Hallowishes is just awesome! Apologies for the rain spots on the photos. It rained the entire evening at this party.

Wow 2Tiggies - fabulous pictures of MNSSHP!

We have been to the party a number of times over the years -- and are undecided if we will go again this September.

BUT seeing those pictures is making me remember all the not to be missed things at the party -- I think we will have to attend again.
Thanks for sharing! :goodvibes

Thanks Lee - I know have the parade song suck in my head without even hearing - just seeing the photos brings it back...
:rolleyes1

I hate to sound negative here, but I would think twice on whether to attend depending on the date. We visited the last party of 2013 on the 1st November. Yes, it was sold out, and yes, it was ridiculously crowded.

Saying that they let fewer people into the parties than in a regular park day might be statistically true, but guests tend to be concentrated around the 'hub'- the castle and Main Street USA. It was ridiculously crowded- people were at standstill a on pavements and we couldn't get through.

The trick or treat lines were terribly long- we waited half an hour at one for a few scoops of candy. The character lines were also very, very long- we had time to see two characters- Rapunzel and Flynn.

People find spots for the parade very early- we saw some from about 4:30pm. They then stayed there until 10pm for the fireworks- so we had no chance of a good spot for the fireworks or Villains show. We managed to get a 'good' spot literally three rows back for the second parade, but people kept pushing infront of us- it was very annoying.

Generally, we encountered some pretty rude guests that night. We came prepared for the crowds but still left very disappointed. We barely saw the parade, missed half the fireworks being stuck in a queue and couldn't see the villains show due to several hundred adults standing up, some of them with children on their shoulders.

I would say it would be enjoyable visiting on a much less busy day. We felt a little conned and like it wasn't value for money- in fact that Disney had crammed in as many people as they could- which made the experience unpleasant.

The one thing that is great about it is the short ride times. Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and BTMRR were all walk-ons. This is because everyone else focuses on the party exclusive events. We rode Space Mountain three times in a row without waiting and moved onto Splash Mountain.

I will also say the dressing up aspect is very fun, especially when adults do it! We saw some hilarious costumes and some really impressive ones- overall it was lovely to dress up (although beware of the heat when choosing a costume- even in November that night was close to 30 degrees! :)

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at the party

we've done 6 so far, including a sold out night, but we never felt overcrowded.

It's true that guests tend to concentrate at certain spots. The good news is that the hub is being reworked (it's an ongoing refurb that will last into 2015) in order to add external pathways to allow for better guest flow during busy nights.

We never had any problem seeing the parade or the fireworks even on sold out night. We even were able to claim a spot for the second parade, near the turkey leg cart in frontierland at the announcement for the headless horseman ... that's pretty short notice.
As long as you know you should not be around Main Street or the Hub at parade and fireworks time, you're safe. (IMHO Happy Hallowishes is better from California Grill's roof or from the Poly beach, we take advantage of the short ride lines, and the trick or treating, as long as you let some time pass before starting this activity. Guests are crazy when the party starts, you need to let the lines thin a bit. We usually get walk on candy lines mid-party.

Agreed on the dressing up.

here we are on our 2 2013 parties

It's a shame you didn't have a good experience but it was almost guaranteed that the last party would be packed. Did they not have two parades the night you went? Whenever we have been, there have always been two and the later one is nearly always less busy - we've not had a problem finding a space to watch as late as 15 minutes before the parade started.

Wow, awesome photos. Makes me want to go & haven't even booked our holiday yet. :) and loving the outfits.
What camera have you got 2tiggies?

Amazing photos 2Tiggies. :goodvibes

Can't wait to do this again, now just deciding which date to do, we are in Orlando 29th Sept to the 18th but only go to Disney from Universal on the 4th. May however do a party while staying at Universal.

Hmm Friday or Sunday I heard Thursday's are the nights to avoid.

When we went in 2008 the party was amazing and in my opinion worth every extra dollar compared to the Xmas party. pixiedust:

Thanks guys. I was hoping to sell the party to the OP, but they haven't been back yet. And I don't even get commission for this :rotfl: We really love the party and for us it's always been money well spent.

Chmurf, I love your costumes. You were a bit more creative than us. We wore the same ones to all three parties that trip

Is something funny, Kenny? :rotfl:

Mummy Minnie, I have a Nikon D7000 although I think those photos may have been taken on the D90 - I'd need to check.

We have found Sundays to be better than the Thursdays, but with that said we've had a sell out Tuesday night before so there is no hard and fast rule. If Sunday night is an option it would be my choice as long as it's not over the Columbus day weekend. :goodvibes

Haha 2tiggies you've sold it to me - il be there with bells on (or similar costume) lol

So Lee on that basis in your professional opinion (having done more parties than me :rotfl2:) would you recommend either :

A) the Friday before Columbus day, or
B) the Thursday after Columbus day ?

Sunday doesn't seem to be an option over our dates

I'd probably go with the one after as most schools only get the weekend off. It's so hard to even try guess now though.

Ok so given that today I've snagged a BoG ADR for the Friday before at 4:35pm lets see whether I can procure a better timed ADR for BoG for the Thursday after and if I can then that will be the deciding factor ......... seems good enough to me.

Also now I'm in my 180 +10 window I can actually take full advantage of it as today I was only 187 days from when I wanted my ADR, where this Wednesday I will be at the full 190 days out.

Thought I would share our photo too, Halloween 2012. Loved it so much going back this Halloween and 2015

Can not figure it out. Well have to wait until DH gets home to help me.:confused3
