Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Questions

We are going Halloween night. I bought our tickets June 8th '09. They were not sold out at that time.

During the Christmas party, Lady Tremaine and the steps host their own dance party. We stayed for 45 minutes and the kids had a BLAST!
yeah I think it was MVMCP that mine were dancing with the step sisters....their dresses cracked me up...everytime they moved the butt part would just bounce and the step mother just clapped and looked mean>....LOL My oldest would just dance her heart away!

I wanna do the DJ dance parties! I always pass them by because Im so worried about riding-rides :-/

Thanks! We strive for unique! On our last trip (Dec 09) we brough Snow White rags, Cinderella rags, Belle's pink winter gown, Ariel's land dress, and a handful of others..... I'm already plotting to do Belle's green library dress for our next trip, as well as Ariel's pink gown. But we're starting to run out of "unique!"

Wow! I would love to see pictures of all of those costumes. What a talented seamstress you are...and your daughter is very lucky to have costumes that are the "real" thing. :)

Thinking about doing MNSSHP...I would love to do it but it really depends on the other people who will be going with me - if we don't do it, it will be b/c of $$$$ more than anything else.

Thank you! Actually I'm pretty lucky that she continues to go along with all of my costume nonsense..... :)

If you want a peek, I think most of those costumes are contained in my Flickr account:

O.M.Gawd!!!!! Those are amazing!! I can't think of a better word for it. She is sooooo lucky - what amazing (see, there it is again!) memories and encounters you both have had. I'm JEALOUS, :rotfl2:!!! I LOVE the dinglehopper pic and the Mary Poppins costumes. You're talent is wonderful (I stopped myself from saying a.......) I'm going to send that link to family and friends. OH! You should so totally post those on the POTD thread! Please??? They would be a huge hit there.

Many thanks! I've been entering selected photos in the weekly photograpy contests, but haven't done POTD yet. I'll have to check it out.....

And yes, you're right. Disney is a very special bond for us and we love the variety of special moments we have gotten to share. This fall will be even more special because it will be our first time to spend her birthday in the Magic Kingdom!

Any other ideas for unique costumes?? I do new versions of the princesses all the time, but still love to come up with new twists.....

My daughter is 8 and will turn 9 in the Magic Kingdom this fall.

I bet you're having a ball with your grand daughter. Enjoy. It passes WAY too quickly!

OMG U are an awesome seamstress... I love all the gowns u have made.....are u selling any???

Is there somewhere I can find a party schedule/details etc. like with all events/activities/attractions etc.? There doesn't seem to be alot of detailed info anywhere I look. I bought tickets for Sept 15, but I am wondering whether I should keep the night of Friday the 18th open as well just in case. Everything I've seen sounds like it's just so much fun and don't want to miss a thing.

I'm wondering aswell if we should plan on doing the party twice. We are travelling with 2 dds - 5 and 7. We don't really have Halloween over here so its a completely new experience for them and they are sooooo excited. We don't plan on riding rides at the party as we are at WDW for nearly 3weeks and will have AP's. But want to see all the shows (fireworks, parade, etc.) do the dance parties, get photos with the characters - especially the rarer ones, and of course Snow White and the Dwarves, and most of all Trick or Treat. Is it possible to do it all, or should we plan an extra night? It will be many years before we can get back to the US so we really dont want to miss anything.

Hi i would plan on doing it twice as we did one night and could not see it all It takes a lot of time if you want to see the Dwarfs thats a long line we lined up for a long time.We missed a lot of meet n greets we will do 2 times this year.As you are coming from so far fit in as much as you can have a great time.:cool1::cool1:

Thanks. I'm think we are definitley going to do it. Now we are going to have to work out what days. We did originally decide on 29 September but changed it to 1 Oct because Fantasmic was on the 29th and we didn't have October hours yet. I think we might go with both the 29th and the 1st and push Fantasmic into October.

For those of you who have seen Snow White with the dwarfs, what's the best stragegy for minimizing your wait time? How long before 7 do people start lining up? I think I'd rather waste some park time and see them at 7 if possible, maybe lining up at 6?????

Anyone done this before????

Have you done any from Enchanted? The wedding gown is a bit ornate, but I'd guess that the curtains dress wouldn't be much of a challenge for you.

On another note, I'm waiting on my friends replies as to if they want to do MNSSHP. I really hope so, we would go on Sept 25th and the way the hours work out for us, we'd have to do MK on that Saturday if we don't do MNSSHP. I would love for us all to dress up...it would be fun just for that.

I haven't done Enchanted yet, but do have some thoughts onthe curtain dress. I've also had some requests from customers, so maybe eventually.....Maybe I need to put on the "Happy Working Song"!

Today I'm working on MY costume for the party. I have my Fairy Godmother, but I won't last long in that one in the heat. It's lightweight, but the lame traps the heat. I thought that under it I would be Cinderella in Rags. That's the closest I'll get to a princess at my age..... My daughter will go in her gown, so we'll be a good match. I think we'll probably go in costume to CRT right before the party.

I think for our other night at the party we'll go with the whole Snow White theme. I'll do an evil queen for me, but probably won't leave it on all night because of the heat thing..... Maybe Snow White in rags underneath..... My daughter will be in a new version of the gown of course! We'll probably wait through that line twice......

I am heading to WDW at the end of September for a solo trip and plan on attending MNSSHP for the first time and have some questions.

1. Is the party less crowded during the week (say on a Tuesday or Thursday) than it is on a Friday night? I went last year on Thursday Oct.2nd and the event was sold out.

2. Is it better to get a ticket on May 1st or can I wait a little while to purchase? I purchased ours 1 month ahead of time last year.

3. Are there alot of characters available for meet & greets? Where are most of the characters stationed? Yes they are scattered throughout the park.

4. Should I plan to book an early ADR inside the park on the day of a party? Yes. Always on days of special events. I booked Crystal Palace for breakfast 1 month ahead of time last year and had to play around with times that were available. I tried to book another restaurant the day of the event for dinner and was only offered the plaza between 4 and 5pm.

5. Is this party worth doing twice in one trip? If you want to do everything then yes because you will spend alot of time in lines for various things. I know if i had the money i would have done 2xs last year.

6. Where is the best place to view the parade & fireworks? We always try to get in front of castle for the best photos. however its also the most crowded. I will be trying a different spot this year.

7. Are there alot of rare characters out for meet & greet? Yes. after the villians show in front of castle they have photo opts. however you must take your own photos no photopass. They also have snow white with all 7 dwarfs again no photopass. Also at the judges tent they have prince phillip with aurora. and at their house they have mickey and minnie in halloween costumes.

8. Is it worth trick or treating if you are a solo adult?
They give out lots of candy throughout the park but we only did a couple of stations to bring back to the hotel. There are no characters in these spots.
