very excited. This is our first time aboard (any cruise) for us. We will probably go to the pirate muesum, visit the straw market, and might do a horse drawn carriage historical tour. Then we will get back on the ship early and enjoy the pools. We are so excited! :hyper:

Oh you are going to LOVE it! But, it is sooo addictive. No cooking no cleaning no laundry lol. My kids don't know about this yet. I am going to tell them they are going to the space center or something that day and hope they don't notice the bags in the back of the truck

I have 6 kids but, only 2 will be sailing with me this time. My DD 10 and my DS 9. I will check out the yahoo board. Thanks for the welcome everyone!

We are surprising my oldest son for his 10th birthday. He thinks he is going to Sea World. :lmao: We always spend a night in Orlando when we go for day trips, so us staying in the hotel the night before won't be suspicous to him. I just went onto DisneyShopping.com and bought a personalized watch for him. I'll give him that and a card the morning we leave that will say "It is time we leave on the Disney Cruise" I can't wait to see his face! :hyper: He has only been crying since he was four that he wants to go on a Disney Cruise. We just love everything Disney! :cloud9: Are you doing any of the birthday packages? I did both the birthday celebration and birthday extravaganza package. So glad you'll be with us! Perhaps our children will be in the kids club together. :)

Justthe8ofus: Welcome on board and welcome to our thread! Nice to have you here! I added you to the first post on this thread, I hope you don't mind :) Looking forward to you joining our cruise!

I completely updated the first post, and also added the link to the Yahoo group in it. Anything else which should be in the first post?

You know, I think we should have a name for our cruise or group, like the Konked Kruisers have :teeth: Any ideas? We can make a design for magnets, etc. out of it afterwards!

I had a dream about the Wonder last night! I was watching it come into port in my home town and the weather was boiling hot (which is how you know it's a dream ) - I was almost crying it was so beautiful, and there were only 15 people going on the Cruise.... and then DBF woke me up - Boo! Oh well, just about 3 months and we'll be there!!

Hayley,

Good idea! So who's the creative one here? Someone want to come up with a name for us!? Then we can go from there. I want to make some magnets for our door, so having a 'group' name sound fun.

Sorry dbf woke you during your dream! I can't wait! :cool1: We are so excited here!

Oh that sounds like a great plan! He is going to be one happy boy. Where did you find the birthday packages? I will have to look into that. My son loves the kids club.(he turns 9 in July) I will have to work to get him to spend time with me. ;) My DD likes to hang out with mom more. She turns 11 on 9/12.

Thanks for adding me! 15 People on the cruise wow that would be a dream! There is a good chance that it will be boiling hot though. Aug/Sept are the hottest around here. With the ocean breezes it should be nice. As long as those breezes don't exceed 45 mph :scared1: I shouldn't even say that. Don't want to curse us. ok pretend I didn't say it.

Mary,

We have been to Disney only in August (until this past year when we got to go for a day in October and a week in December). So we know hot and humid. But I've also been to the carribean Puerto Rico in the summer. Something about the ocean breeze makes it a little more bareable. Since hubby and I are renewing our vows on deck the afternoon/evening of the day at Nassau, I am praying for a little breeze (as I'll be in a gown)! But not too much breeze it blows over our cake, lol.

Hey, cute new smileys (or ones I didnt' see before). Here's hubby on his harley :moped: oh, he wouldn't be happy, that's a moped, lol!

SHHHHHHH, What are you trying to do to us! ;) We don't want more motion in the ocean! hehe
I found the birthday packages on the Disney Cruise website under my disney cruise. :)

 We went to Orlando start of August last year during the heatwave they were having - it was HOT!! But, I can't complain... once I'm back to the Welsh weather I'll be wishing it was 100 again!!

I am totally looking forward to the Bahamas! Somehow after booking the excursions and whatnot it seems so much more real now, and I can hardly believe we're going!

I'm definitely making some magnets for our door - I'll have to find some magnet tape from somewhere! I have a few designs collected from some awesome DISers and I'd love to have a special one for our group!

I'll have to put my thinking cap on for the names... I'm trying to think of something tropical, Disney and Cruise-ish :)

The birthday packages sound great! I almost wish we were celebrating a birthday!! I wanted to buy the Bon Voyage decorations, but we'd never eat that cake between 2 of us!

I'm to tired to be truely clever about a DIS name but it seems to me that almost everyone on here is having a special occassion. Perhaps the name should have something about celebrations? "Cele-a-brate good times C'OME ON! Da na na na Da na na na" That is as close as you'll get to me singing!

I'm too lazy to see when the last time I posted and who has joined or posted since. If you just joined, hi and welcome.

We had a fabulous time at the camp reunion. The weekend was perfect in so many ways....until we got home Monday afternoon and poor Spencer (my 10 year old) went out to the chicken yard to check the water buckets and found what remained of one of our hens and her chicks. Most likely, a raccoon has moved into the area and is eating dinner at our place. He or she came back last night and raided the coop. We thought the chickens were safely locked up, but I was the lucky one to find the trail of feathers leading from the coop to a bloody, fly covered carcass this morning. Dh put some additional securing touches on the coop tonight and laid a trap for the predator.

It won't be long before us common folks can make our reservations. I'm not sure I want to go to Palo for dinner this time. The food is great but all I don't really like to dress up for a meal, and all I really look forward to is eating the chocolate soufle (I ordered two last time). I've learned how to make those at home. It might be more fun if we were dining with others. Last time, we had brunch with two other couples (from Disboard) and that was a fun afternoon.

It's my big day today. I will have my interview this afternoon. I hope that everything will go well. At least I should have a stressless day for the rest of the day. One of my annual objectives for this year to shadow a Team Leader for two days and this is today and tomorrow. Of course, if everything goes according to plan this afternoon this might well be counted as the first part of my training.

Good Luck! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed :)

Thanks for all the good wishes. It is over and I think it went pretty well. I will find out if I have been successful or not on Friday. If I have got the job, I will start on June 1st.
