Anxiously awaiting when tickets will go on sale but , in the meantime, I'm looking to have the following questions answered. I just asked 2 disney cast members on the disney parks website in a live chat and they had no information on when tickets go on sale:

Apologies if some of these are dumb questions but Ive never been to the party before:

Are rides open during the party? all rides? select rides?
if rides are open are waits shorter than during normal operating hours?
if rides are open during the party, is fastpass available?
how much does DVC discount the halloween party tickets?
are discounts offered if you go to the party on halloween night, oct 31st, itself?
if you are already in the magic kingdom before the party, do you have to leave and come back in again during the hours of the party?
if you only go to the magic kingdom during the hours of the party.. do you only need the party ticket or do you need a theme party ticket plus a party ticket?
Does it work differently if you are at the magic kingdom before the party..do you need a theme park ticket and a party ticket or only a party ticket?

Some rides are open. Event map will list those that are open.

Typically, yes.

if rides are open during the party, is fastpass available?

No.

how much does DVC discount the halloween party tickets?

Last year it was $9 less than date of pricing.

are discounts offered if you go to the party on halloween night, oct 31st, itself?

No

if you are already in the magic kingdom before the party, do you have to leave and come back in again during the hours of the party?

No. They will have locations setup where you can get a party wristband if you have a MNSSHP ticket.

if you only go to the magic kingdom during the hours of the party.. do you only need the party ticket or do you need a theme party ticket plus a party ticket?

Your MNSSHP ticket will allow you to enter the MK at 4 PM.

Does it work differently if you are at the magic kingdom before the party..do you need a theme park ticket and a party ticket or only a party ticket?

If you enter the MK prior to 4 PM, regular admission to the MK is required.

Yes, rides are open during the party. All the headliners are open and many of the others as well. We found waits shorter than during normal hours but that was a couple years ago, who knows now.

If you are only going to the party, you only need the party ticket. If you are at The Magic Kingdom before the party, you will need a regular theme park ticket for entry.

I do not know know how they are working the transition with the Magic Bands but before they would give you a special wristband to give you entry if you were there before the party started. I'm sure it's much different now.

Last year tickets went on sale at the beginning of May, so I expect this year's will be any day now.

I went last year while testing MB. They were actually recommending that you not put the Halloween Party tickets on your MB as it was creating problems. Something to do with thinking you were park hopping, if you'd already used a park ticket that day....????? I don't really remember for sure, but they've probably worked out that particular bug by now. Anyway, if you were already in the park, they had a spot set up kind of near the castle where you could get your tickets scanned & then get the party bracelet. It would have been nice if they'd set up a few different locations to get the bracelet (like DL does), but I'm pretty sure there was just the one.

I'm sure they will continue with the special bracelets even though they have MB's. Unless they want to shut down MK & clear the park, then allow party guests to enter, they need the separate bracelet. After the party starts they will do visual checks of guests to verify they have a bracelet & should be in the park. And be prepared for them to check over & over & over, like every 5 minutes. (Even though I really understand why they need to do that, it does get tedious.) If they were to rely solely on MB's they would have to scan them each time & it would take forever.

Thanks so much everyone for the quick responses, this is very helpful, this all makes sense. This reminds me when I have done rundisney races and they have the after party, you have a special ticket, big rides are open and waits are typically short..cant wait!!
