I'm enjoying your monorail resort holiday decorations tour. It look like I'm about 206 pounds short for the required flour to make my own gingerbread house not to mention I only have 3 eggs in my house. Sorry about that rude CM - glad you said something.

I peeked at your travel/photo blog. I love the layout. It feels like a vintage travelogue. I'll look forward to reading your European adventures.

And since I had to catch up.... Wow! That's some display of fruit at your GF tea. Like Vinnie, I'm a big fan of the tea. I love their scones.

I planned to see the 'old' Poly one more time in December, but that didn't happen. My next Poly pictures will be of the construction in the lobby and of the bungalows out on the water.

Although the water feature in the middle of the lobby was beautiful, it was massive, indeed, and as much as I loved it, I see the logic in bringing it down to have more space for people moving around. The art work I have seen for the new lobby is pretty. I am glad I got to see the past many, many times, and I will always cherish what it was, because it was amazing. I think the new will be lovely, but I don't think it will have the wow factor as before when you walked in and saw that gigantic greenery and stone creation and heard the water falling.

Disney things are often changing - some changes we like, and some we don't. I wish they'd take a little pocket change and do something good in place of Stitch's Great Escape.

What are some changes you and others would like to see at the resorts and in the parks? What are some changes that you have not liked?

Go down around 3 or 4 in the morning and see if you can stick it in your luggage. They probably glue them down.

I do too. It took up a lot of space they could use for walkways or something. I saw that too and it does look pretty.

I SO AGREE. That is terrible. It is space themed over there so why not make it a Star Wars character spot or another SW ride.

I do not like Camp Minnie/Mickey going away but I DO LOVE Avatarland coming.
I would love them to take all of the stunt show and the backlot tour out and make SW Land.
I would love a new theme park that is for thrills only.
I do like the magicbands. FP+ worked well for us.

I went over to the buses at Contemporary and waited a few minutes for a DTD bus. I then was at DTD soon enough.


I love the decorations.


I waited a little bit and got a text from Rosie they were there. It turns out they walked right by me and I did not even notice. She was with her friend Janet.

They were going to Earl so I said I would come over there. The carousel along the way.


Then we finally met. After years of talking on the Dis and FB we met. Here we are.


We stood around talking but they were there to eat so I said I would go with them if they wanted me to and sit while they ate. Janet and I waited in line while Rosie got a table. I ended up getting a Caesar salad.


We ate and chatted and it was a great time. After eating we sat on a wall and chatted. I loved Rosie’s shows.


Then They were going to go shop and I was heading back to SSR. I am so sorry I did not get a pic with Janet.  It was great meeting Rosie finally and meeting a new Dis’r Janet. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.

I walked up front to take the bus. This was there for the walkway. I wish it was open as I would have walked.


After waiting 15 or 20 minutes I gave up and went to the boat. Rainforest Café as I passed it. I have yet to eat there.


While waiting for the boat I had to entertain myself.


I love this pic. I do wish the reflection of Fulton’s sign came out.


So I had to go to the West side to catch the boat to SSR.

I love the balloon ride, especially at night.

The entire process took me an hour to get back to the resort. I could have walked it in 5 minutes had the walkway been open.

Scott, I've been away on a two week Disney trip and just got a chance to get caught up. There's simply too much to comment on so I'll just comment on the last couple of posts. More great Christmas decoration pictures! It's too bad that you ran into such a rude CM and it's good that you let someone know about his rudeness. Yay! for finally meeting that cute shoe footed Rosie!

Be warned, Switzerland is VERY expensive, my sister lives there and we could barely afford to go up the mountain in a cable car when we visited. Wages are really high, even the refuse collectors earn over $70,000 a year

Glad you got to meet Rosie. I haven't kept up thoroughly, so is her Janet friend Janet B who does the Pop Century thread on the Resorts board?

We enjoyed the walk to and from DTD when we stayed at Saratoga, too. Great perk for being there.

DTD is going to look very different in a few weeks than it did last summer. I am excited about checking out the Co-op and getting some pictures of the construction. When they finish Disney Springs, I think it's going to be very cool.

We have a Rainforest café here in Nashville, so that's something we haven't done yet in WDW. There are so many Disney only restaurants we have to check off still. We are thinking about hitting T-Rex one day when we are doing some shopping, if they can get us in w/o a long wait. We're not making an ADR, just if it works out. Our schedule is already packed.

There seems to be more and more talk about Star Wars, and I think Disney will capitalize on it eventually. I'm surprised it didn't come before Avatarland, honestly.

I really wish I had found time to visit DTD in December. But awesome to have a DISmeet.

Aww bummer about no walkway. Most of the time I'd prefer to walk even if it was longer. I hate standing around waiting.

Glad you reported the rude CM. I tend to let those things go and I really shouldn't. Our friend Kristel never does.

I am really sorry I missed all of the resorts. I have to plan another trip in December to see them. Not this year even though we will be in Florida right before Thanksgiving for the cruise Jim can't take Thanksgiving week off. The women all grab that week.

So nice that you got to meet Rosie. I love her TR's, when I remember to read them. I need to make a list of the ones I am following.

Part of the expansion at DTD. They closed that so no one walks along the street. People still do. I follow the rules though.
