Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, what if it rains?

prior to the party did you link you event ticket to MDE? If you did it should show it there.
There's a number to call 407 824 2222
I called and was told by two different CMs that it will not show up in my DME, and just to show up at the park with my magic band or party ticket and I'll be able to get in.

OMG i swear, Disney is going bananas. On the HUB it says that it will show on MDE as event ticket. I guess at least you know you have them

LOL. They made it sound as if everyone who has a party ticket from that night will get the one day ticket, unless they made arrangements to exchange for another MNSSHP night. I'd feel much better having something in hand or visible on MDE. At this point in time we aren't planning to be back in time to use it anyway. I'm not entirely comfortable with changing current plans to take advantage of a ticket that is probably there lol.

OT but this wasn't our best trip overall. Actually, it was in the bottom few. There wasn't any one specific awful thing that happened, or anything like that. We just weren't feeling the magic this time, in general. There were several CMs who went above and beyond and put smiles on our faces. We had lots of walk on rides and great weather up until Tuesday night. Still, as a whole, it just wasn't great. We had a good time, but probably not a good enough time to make Disney our top choice for our next vacation.

That's what they are saying, everyone from that night is getting a ticket to the park unless they chose to swap for another party night

Has anyone called to find out how you know for sure if the one day ticket has been added to your account?

I stopped at resort concierge that night and they refunded the price of the tickets. I find that Guest Relations at the parks really don't do a great job at helping people. The resorts staff has always been great. This may be because they have hospitality training and the Guest Services are promoted from within and lack that training. This is just from my experience I am sure that some of you have had great experience with Guest Relations.

We were also at the tuesday party that got rained out. We did a couple photos before the rain hit and got in a few indoor rides. We also managed to jump in the minetrain line right as it opened when the rain stopped for a few min. We also stuck around for the fireworks, but couldnt bring ourselves to wait and see if the second parade would start.

We didnt hear about any refunds or tickets until a few days later. My mom went to guest relations and asked about it. They told her they were automatic and would expire within a year. After she told them she lived over 20 hours away and that ticket would be worthless, they finally offered her a code that could be redeemed at guest relations when she wanted the tickets and that the code would never expire. A day later I also went to guest relations and they told me the same thing about the automatic invisible tickets that expire in a year, took some discussion but I managed to also get a code that could be redeemed for tickets in the future and was told the code would not expire. I asked if the tickets could be upgraded, she said no but didnt seem to sure of herself. I figure I will use them if I ever go down for a cruise or a universal vacation.

I don't have time to read what everyone has said, but last year the week before Halloween we attended a party during rain. The horseman didn't ride and the stage show was cancelled. Finally, real late in the evening DD and I got to see a modified version of the stage show from the very front. It was great, but not the entire show. We parked our self at Casey's for hours. My 5yo DS slept and we watched the parade from there under a Casey umbrella. We only did one trick or treat line because lines were long and we did one meet and great with the witch from snow white. Other than that we sat...at Casey's. We did enjoy bits of it, but for the most part we were wet and miserable. The biggest mistake that we made was that we started our day at MK early in the morning and stayed through to the end of the party. We know better now. :)

In 2014 we had rain for MNSSHP and MVMCP. For MNSSHP we missed the horseman. For the christmas party, we missed wishes and the entire parade.

I think I'm done with the parties for quite a while.

In 2014 it rained during our MVMCP. The fireworks were delayed and the second parade was cancelled. There was a line of people from guest relations all the way down Main Street looking for a refund. We were given tickets to the following party night so that made the situation better for us. We made sure to attend the first parade that night as a precaution.

So we were at that rained out party. I had our tickets on MDE and am not seeing the "free tickets" everyone is talking about.
We won't be back to Disney for 4 years so if they expire in a year that won't really help us.
I didn't think the party was a total loss but the first half of it was pretty horrible.

Did they actually close the park on 9/18 with the noah arks amount of rain that fell? I heard a fireworks show go off about 11:45pm from home but it was too cloudy to tell if it was epcot or the halloween party (it was loud enough for hallowishes). HS went off normally but the lightning started right after it began but I heard the whole show.

Parties suck when it rains, I usually recommend going as early in our trip as possible to give you options while your still there (although 2 weeks away party dates doesn't sound like disney is stepping it up or they finally figured out they can't double the amount of people in the party and have people be happy). A ticket only good for 1 year to get you back doesn't sound like a compromise..

The resort trick is good to know, leave early, head to the resort to get your refund from staff that is helpful :)

We went several years ago when it rained quite a bit most of the night. They delayed the fireworks and headless horseman. They gave a 10 minute announcement for both and went on as usual when rain lightened up a bit. As we were leaving Disney handed out passes for 1 free day at MK good for the next year. As most people buy multi-day passes when they visit, a 1 day pass ends up not being worth that much but its still a good gesture. We couldn't make use of it as we already had MYW passes for our trip.

October 4, 2012. We were there!

literally (and I mean literally) NO ONE was outside for at least an hour that night. We holed up in Cosmic Ray's with quite a few from the Tomorrowland cast. I never thought it was going to stop raining that night. LOL
We were there that night! It started when we got off of Buzz. After being packed like sardines in that gift shop for quite awhile, we bought ponchos, took our sandals off and ran barefoot over to Space Mountain. After awhile it did stop raining, and we got the late parade and wishes. We had a ton of candy when we left too. We didn't even know they offered refunds. We had a great time anyway, so we were all good.

Just a note, I also went to the party on 9/13 and was told by guest services they were only offered the one day park hopper ticket that expired in one year. I wrote an email to guest relations when I got home and explained how the 1 day park ticket would not be any help to us based on where we lived and that we would not likely be back at Disney in the next year. I again asked if it was possible to get a refund or at least a partial refund. I expected them to say no but I thought it was worth a try. Today I got a phone call from a very nice lady at Disney who said she would give me a complete refund for my tickets and she apologized. I told her there was no need to apologize as it was not Disney's fault it rained so hard and that we had a fantastic trip. I was very nice in my email and on the phone and was pleasantly surprised to get a full refund without any argument from the lady on the phone. It's times like this that I really do love Disney because they made it right to me even though they did not have to. I would have been happy to at least get the 1 year expiration date extended but I am more happy with the refund!

I was there last night and it stormed. I got there at 4:00 and pretty much did all the attractions there were to do. We ate dinner and got out in time for the dance party. Loved it. When it was over we had front row viewing in the castle hub for the parade. The Headless Horseman went by and we saw the parade. I had been leaning toward the later one but glad now we did the earlier. After the parade we went on Haunted Mansion and walked around a bit. We went to the front of the castle for the Celebrate show but it began lightning and thundering. They announced a delay so we went to the back to get a few party pins and t shirts then walked back to the front but it was getting worse. We hit the Emporium as the bottom fell out. They kept announcing the delay but we decided to leave. Every day we have taken our ponchos but last night lol. We got soaked but had a blast. I'd say I did everything I wanted. Didn't get any candy though because it was so hot earlier we figured I would melt but that was ok. It could have been better if it hadn't rained but I still felt I got my money's worth. Loved Skippers.
We have learned to not hesitate. We had fps for ToT on Friday night and it kept saying rain so we hopped on earlier in the day. We're glad we did because it stormed later.

No, they didn't close the park on 9/18. The first parade went on time. Celebrate the Magic went off around 11:15-11:30 ish and the 11:45 fireworks you heard were the Hallowishes. They also kicked off the second parade right around midnight. While it made for an extremely late night (especially with a 5:20 Magic Express pickup the next morning), we still had a lot of fun!!

It rained when we were there last year. They did the Hocus Pocus show but it was a much shorter version rather than the full show. They also had the parade but the Headless Horseman didn't ride. Otherwise, everything else was the same except more people were using umbrellas than usual.
