Personally i agreed with what the Rev etc had to say about racial differences, Michael did break down a lot of barriers.

I totally agree - he was first African American to have a video played on MTV, that would of been a big thing 26 years ago, he made a big impact on both white and black people, just like Obama today.
The fight for racial equality didn't start and end with Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks. Michael Jackson plays a part in African American history, I'm not saying it was a big a part as them however I think the man who spoke had a point that Michael played a part in America voting a African American president.

I know it is going slight off the OP but I am truly sorry but I cannot accept that Jackson played a part in Barack Obama becoming president.

Firstly the American people had had a belly full of Bush, there is not doubt about that and secondly Barack Obama won because he was the better candidate, the way he spoke, the way he put himself across and the policies he laid before the American people.

I think people are just getting carried away with the whole thing and wanting Jackson to be responsible for everything that has made some sort of difference in the world.

Yes some of his music made a difference to his fans but lets be perfectly honest here there was a darker side to him that did him an awful lot of damage over the last few years

I agree Claire however just want to say that I didn't mean that he played a direct part in Obama's election just that he is a part of African American history and its was all small steps.

I can't at the moment - still sad from last night, I already started crying today after seeing a picture of Paris.

There is a clip of Paris that I saw a couple of days ago - not sure which news channel it was, she was singing to her Daddy My only sunshine however she had changed the word sunshine to daddy and when she sang please don't take my daddy away it was so heart breaking. She was only 4/5 in the clip.

I have only seen clips on the news & Gmtv/This morning....can't bear to watch it all again to be honest, too upsetting.

Well i am sorry that i have'nt commented until now on this thread,and to be honest i don't really have much to add-Why??, i tried my hardest to watch this last night+again this morning and i just can't .I watch about 5 mins+breakdown in tears,then have to stop it(i sky+ it)for a follower of MJ for 27yrs it is extremley hard to watch.I have only seen aprox 20 mins footage ,but i just can't do it yet.From what you guys have said it sounded like a wonderful,emotional+heartbreaking memorial,i hope i can watch it pretty soon,but maybe i don't feel like saying goodbye just yet .x.

It will be very hard to watch, it has left me feeling emotional and teary all day today however I hope you get to watch it when you feel ready. I have been thinking about you today hoping you were okay so glad you popped into this thread.
