Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central 2004!!!!!! =0)

I have a question about the October 3 MNSSHP.
The October All Park Hours info states that on October 3 WISHES is at 9pm and Spectromagic is at 8pm. I didn't think WISHES or Spectromagic took place during the Halloween parties? I thought the fireworks was a special halloween version and there is a halloween parade? On October 1st there is a party and it has 'none' for wishes and spectromagic

Can someone please sort this out for me!
Thanks :teeth:

It sounds like a typo to me. We are also attending MNSSHP on 10/3. We attended last October as well. Wishes and Spectomagic didn't occur during the party. The special Halloween parade happened twice (once at 8 and once at 10), and the fireworks were around 9 and it was Halloween themed (although in the round like the Wishes performace).

I was trying to read all the pages, but there are so many my eyes started to glaze over...

Do I need to worry about the 3rd selling out? We have ressies for PC, but this is a trip we just planned for quick get away without the kids and my hubby is still not too sure about it for work.

Would we be safe buying the tickets at PC that morning of the party, or no?

If you do order in advance do you get anything fun in the mail? Any info, etc.?

Can adults wear Disney inspired costumes, or no?

Thanks!

I tried to get LTT for Sunday Oct 3rd, but of course it was sold out when I called last week so instead I booked Ohana's (we have never eaten there) for 5:30pm. Do you think we will have enough time to eat and make it MK for the start of the party at 7:00?

I don't know about the 3rd selling out from all I have read I think people just need to worry about Halloween and dates close to Halloween selling out by mid September or so.

You don't get anything special in the mail at least I didn't and if you purchase the tickets ahead of time they are a few dollars cheaper

Of course adults can wear costumes :)

Hope that helps!

You get plastic cards in the mail with a character on it for the Halloween party. The cards are bar-coded on the back like a park hopper pass. We got 2 Donalds and a Minnie for this year's party (10/3). My sister got Mickey and Minnie for the same party. There isn't anything else included with the tickets except a letter.

We didn't eat at MK last year and probably won't this year either. We ate before going to the party, because it was our first time and we wanted to take in the whole park, decorations etc and not worry about spending a lot of time eating dinner. This year there are 13 of us attending and we're meeting up at the party after having spent the day doing our own thing. We took a break in the afternoon before the party and rested - I would highly recommend this. My daughter (and us) recharged enough to make it until the end of the night (midnight).

All 3 of us dressed up last year for the free photo they give and because it was our first time. This year only my daughter is dressing up, but I've been known to throw something together at the last minute if the mood strikes. There were plenty of adults dressed up last year, and all of us trick or treated.

You can buy tickets the day of the party. They are more $ to do this. Not sure if they're close to selling out for 10/3 or not at this point.

We've never been to the "party" before and we will be there this year from Oct 23 -30.

We are budgeted pretty tight for this trip but is it worth it to spend the extra and go to the party for the night?? I was thinking of trying to go on the 24th or the 29th... We are taking extended family with and they will NOT spring for extra tickets (they won't even go to a water park but whatever...) but I thought of taking our kids, ages 10, 6 and 4 .....

I think I read somewhere on here the hours are 7pm-midnight?? I couldn't find any hours on the Disney website...

So it's worth the price of the extra tickets? I've been reading posts and I am still on the fence - please help push me over :)

thanks everyone!!

To me, the MNSSHP is absolutely worth it... and I have not been to one yet...!

We might even do it twice in one week. I already bought my tickets, and we are really looking forward to it.

From what I have read, the lines for all the rides will be short, and there are many more rides open than on an e-ride night. I chose a weekday, hoping that it's even less crowded.

I love Disney parks at night, and since most of the parks in Orlando close so early, its my only opportunity to spend night time hours riding rides.

Yes, the hours are 7-midnight, with two parade times, trick or treating, and fireworks as well.

Your dates might be a little more crowded than mine, but from what I have read, even halloween night is comfortable, crowd-wise.

Tell your extended family to enjoy their evening back at the resort, and be sure to fill them in on all the fun you had at the MNSSHP ;)

I say go for it :)

We went for the first time last year with my then DS9, DS6 and DD4. They had a blast and were so excited to find out that we were going back this year. The mood, lighting, special effects, fireworks, etc. that they do only on these nights are so cool! Also, we enjoyed the shorter lines. We went on the 31st last year (which was sold out) and the lines were VERY short. We did a lot! I know it's extra money, but someone once told me "once your cross the Floriday state line, there is a direct relationship between time and money"...........it's worth it!::yes::

As you can see from the signature, we are fans of MNSSHP. The lines are short and I think you can ride as many rides at the party as in a full day during most times of the year. We've ridden every ride that is open and many of them several times in a row with little or no wait, especially towards the end of the night (altho I don't know if you could do that with a 4 year old, we had trouble staying to midnight until our daughters got closer to 8 or 9). I also agree that the parks are neat to be in at night and that is not possible unless you go in the summer and fight those crowds. The parade and fireworks are unique. The costumes and the decorations give the park a different and festive atmosphere. Almost all the kids wear costumes and close to half of the adults. I even wore a costume last year and that is saying something. If you or your kids want a lot of candy, you certainly can get it trick or treating.

In summary, I can't think of a reason not to go (other than the cost) and obviously we think the cost is worth it.

I see where others are going to MK that day and staying for the party. Personally, I think that is too much MK for one day and detracts from the experience. I would do something a little less stressful - a water park or mini-golf or a half day at a different park and then time at the pool, etc. and save yourself for the party.

I guess there is one reason not to go -- MNSSHP spoils you for going any other time of year. We haven't been to WDW anytime other than October for probably 7 years.

Sould I bring a bag for my boys to trick or treat or does Disney give them a bag when entering? I'm sure I'll have plenty of Disney bags :p to spare one or two for the treats!

We're attending the party on the 3rd, but I was wondering about the 1st at the MK. We were planning on spending the day there on Friday, but now that the calendar is out, it hit me that we wouldn't have the Spectromagic option, as well as I wondered whether it would be chaotic from 4-6 when early party attenders are arriving.

What is the atmosphere during the 4-6 bewitching hours? I know Disney does everything well, but I don't want to feel like we're being rushed out the door. The word "corral" is used so often on these pages, I wonder if they are corraling the park guests out as they are corraling the party guests to Tomorrowland.

Any insight or advice from those who have been there on party days when not attending the party?

Thanks for all the great advice from those with experience and especially to Baloo for starting the thread and keeping on top of the Q&A!

So from what I've read, the Halloween fireworks are different from Wishes? I'm trying to figure out what other nighttime shows to see later in the week. Do Spectromagic & Wishes play every night?

Thanks.

Yes, they pass out trick or treat bags when you give your tickets and get the wristbands.

We are soooo close to joining many of you on the 3rd of October! I'm getting excited just by reading all of the posts. We went last year on Halloween and it was fun, but we were rather tired because we flew in that day, that's why I'm thinking that Sunday night is a better choice for us.

We came to the Halloween party after eating with the Princesses at the GF and it wasn't fun being herded into Tomorrowland, I don't know how it could be better, but, disneygoof, I think you're being kind when you say that Disney does everything well. The party is fabulous. DH who doesn't particularly like Halloween is the one that keeps saying "I think I can still get decent fares," this is after we absolutely decided no parties this year, we went to both last year. My my, those DVC points are burning a hole in our budget.

During the fireworks......a witch flies over the castle. Very cool!!

how many people are going on oct 3? we have ps for cp at 5:30pm that night then off to the party . party of 5 dw,ds6,dd4,ds2 and of course me:bounce: :Pinkbounc :p

My Dh, A friend and I. And a family of 3 from MI will be there at 5.30 on 3rd for CP

Add us to the list of 10/3 party-goers. Last year, only my family (3 of us) went to the party. This year, I've managed to convince 13 friends and family to join us. It's more than worth the extra $$ just for the ability to ride the rides without much waiting. Add in the added benefits of mood, lighting, trick or treating, characters in costume, the very cool parade etc. and it's pretty much a no-brainer. I agree with a previous poster who recommended not going to MK the day of the party though. We went only that night and it was magical. We plan to do 1/2 day at MGM that day, then enjoy the hotel and rest before the party. We don't even eat at MK so that we can just enter the park and begin the party. If you don't have a PS at MK, I would recommend arriving around 6:30 pm to avoid the "coralling" situation.
