Tickets are being sold now. I just picked up mine for October 11th. :cheer2::yay::cheer2::yay:

I learned the hard way to not buy halloween party tickets in advance. We bought our tickets early a few years ago, and then the party was basically rained out - no fireworks, no parades, most of the outdoor rides were shut down. It was miserable, 2 hours of blowing rain that a mickey poncho was no match for. We already had the tickets, so we had to attend. Now, we buy the tickets only when we can see the 10 day forecast. I would only break the rule if I was trying to go to the party on a night that was likely to be a sell out.

good thought. How can you tell if a party is likely to sell out?:confused3

That's a good point but I've had pretty good luck with advanced purchases. I did wait one year until I actually got there and wasn't able to go because that week was sold out.

I'm jealous! :goodvibes

We went a few years in a row, and haven't for the past 2. I want to go again this year, but am afraid to prepurchase because of the rain chance, too.

Most nights don't sell out, especially mid week. The one's closer to Halloween and definitely Halloween night will.

I'm going to take a guess and say that the nights with the premium pricing are expected to have very high attendance.

Last year we purchased advance tickets for MVMCP and it rained cats and dogs. Rides were closed down, the first parade was canceled and my husband and two of our children gave up and left. I stuck around with the other two kids and it eventually stopped raining but the late-night crowd was heavier than it normally would have been and we were sopping-wet and sticky.

Unfortunately, the only days we can attend MNNSHP this year are October 31 (premium night--I'll pass) or November 1, the last party. I'll be purchasing tickets for November 1 in advance but taking my expensive Disney rain ponchos along to Florida and hoping for the best.

You kow, I really don't think about rain outs and such. I guess I'm too much of an optimist and figure that "everything" in WDW is perfect!! Either that or my brain is turning into blue cheese as I age!! :rotfl2:

I just bought mine for Sept 30! We've been before and had a great time...

No rain at any point can stop me from enjoying Disney - Hurricane Fay forced me into making that decision...it rained for the first 5.5 days of an 8 day trip...lol And I mean torrential downpours. There was no poncho that could keep that rain out!

I think the parties right around Halloween sell out. We've gone to a party every Sept since 2001, and have had no problems getting tickets. Before the rained out party, we always bought the tickets in advance. The last couple of years, we bought them when we get to Disney, or from member services a few days in advance. We decided the day before to attend a Mickey's Christmas party last November, and had no problems getting tickets.

I already bought ours for Oct 6th, and this will be our 1st MNSSHP. We have already done 2 MVMCP. The 1st one it rained and that didn't stop us and the 2nd seemed like the coldest night of the year. I bought a blanket to give as a gift and used it to cover and watch the shows. I can't wait rain or shine, and I'm dressing UP!!

I found the date, but no mention of a discount for DVCers. Haven't we received them in the past?

Does the park close to regular ticket holders when the party starts? We were planning on going to MK on Nov 11, does that mean we'd have to leave by 7pm if we don't buy party tickets? We are staying at BLT so I was hoping we could stay late...

Unfortunately, yes. Special bracelets are issued to ticket holders, and CM's walk around checking for them.

I just bought tickets forr 10/17, 10/19 and 10/22. Yes, we are nuts, but we've also done the other parties and DH and I decided to do 3. This is our "splurge" for this trip. I can empathize with those who've had rain outs. Happened to us at P&PP and not only was the night a wash, there were tornado warnings out. I didn't listen to DH and that was the only night we had bought tickets and that was close to the end of our trip. We always go at least 2 nights now, but with this being the first time for MNSSHP, we decided to 3.

I'm fairly new to the DVC side of the boards and have a question about the topics we are allowed to post. This ties in with this thread because I had started a thread a few days back about MNSSHP and it got moved by the moderator to the Theme Parks & Strategies forum. I had thought it was fine to have that topic here, and apparently others do too. I hope this thread does not get moved, as I like to come to this forum and find it all-encompassing for my trip. Does anybody know how a decision is made to move something from this area when it's general Disney info from which many of us can benefit?

This is the thread that was moved:

Thanks for any info!

Going after we get off the member cruise. Looks like it will be that saturday night. Good way to end the trip, had a blast last year.

Learned my lesson though, being in MI I plan on it being cold for Halloween and our costumes are there for quite warm. Last year it was 90+ humid and we backed. This year keeping the costumes simple and light weight.

Going the first night on Sept 14th! Taking my Brother-in-Law and his family for their first trip to WDW
