The local Lobby here is strictly Fall stuff. Pumpkins, fake leaves, etc. Not even a cartoon spider or a happy ghost. The scariest things are the several different books from the Duck Dynasty codger about how the country is going downhill, and the ghastly inspirational music selection.

You know when the comment was made I immediately thought..wait I've bought stuff there before (always on a sale of course) but I think you're right at least the times I've been it's fall/autumn decor pumpkins, scarecrows, etc but I haven't been to the closest Hobby Lobby in a while so not sure these days.

Our local JoAnn's has the best service, as does the larger one about 45 minutes away. No DMV feeling about either of them. I guess YMMV.

Cheap usually sells better than higher quality - think about all the McDonald's out there!
I'm in JoAnn once or twice a week. Have visited every single store in our metro area when my local store is out of what I need. They are all notoriously understaffed. Slow lines to get fabric cut, slow lines to check out. Take a number and wait. Consistently very slow.

I'm glad yours is better.

ditto. The same way I won't eat Papa Johns pizza or Jimmy John's subs.
I wasn’t even aware those places have issues. Jimmy John’s isn’t a place I frequent but my kids like Papa John’s. Going to have to google that.

I used to live in a city where the Hobby Lobby was located in a converted grocery store. The selection was huge and had stuff that I couldn't find anywhere else. The Joanns was also much bigger than any other Joanns I've seen elsewhere and had a great crafting selection. I miss that city. I live in a much bigger city now but the craft stores are all smaller and don't have nearly as good of a selection.

Michaels of JoAnn's. Our Hobby Lobby just seems old and dirty. Granted you are asking about crafting supplies but one of the things that turns me off at Hobby Lobby is the non-craft stuff like all the decorations, pic frames, etc are just junky. It seems so many have pieces broken, scratches, dings, etc.

I wonder if you've kept up on Jimmy Johns as the person who previously owned the company hasn't owned it since 2019. If your issue with Jimmy Johns was the prior owner and only about the prior owner I can't see why you'd still boycott them.

Based on the quick google search that I did, it seems like Papa John’s is the same—different owners now.
