Mickey's Merry Christmas Party

So We are waiting to get the approval from Dh job for our surprise christmas trip for our kids ages 13,12,8,and 3. SO What is this Mickey's Merry Christmas party?

You have to buy special tickets right?

Is this only for those buying special tickets are when you are in the park you can see it?

I am really confused and would love some help! As we are going to have to plan fast if we get the okay!

We got tickets and will be our first time going. Yes you have to buy tickets ) totally separate from park tickets). From what i understand they close the park early and then you can enter with your MVMCP tickets. i think you get a wristband. Only people with the wristband can stay in the park.

The party starts at 7:00 - special parade and fireworks + some other holiday activities. If it is anything like the Halloween parties i've gone to in the past, you can get in as early as 4:00 with your party ticket (they will give u a wristband) - lines for rides during the halloween party were almost walk on - hoping for the same during the christmas party.
We'll be there for the first time this year.

MVMCP is simply wonderful - if you make sure everyone has enough food and enough rest before and during the party. It goes from 7p-midnight with so much to see and do you won't be able to get it all done (at least we weren't able to the last time we went, we ended up splurging for tickets and going another night). The parade is not to be missed, it's Disney and Christmas together in the most perfect way. The characters are dressed in their holiday finery, there are wonderful shows, 'snow' on Main Street, free hot chocolate and Christmas cookies, too. Plus you can ride the rides that are open with shorter lines if you can find the time.

If you have the chance to attend a MVMCP please do! I'll bet you won't regret it. My 9 year old daughter and I will be there on December 9 with my sister and her 7 year old son. We can't wait.
