Mickey's Backyard BBQ???

What is this like? Is it outside? What is the atmosphere like? Did you like it?

yes, it is outside, but covered. therefore, it can be hot/humid or chilly/cold. the food is served buffet style. the character interaction is very good. there is a cowboy that does rope tricks, singing, line-dancing, etc. we are glad to have done it,but have not rushed to repeat it.

We have a 4 year old and a almost 2 year old when we arrive... Will they like this?

We went with a 9 year old and a 2 year old last year ( both boys) and they
really enjoyed the entertainment. The 2 year old was shy at first, but he is
generally a shy child. The food was OK, nothing spectacular. We won't be doing this show again, only because I found it not worth the high price!
The kids got lots of interaction with the characters though, and they enjoed the roping session.
I enjoyed a few glasses of the beer, which was included while my husband
danced with the kids!

what is all included in the price?

I just booked it yesterday (for Sept. 22) and for my son ( 7 years old) and I it cost $64 - I thought that price was very reasonable.

Food, drinks and entertainment is included.

The day we went it was not very crowded and my kids got a huge amount of time interacting with the characters. My wife got to dance with either Chip or Dale (I can never remember which one it was). My kids got pulled out of the crowd and taught to do some rope tricks.

I'm glad we did it, but like Disney Queen said, we haven't rushed to do it again as we all enjoy the Hoop Dee Doo so much more (and it's air conditioned).

I'm not sure I'd do both the BBQ and HDD the same vacation unless it is an extended one.

The HDD is a blast. The food is basically the same as the BBQ. It's corny humor that kids seem to love. It's crowd participation singing along on some of the songs. There is quite a bit of crowd interaction with the performers.

Let me put it this way. We did the BBQ once. We've gone to the HDD 7 times and are going again next June. It's the same show every time and we still keep going. And we always leave with a smile on our faces.

We've also bought the picture they take of the group each time we've been there. It's kind of neat to see how the kids have changed in the 15 or so years since our first visit to HDD.

hoop dee doo sounds really fun - I hope I am happy with the BBQ - cause we only have 8 nights, and some other chara dinners to do, so proably not enough time for the hoop dee do
