Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central!

I'm about to order my tickets and wanted to pick them up at the Will Call window. Can I do this before the actual day or will I have to wait to pick them up on the day of the event?

DG

I've heard about this. I believe it's the same hayride that Wilderness Lodge always offers but during certain nights in October it becomes the "Haunted Hayride" and 'live' creatures jump out! My DDs wouldn't like it so I didn't keep the info I had over a year ago, when I was planning our October trip last year.

Here's what I found doing a quick Internet search:

Enjoy a Hay Ride at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds - Take an old-fashioned, horse-drawn hayride which offers an hour-long scenic tour around Fort Wilderness Campground. Hayrides depart at 7:00pm and 9:30pm nightly from the front of Pioneer Hall. $6.00 Adult; $4.00 Child (ages 3-9). Hayrides are on a first-come, first-served basis only ( no reservations!)

t -- I also specified Will Call pick-up for my order, and I believe you can pick your tickets up any time. I'm going to go on the first day of my vacation (Wed.) to get my tickets for Sunday's MNSSHP.

Thanks Bali -- I thought that was the case but I wanted to get feedback to reassure myself.

Wow - I just scrolled through page after page of this post - my compliments to those who answer the same questions over and over with a smile :)

I just wanted to say thank you. I was able to get my PS at LTT even at this late date although she said there was absolutely nothing available. I insisted that she check with a supervisor about special seating for MNSSHP. Thanks to those who let us know about this!

Question: I was on hold at dining for 20 minutes before my call was even answered. Is that a standard wait time - or did I just pick an incredibly busy time to call?!

I've been looking for the answer to my question on this thread and apologize if I've missed it. We have park hoppper passes for Oct 5th; being a newbie to all this, I didn't even realize there was a MNSSHP. My question is are there separate tickets to purchase for this party or does the park hopper pass get you in. If there are tickets, where do I find them, and how much $$. I've gotten so much wonderful information on this message board that I'm sure will enhance our stay at Disney and I appreciate all those who post here. Thanks, Kellye:D

The party is an extra Hard Ticket event.

You can buy them by calling Disney at their main number or you can buy them online at Disney.com where they sell all their passes under "Special Events".

Good luck!

the tickets are seperate. We ordered ours thru Disney and had them mailed to us. just go to the disney.com and go to shortcuts and under special events it will give you the info. I think its about $30 for adults and $26 for kids. If you don't have tickets they boot you out of the park. I've never been but hear it is well worth the money. I am sure there are going to many others who respond that will have more info. have fun.

Does anyone have any idea what will be happening for this show this year? In the past I've always enjoyed the show here -- I remember seeing the Dapper Dans dressed up like zombies I think. What do they call themselves for halloween again?

Now that all the tables have been removed from the Horseshoe for the Dance Party show during the day, will they still have a stage show for the Halloween party? I'll be really disappointed if its not there this year. I hope they don't just do a halloween version of the dance show. I like the Horseshoe show because its fun for adults too and its something different from what you can see during a regular trip to the magic kingdom.

That's not normal for dining. I do believe you hit a very busy time to call. Lately when I've called the dining line I've not even been on hold at all. Now calling for resort reservations is a whole different story.

Congrats on getting your LTT PS!

My first time to MNSSHP will be 10/16.
What's the best spot to watch the parade and the headless horseman?
Is the best spot for fireworks the bridge to Tomorrowland?
What is the best thing to do first after you enter the party? is it to get your picture taken or maybe go to the HM ride?

Is this party too scary for a 6 year old. (I've been to Universal's Halloween Horror nights before child and I know there's no way that Disney is scary like that)

I just read alot of this thread and couldn't figure out what LTT stood for and it just dawned on me- Liberty Tree Tavern!

The party is perfect for a 6 year old or all ages. It has been awhile since we went but I remember seeing some very happy dressed up children of all ages. The "little ones" in costume were our favorites and they seemed so proud to show their costumes. My DH & I went alone and had a great time looking at everyone else's kids while ours were at home!
The headless horseman was very cool but also very fast. You can see him along the entire parade route. I dont remember much about the best place because when we went I did not know about it yet. I freaked out when all of the sudden this horse comes FLYING through the parade route. I thought it was some sort of security patrol!!! :earseek: It is funny now but at the time all I could think of is "get out of his way!!"
We are going back in 5 days and have tickets for the Oct 3 party.
I planned this trip just to go to this party. Your family will enjoy it.

legs22....There are 2 MNSSHP parades. They run at 8:30pm and another at 10:30pm.About 10 minutes prior to parade time the Headless Horseman makes his ride down the parade route.
Halloween Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks is a 9:15pm.Be sure to get a good view of Cindy's Castle because you never know who might be flying overhead! Yes the bridge to Tomorowland is a GREAT place to see the "special guest" although for these party fireworks there's about no bad place in the ENTIRE park to watch!

My family usually heads for HM first thing with a stop at the picture place by the Hall of Pres. We'll be there Oct. 16 too! Several of Erich's teachers and classmates will be there that night too as here in TN we have that entire week off this year.

Defenitly NOT too scarey for a 6 year old...I've been taking Erich since he was 2 and he LOVES it still at 10yrs old!I know my day is coming that he'll want to go to Universal instead of Disney's Halloween but I'm hoping that's awhile...I'm a BIG CHICKEN!

brendaroo...you made me LOL!!

The first time we saw THHM we didn't know what the heck was going on either...I thought he was security too and after someone!

dsneygirl...Wow this sounds fun...ya know in all my trips to WDW over the years I've never been in the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon...I'll have to try this next month...it sounds GREAT!!

I found this thread very helpful-- thanks to all who posted.

We have a PS reservation for Ohana's at 5pm Oct 3, the night we are going to the Halloween Party. We find this restaurant fun and were thinking we would take the monorail over to the party afterwards. The logistical flaw with this is of course parking. It didn't occur to us that we really shouldn't leave our car at the Polynesian during the party, and don't want to leave any resort guests without a parking space when they arrive home that PM. Does anyone have a feeling for how much of a problem this will be?

After realizing this potential problem and reading this thread, we also made a PS for the Liberty Tree Tavern for 6:20 (the earliest we could get). We have never been before and the menu seems appealing to us (although the Ohana menu is admittedly more appealing). We are neutral on the Character-dining issue: we like it but also like a level of noise and chaos one notch down from a Character meal (don't worry-- we've been to Ohana's before and know all about the coconut races!). No kids in our party.

Is there anything "special" about the Liberty Tree Tavern during the Halloween Party? Spooky ambience? I imagine the characters will be dressed for Halloween... I don't want to miss too much of the party, but if the LTT is themed for the party, this will offest not being down on the "streets" of the park for the first 30-60 minutes of the party...

Thanks for any insight. We are leaning towards Ohana's, the monorail, and the easier exit from the park after the party (even though this might mean we have to take a cab).

DH and I are going to MNSSHP our first night of our wedding anniversary trip. We have a PS at 6:20 at 'ohana and then MNSSHP...we were going to go to eat first then go back to our room at Grand Floridian to change into our costumes for MNSSHP and then head over...so we'd get there by 8...do you think that this is ok? or do you have other suggestions on how we might do this?

Baloo....
Would you happen to know if they will be opening 2 additional rides since btmrr and AE will be closed?
Thanks.
Donna

When my DD6 was 4 years old she went on the HM ride and was scared. She informed me this a.m. she does not want to go on that ride again :(

Any tips on the best spot to view the parade and horse?

Do they have Fast Pass available?

In the book "The Unofficial Guide to WDW 2002" they quote a woman saying that the only scary thing at the MNSSHP were the crowds: "I've been to MNSSHP twice and both times it has been an overcrowded nightmare! Don't even bother to try and ride anything!"
How true is this?:( DD6 would like to ride Dumbo, Peter Pan, etc.
I also wanted to go to the MVMCP this year but for the MVMCP they quote a woman saying she would never go again because it was so crowded.

legs,
Although I've read the same quotes, I've also heard folks on this and other sites say they only had about a 10 min. wait for the rides on MNSSHP nights. I think it all depends on circumstance, and everyone's experience is very different. Also, "crowded" is a relative term -- especially in WDW! What some people see as crowded might be a "light" day to others.
I'm going to MNSSHP on the 5th -- a Sunday night. I'm hoping that the early October date, and the fact that the next day is a school day, will lighten the crowds; but I'm going to have a good time even if it's packed! :jester:

FYI: When I puchased my 10/16 tix for MNSSHP this a.m. I noticed that 10/31 is now sold out.
