Now I dont know what to do.

We are going back in Sept to celebrate my 30th birthday. Well my birthday is actually in Nov, but since we will be spending a week in Nov at the ILs (half the country away), other travel during Nov is out. So Sept it is!

We actually were happy to go when the MNSSHP was NOT going on. We did not want to lose a lot of nights in the MK to the party.

So we are planning for 9/20 - 9/28.

Now I see that 9/29 is probably the first night of the party.

I have heard it was really fun & wanted to try it. But like I said, I did not want to lose a whole lot of nights to the party going on.

But now we could shift our travel dates a day or so & be there for the first night of the party. That way the majority of our dates are BEFORE the party starts, so we get our nights in the MK, and we also get to experience the MNSSHP, something we have never done before.

My DS will be 3 when we go & loves the late nights in the parks.

So should we shift our dates & go to the party once?

I voted to change your dates and go. Last year was our first time and we loved it. My middle DD was 3 last year and she had a blast. She almost made it to midnight too. We walked onto almost every ride the night of MNSSHP with the exception of Buzz Lightyear and that was like a 10 min wait, and Peter Pan was like 15 min. We can't wait to go back this year. We had a whole day at Mk too, but we used that day just to re-ride the stuff we really love. During the day of MNSSHP, we went to AK and since they close at 5, we went back to the hotel, changed and ate, and then went to MK for MNSSHP. Have fun.

Everytime we go during MNSSHP we have to attend! Absolutely love love love it!!!!!! If you can change, change. And if you do, Have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Definately change and go. We book in Oct every year because of MNSSHP..and actually this year we are attending it twice..if the dates i've seen are correct once on Sunday and then on Friday..you get sooooo much more accomplished with the light crowds, you get to trick or treat, I've seen characters that I have never seen before..in Oct 2005 we saw Prince Charming with Cinderella in the Tootown Barn! The characters are in costumes..we've seen Pooh as a Bee, Tigger as a skeleton. Mickey as a scarecrow, a cowboy and a ringmaster! Thats to name only a few!

MNSSHP is a lot of fun!! If you can get to it absolutely go. It and the Christmas Party and two of my family's favorites along with the Wine and Food Festival.

Yes, yes, yes....change your dates so that you can attend. It shouldn't be too crowded that first date anyway (hopefully!). We went two years ago and our children (ages 8 and 5) loved it so much that we ended up going a second time during our ten day stay. Our kids were not so interested in the trick or treating stations, but mainly just getting to stay in the park late and ride many rides. It was cool to see the characters dressed in Halloween costumes. I think it would definitely be a lot of fun if you can switch your dates to include it.

WHAT IS MNSSHP??????????? :confused3

Definitely change your dates! MNSSHP is a blast. We did it last year and had the best time. We're going again this year. :cool1:

I had to read this thread and respond when I saw its title. We did MNSSHP thss past Sept. and my kids (and DH and I) loved it. In fact, they were singing "Boo to you" from the parade at the dinner table tonight! I swear! The parade was awesome, the characters were out everywhere and you could pretty much walk onto the rides.

When we realized it would be going on while we were there, I ask my mom who had been about 10 years ago if it was worth it.She's a bigger cheapskate than me and she gave me a quick, emphatic YES!

Make reservations at LTT for an early dinner - the characters dress up. My daughter was dressed as Dorothy and got so much attention from CMs and other guests. GO!

For me it is a MUST DO!! I love MNSSHP!!! Hallo-wishes alone is worth the price of the ticket. The Boo to You parade last year was excellent. Walk-on rides, the atmosphere, characters so cute in their costumes. And I don't know if this was just late at night when I caught it or if it was offered earlier in the evening, but sometime between 11:30 and midnight all the villains came out to play on the castle forecourt with BBW (Big Bad Wolf) as the DJ. They were great!! Too much fun to miss.

Thanks everyone!

Well it looks like we are going to go for it!

We are shifting out departure date 3 days so we can go to the party. We will arrive on a Sat now instead of a Wed.

And DH agreed it is silly to come home on a Sat. So since we shift the dates, we are staying an extra night! Our trip just went from 7 to 8 nights!

Woo Hoo! :thumbsup2

Now if I can only convince DH we should still depart on Wed & just stay the extra days. Yeah, I dont think it will happen since this is going to be our second week this year at WDW, but it is worth a shot. Especially since we probably wont go back next spring because we are planning a move back East. All these things I can use when trying to convince DH we should stay 11 nights instead of 8. Hmmm... This could be tough. :lmao:

But we are deffiently doing the party! And I am excited!

Now I need to come up with some costumes for the family.

Oh you will have so much fun! I have been twice & I am hoping to be able to go again this year. I just love the atmosphere, costumes, characters, I could go on lol Also even though the party does not start till 7pm, you can still enter the park at 4pm using your Halloween tickets. Enjoy!
