Just want to be certain, being our first MNSSHP.....the parade route is from Main St to Frontierland, correct? And the Headless Horseman will be riding from Main St to Frontierland as well, right?

I watched the second parade on Halloween night and it came from Main Street with the Headless Horseman as well but I've heard on another thread that the earlier parade goes in the opposite direction but I don't know this first-hand.

Hey bali - I'm pretty sure that there's a DIS Meet on 10/5 too! Check over on the DIS Meets board - they stole our time AND our meeting place (7:30 near the HM).

Have fun!

Can anyone provide information on what the attendance for MNSSHP has been like in prior years? (We were looking at attending on 10/14. Our trip is 10/11 - 10/18.) We called Disney to try to find out the max number of tickets to be sold but they wouldn't provide the info.

I'm trying to determine if it's worth the extra cost if we are able to hit a lot more rides with little waiting than we would on a normal day at the park. (There are no E-Ticket nights scheduled for October or I'd go that route instead.)

We did the MVMCP back in early Dec, 2000 and it was well worth it. Our longest wait that evening was about 10-15 minutes for BTMRR. Everything else was probably less than 10 mins.

I'm hoping that I could expect the same at the Halloween Party but I've heard it's pretty crowded and waits are just as long as during the day (info from Unofficial Guide 2004).

Reading through here the concensus from folks who have gone indicate that ride waits are minimal. We've never been to WDW during a peak season so I really have no frame of reference when folks say it's not as bad as during the summer, etc.

Can anyone who has done the MNSSHP recently provide any additional insight regarding crowds?

Thanks!

Edit: That should have read "I really have NO frame of reference".

It has been 4 years since we went but I remember that the later the evening went, we were able to walk right onto the rides. The date was Oct 30 1999. We watched the parade, saw the special fireworks and still rode everything we wanted to several times. It was the best money spent because that is the only time for the special costumes, parade, spooky lights & shadows on the castle. The smaller children get tired earlier so it seemed that the 10 to 12 pm hours were very uncrowded. I hope it is the same this year!!!

ONLY 1 Day, 17 hours.... until we leave....OMG I need to get moving....:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hi all!
Gosh I've been under the weather for about a week now and wow has this thread GROWN!!! I like it!
pumpking.gif
I had jotted some questions down last week and have the answers to those...forgive me as I'm not sure to who asked what from then...not sitting up for a couple days blurs ones memory!!
Disappointed_anim.gif
Then I'll see what I know about the new ones posted. :)

Will Diamond Horseshoe Saloon have a special show for MNSSHP? Well I found out that DHS is getting a new name...Goofy's Country Jammin' Jamboree. That name should be appearing pretty soon. There will be shows the MNSSHP nights but as far as I could find out no Halloween theme to these shows.

Does buying MNSSHP tickets at your resort the day of the party count as advance purchase? No...this is NOT advance tickets. You'll pay full price of Adult... $32.95 Children (3-9) $27.95
if you buy your tickets the same day as the party.

Will Mickey's Philharmagic be open for MNSSHP? After Oct 9th it will be for sure.I'm hoping for those of you going before that date ,it will be running as they've had CM previews of it already.Anyone going before Oct 9th LET US KNOW!!!

Are rides running in the land that your let into if you are in the MK before the "official" start of MNSSHP? Well this one has me disappointed.Word is that as of right now they are planning on clearing the park of everyone except those who are dining or with PS. :( I was told that system wasn't working well and they were going to try clearing MK BUT was told this COULD CHANGE because things do ALL the TIME at WDW!!! Here's what I figure...they're going to see what a mess clearing the whole park is and they'll change it back to the one land opening thing. Fingers crossed.Once again those going the first week MNSSHP start LET US KNOW how they're doing this! Thanks!

How warm will MNSSHP be in early Oct? This is a toughie. For the past 2 years I've been attending the second week in Oct because the boys have fall break then. The previous years I've always gone the week of Halloween. Two years ago(second week of Oct) it was chilly when we left our room to go to the MK.My boys wore sweatpants and sweatshirts under their Ninja Turtle costumes,DH and I sweatshirts over t-shirts but I had capris DH shorts and we were okay. Last year it was hot.Boys in short sleeves and us too.I make their costumes and always make them short and short sleeved.I get sweatpants and a sweatshirt that match so they can slip those over and under their costumes in case it gets chilly before the evening is over.

2001 it was pretty cool our entire stay.We wore jackets alot that trip, which was weird.Luckily we were staying off site at a place with an indoor pool!

Where is Will Call for MNSSHP and do I have to pay to park? Will Call is at the Ticket and Transportation Center.I've picked up tickets there before.Tell them at the gate that you are picking up tickets and you will NOT have to pay for parking.

Will there be any more rides open because BTMRR and AE are down? Well practially every other ride in the park is OPEN that night! I'm betting Toon Town Fair will be open for this years MNSSHP. Some years it has some not but with things in rehab I'm guessing it will be.

garyinri...Can anyone provide information on what the attendance for MNSSHP has been like in prior years? OY if Disney would only let this info out...geez it's hard to pin them down on attendance ANYWHERE! I don't know why these numbers are running through mY head but I heard them somewhere is a MNSSHP runs at about 15,000 tickets.Max admission on a full, packed, no admittance, what am I doin here day (Been there done that at Christmas time before..OY!! ) is 40-50 thousand. So a MNSSHP is like HEAVEN! I'll be there later that week and I do expect it more crowded than years past due to the FTP and so MANY schools having that week off but it still will be WONDERFUL and easy getting on rides...like your exprience at MVMCP.

fultons96...The parade route is from Main St to Frontierland, correct? And the Headless Horseman will be riding from Main St to Frontierland as well, right?..... Beattyfamily...but I've heard on another thread that the earlier parade goes in the opposite direction but I don't know this first-hand. Yes it goes fromMain Street to Frontierland....Headless Horseman will appear about 10 mins. prior to the parade. And yes I've seen it run the opposite direction for the second parade.

simba2...How warm will MNSSHP be in early Oct? DH is trying to decide on a costume and came up with something that requires denim overalls. Will he die of the heat? He just might! How about the shorts/cut off overalls? Some years it's been steamy....I've felt so sorry for those dressed in "Northern" type Halloween costumes...they've been sweating their booties off! This IS FLORIDA!!!:sunny: On the years it's been chilly we've all had "summer" clothes on and just threw on a jacket or sweatshirt and were comfortable.

DrTomorrow....How will your DH handle 5-6 hours in denim overalls while doing a lot of walking and riding? I'd be dripping, but that's TMI.... THANKS! Now my computer screen is dripping with water...I did a spit take reading that one!!! LOL!!

Since 2000, MNSSHP has started at 7:00p with the park closing at 6:00p to clear the park of non-party goers and to decorate.

I believe the gates will open right at 7:00p as they are so busy getting everything ready...but of course, you can enter before 6:00p to eat and get a head start!

FTP = Fairy Tale Package that came out this past Spring!

I have read the info. about the party and it states nothing that resembles a real weapon is allowed. My 5 yo DS will be going as Peter Pan and insists that a small knife be part of his costume. I have seen small rubber knives that look pretty fake. Should I even bother with this or will it be confiscated? I wouldn't usually bother, but he is so adamant about being a "real" Peter Pan.

chi-mom...Here's Disneys "official " guidlines for costumes at MNSSHP:

They should not interfere with their ability to board and unboard attractions and WDW transportation system..

Do not drag on the ground.

Do not contain sharp or pointed objects or material that may accidentally strike another guest.

Be offensive to other guest.

Should not contain any weapon(s) which resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.

About the last one....when Erich was a pirate he had a flexible rubber pirate knife with a skull on the end. When the boys were Ninja Turtle's one had plastic swords strapped to his back and the other the little plastic daggers in his belt.We had NO PROBLEMS either time with these props.

Just wanted to say hi Baloo and glad you are feeling better. We sure do get into a mess around here when your missing! ;)

DW and I are going to be at the first two MNSSHPs (10/3 and 10/5) - without dining PS - and I've made arrangements to call Baloo from the MK (or outside, if they kick us out :( ). I'll give updates on both park clearing and MPH (I can't call it PHIL), which Baloo will post here. Baloo, DrTomorrow and the DIS - bringing you live updates from MNSSHP!

Dear Baloo,

Have you known of changing MNSSHP tickets to a different night while you are at WDW ? (Of course the night you want to switch to is still available). If it is doable, should this be done at the hotel guess service or park entrance ?

Thanks in advance !

Are there any kid's costume contests? I posted this on another thread but didn't get any replies:confused: Thanks for any info!

We will be meeting outside the Haunted Mansion at 7:30PM!
Credit for the idea of time & place goes to Dr Tomorrow. :teeth:
We will do a "meet & greet" session, a group photo or 2, then ride the HM as a group! It will be an awesome time with a chance to put faces to the names you have been seeing here on the DIS!
After the HM ride what we do is up to you. We can stay together & move on to another ride, maybe It's A Small World, or we can break off into groups & go on our way. In either case you'll make a lot of new friends, & meet a lot of really nice people.
Everyone is welcome. Hope to see a lot of you there. If you know you will be coming send me a PM & we'll be on the lookout for you!
DH & I should be easy to spot. We will be wearing tee shirts with the picture in my clipart on them.

I am very confused by this night?
If we have length of stay passes, do we have to buy separate passes to get into MK for MNSSHP? How does it work if we are already in MK during the day - do they kick us out???

Please help - we want to go but we are party of 11 and it is a lot of extra money................

1. Yes, you have to buy MNSSHP tickets. It does NOT matter that you have Length of Stay passes. This is a hard ticket event similar to Enights.

2. Yes, they will kick you out. They give people with MNSSHP tickets a wristband and all others must leave by 6:00p.

Do they have Cinderella's Surprise Celebration in front of the castle on MNSSHP?
