Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central!

Thanks for the link. All the info here and at other sites has been so helpful. We have decided on some of our costumes. We will be a party of 12, and I think most of the adults aren't dressing up.

DS (10)-- Solider
Niece (16 mo.)-- Cinderella (BTW my sister got a great deal on a costume off ebay. It was new w/ tags from Disney Store. She only paid $11.00 with shipping)
DH (old lol)-- Doctor
BIL-- Prince Charming (He's Niece's dad).

We will be there Halloween night. I couldn't come on too much this week, so it was nice to see my counter w/ some days off!!!

This may have been covered and if so, I apologize.

I am curious as to how successfully the park manages to handle the guests between 6:00 to 7:00.

Which lands are still open and how difficult is it to get on an attraction?

They handle things VERY well during that hour; it's amazing! While they are ushering non-party guests out, they direct party goers to either Fantasyland or Tomorrowland and if you have a wristband then they let you go on the rides. I've heard that not everything is running 100% but most are.

Thanks - very informative. I was not sure what to expect here and we have quite a few going so I wanted to gain a better understanding in order to devise a psuedo plan of attack.

Are the guests really jam-packed or is pretty manageable. We probably will be in Tomorrowland but that's optional at this point.

It would be a great time to catch alien encounter or Mickey's philharmagic (except I believe AE is closing for rehab). If anyone has an experience to share during that 6-7 pm window, particularly on halloween night I'd really appreciate hearing about it.

I don't know if Philharmagic will be going during the parties...not everything is open party nights but I'm sure someone who goes to a party in the beginning of October can fill us in.

I went Halloween night last year and it was pretty crowded. Of all the parties I've been to (2 MVMCPs) it was by far the most crowded. I always go off season and it was more busy than any day I've ever gone. But I knew that Hallween night would be pretty crowded before I went (thanks to these boards) so I was prepared.

Even though it was packed, we still have a GREAT time! Almost everything was open even Toontown which hasn't always been open in the past. The trick or treat lines went VERY fast even though they looked long.

If you get lots done while the first parade is going and wait and see the second parade, I think you'll get lots more accomplished.

We focused more on it being Halloween and trick or treating than the rides.

This is what we did:

Dinner at LTT then quickly got our photo done right across from LTT and we were first in line. Headed right to Haunted Mansion and didn't have much of a wait. Then we trick or treated our way through Fantasyland, Tomorrowland then to Toontown. We stopped in Toontown to ride the Barnstormer twice and then we headed back through Fantasyland (about 1/2 hour before the fireworks so about 8:45p?) and it was PACKED. We couldn't ride anything. Our DD got sick right in Fantasyland so we spent the whole fireworks time cleaning her up. Then we headed for a seat for the second parade. (boy was it going by fast!) Of all the parties I've been to, this was the most crowded 2nd parade I've seen. We got there about 1/2 hour before it started and had to be quick to get one of the last spots. It was a GREAT parade though. Don't miss the Headless Horseman! Then most people were heading toward the exit so you could probably run and do more rides with not as many crowds but we had to leave because of our DD being sick.

Hope my experience helps you. I don't mean to scare you but just want to prepare you. People have different experiences/stories to tell and may have encountered no lines; it's all subjective. It all depends on where you were hanging out in the park at what time, IMHO. For example, maybe Adventureland or Frontierland weren't busy...we never went over there so we wouldn't know...

For us, Hallween night was more for taking in the Halloween atmosphere and festivies than trying to do lots of rides as it was just too crowded for us. But we didn't mind because our DDs only wanted to do Trick or Treating anyway!

Hope this helps and sorry for the rambling!

Any more questions?

I've also heard they sometimes run an extra showing th Twas the Night before Xmas in Tomorrowland for those waiting for the party to start. That is a great added bonus!

Ummmm I think you posted that on the wrong thread..Night Before Christmas show is during MVMCP!!! ;)

crusader...Halloween night is pretty crowded, but there are only so many tickets sold so it's not peak season ,sea of people, unbearabley hot crowded!!! :) There will be waits for things but in my past expriences, this will be our 8th MNSSHP, that it has historically thinned out very well the last hour, where we could get several rides in that time.I'm not promising anything in Fantasyland though! OY,there always seeemed to be a line for everything but Small World!!

Happy Haunting!!

ooops! I was going back and forth between a MVMCP thread and a MNSSHP thread and forgot what I was replying to for a minute. I've fixed it.

Hi, All.

Sorry if this was covered earlier in the thread, but 20 pages is rather daunting to read through. I read that there were discrepancies as to whether the typical complimentary photos were going to be happening during MNSSHP this year. Was this ever determined one way or the other?

beattyfamily (and baloo) -

Thank you for that post. It was an excellent summary of what I have come to learn so far and very helpful - I will plan accordingly.

Should be a great evening! It sounds as if the parades are equally crowded (word must be travelling) so we'll decide on that once we're there.

Since you were dining at LTT it appears you weren't in the holding areas before the start of the event. Hopefully someone else can assist. It would be great to ride something(s) during that hour if at all possible.

thanks again.

Photo ???? I've read a number of posts about the photo but never an explaination of what it looks like. Are there props? Backgrounds? Charactors?? Thanks!

They provide a festive background only--our background had ghosts with Mickey hats on and pumpkin Mickey heads too. When you receive the picture, they put a bottom border on it and it says "Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party" and "Magic Kingdom 2003"

Very cute souvenir!

Hi all!

I'm also wondering if the rides will be going in Fantasyland from 6-7pm or if we just wait there for an hour? Anybody know for sure?
Thanks!!:D

I have PS for LTT at 5pm. If for some reason we are not out by 6pm- will they let us go to the land that is left open to ride the rides?

KatieKate16...basically the same.I think one year a location had orange as the main color another black. What the backdrop looks like to me is a big piece of wood totally covered in wrapping paper! We have one that is an orange background with ghosts, blackcats and bats scattered all over it.Every year it's had the MNSSHP and year on the border which is nice way to remember the year.

Does anyone have anymore info on the Haunted Hayride at Fort Wilderness? I seen they have dates out. We will have nothing going on 10/30 & 11/1. I was thinking of looking into this. Anyone know if you make reservations? Ages it's appropriate for? Is it only available to those staying at Fort Wilderness? Any info. would be great. Thanks.
