Thanks - very informative. I was not sure what to expect here and we have quite a few going so I wanted to gain a better understanding in order to devise a psuedo plan of attack.
Are the guests really jam-packed or is pretty manageable. We probably will be in Tomorrowland but that's optional at this point.
It would be a great time to catch alien encounter or Mickey's philharmagic (except I believe AE is closing for rehab). If anyone has an experience to share during that 6-7 pm window, particularly on halloween night I'd really appreciate hearing about it.
I don't know if Philharmagic will be going during the parties...not everything is open party nights but I'm sure someone who goes to a party in the beginning of October can fill us in.
I went Halloween night last year and it was pretty crowded. Of all the parties I've been to (2 MVMCPs) it was by far the most crowded. I always go off season and it was more busy than any day I've ever gone. But I knew that Hallween night would be pretty crowded before I went (thanks to these boards) so I was prepared.
Even though it was packed, we still have a GREAT time! Almost everything was open even Toontown which hasn't always been open in the past. The trick or treat lines went VERY fast even though they looked long.
If you get lots done while the first parade is going and wait and see the second parade, I think you'll get lots more accomplished.
We focused more on it being Halloween and trick or treating than the rides.
This is what we did:
Dinner at LTT then quickly got our photo done right across from LTT and we were first in line. Headed right to Haunted Mansion and didn't have much of a wait. Then we trick or treated our way through Fantasyland, Tomorrowland then to Toontown. We stopped in Toontown to ride the Barnstormer twice and then we headed back through Fantasyland (about 1/2 hour before the fireworks so about 8:45p?) and it was PACKED. We couldn't ride anything. Our DD got sick right in Fantasyland so we spent the whole fireworks time cleaning her up. Then we headed for a seat for the second parade. (boy was it going by fast!) Of all the parties I've been to, this was the most crowded 2nd parade I've seen. We got there about 1/2 hour before it started and had to be quick to get one of the last spots. It was a GREAT parade though. Don't miss the Headless Horseman! Then most people were heading toward the exit so you could probably run and do more rides with not as many crowds but we had to leave because of our DD being sick.
Hope my experience helps you. I don't mean to scare you but just want to prepare you. People have different experiences/stories to tell and may have encountered no lines; it's all subjective. It all depends on where you were hanging out in the park at what time, IMHO. For example, maybe Adventureland or Frontierland weren't busy...we never went over there so we wouldn't know...
For us, Hallween night was more for taking in the Halloween atmosphere and festivies than trying to do lots of rides as it was just too crowded for us. But we didn't mind because our DDs only wanted to do Trick or Treating anyway!
Hope this helps and sorry for the rambling!
Any more questions?
