I have several Mickey Mouse & Tinker Bell Cookie Cutters and wanted to see if anyone would like to share their best cookie cutter recipe. And maybe some decorating ideas also. I would greatly appreciate any ideas.

Thanks

Sugar Cookies
from Grammy

2 c butter
2 c sugar
4 eggs
6 Tbl milk
2 tsp vanilla
6 c flour
4 tsp baking powder
Chill the house. Roll out thin. (Use a combo of 4x sugar & flour to keep from sticking to rolling pin.) Bake at 350.
[NOTE: The directions are exactly as given to me by my grandmother. I just judge the time by the 1st batch & have never written it down...sorry. At least she gave me actual measurements instead of just "flour"! ;)

Another recipe I've used.

Sugar Cookies
Yield: 5 – 6 dozen

1 1/3 c shortening
1½ c sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
8 tsp milk
4 c flour
3 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt (optional)

Cream shortening, sugar & vanilla. Add eggs & milk. Beat until fluffy. Blend in dry ingredients. Divide in half & chill one hour. Roll & cut out. Bake 8 – 10 minutes at 375.

[NOTE: 8 tsp = 2 Tbl + 2 tsp]

I haven't tried this recipe yet, but keep thinking I should. I love citrus flavors! :teeth:

Orange-y Sugar Cookies

2¼ c flour
1 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ c butter, softened
2 Tbl grated orange peel
1 c sugar
¼ c orange juice
2 Tbl lemon juice

Sift flour, baking powder and salt onto waxed paper.
Beat together butter, orange peel and sugar with electric mixer until fluffy. Stir in orange and lemon juices. Stir in dry ingredients until blended. Chill several hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Roll dough to a thickness of 1/6". Cut out with cookie cutters and place 1" apart on cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 minutes, until set and lightly golden. Cool on wire racks.

I always use the sugar cookie recipe from crisco. I get lots of compliments on them. If you want the recipe let me know.
I also make my own royal icing. It makes the icing very smooth and professional looking. I love making cookie bouquets w/ these recipes. I make them for presents all the time..

The Recipe for the cookies and icing would be great. I am going to pick a weekend to try different recipes and decoration and see how they come out.

Thanks for all the help

I've seen pooh and friends (but they were a bit tacky-looking) - I resorted to usinga mickey head egg ring - it makes MONSTER cookies:lmao:

I bought a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter last time I went to WDW, and I was so excited to use it! But then Mickey's ears broke off almost every cookie!:headache: I haven't used it since.
