When do the characters come out during this dinner? We have a 9:00 reservation for WISHES cruise and don't want to miss the characters. Thanks!

It's been a while since we went, but if I remember correctly the characters come out fairly early and spend quite a bit of time interacting with the crowd. I do remember it was definitely before sundown when the characters were there and it was July when we saw them, so at least from our one experience you would be ok.

I'd hope someone who has been there recently could add their comments.

For those of you who have done this recently, is it worth it? I've read really mixed reviews. We've done the HDDR twice so I'm going to give that one a rest for a while...thinking about either the Luau or the bbq for this coming trip.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi - we went to the BBQ a little over a year ago - and we LOVED it! The interaction with the characters was worth every penny! And the food was pretty good too - mostly picnic type food, but it was good! My daughter is still talking about it over a year later!

Has anyone done this in the heat of the summer? We have ADR for 6/24 but rethinking it because DW and I don't know if we want to sit outside for 3 hours in the heat.

So. . .if we are leaving at 8:40 to get to the dock by 9:00 will we feel rushed, or would we have seen it all?

Will the Wishes cruise pick you up at FW? If so, leaving at 8:40 would be fine. It's only a couple hundred yards from the BBQ pavilion to the dock. If your wishes cruise is from another dock, leaving at 8:40 isn't early enough.

I don't remember what time the BBQ starts, but I would think you'd have seen most of the show by 8:40. Like I said before, maybe others who have been to the BBQ lately could chime in.

Yes, our cruise is leaving from FW so I figured 8:40 would be plenty of time. I'm still hoping someone will confirm we won't miss much by leaving at this time.

We did last last summer in July. It was HOT, but they have fans all over, so it was okay. While sitting and eating the heat was fine. When we were up dancing it did get hot. We are going again next week, it was the one meal my kids wanted to do again!! The food isn't bad and the character interaction just can't be beat.

When we were there, no one really left early. I think we all left when it was over, as everyone seemed to be having so much fun. However, I think the actual meal is done by 8:30 and the characters do come out pretty early on.

So is the food out when you get there at 6:30? How soon after that are the kids able to get up and dance with the characters? If we leave at 8:50 will we be missing out on a ton or would we have eaten, danced, seen the characters?

Is Wishes at 9:00 or is that when you are supposed to meet the boat? When we've done different fireworks cruises we've had to be at the boat docks 1/2 hour before the boat leaves.

If 9:00 is when you are supposed to meet the boat, then leaving the pavilion at 8:50 would not be a problem to get to the dock.

It's been too long since we went for me to remember how much activity there is the last half hour of the show, but I do remember you'd have plenty of time for character interaction even with leaving a half hour early. And the food is either waiting for you when you go in or it's brought out fairly quickly after you find your seats.
