It is still correct that to get from the Boardwalk to Wide World of Sports via Disney transportation, we need to walk over to MGM and pick it up there? and then the bus back would be the same, back to MGM?

I just want to add that the buses to/from the Studios to the WWOS stop ar 8:00pm daily, even if there is something going on like a night baseball game.
Also, we came upon a sign for the WWOS bus while walking back to the Boardwalk last June. Never noticed it before. It is on the main walk between the Studios entrance and the walk that continues on to the Boardwalk area.

Yes, you have to go to MGM. We just returned last week and used the bus to get to a ballgame. Getting TO the park was ok, but getting from WWS to MGM after the game was somewhat of a nightmare. I'd advise taking a taxi back to your resort, espccially if there's another event other than a Braves game at WWS. The game let out at the same time the cheerleading competition finished. Hoards of us headed for the bus. We waited over an hour to get a bus to MGM. We could have taken a taxi if we'd grabbed one right after leaving the ballpark, but we waited for the bus for awhile and by then all the taxis were gone. Plus, there was a traffic jam.

I usually think WDW tranportation is quite good, but not this time. I thought they should have anticipated a crowd (with both the game and cheerleading) and had several buses, not just one every 20 minutes or so.

We went to the 7:05 Braves game on March 14th which got out at about 10:00 pm. Getting to MGM and then to Wide world of sports for the start of the game was okay. But I will agree that getting back to MGM after the game was a bit of a nightmare. We were in the second bus to leave with alot more people waiting for the next buses. The bus was packed with no more standing room left. And the traffic getting out of the complex was backed up. The bus driver was nice enough to make sure that there were resort buses there to pick us up at MGM.

The buses to MGM were running after the game for this game, I don't know if they are always though.

I'm a little confused, this will be our first time going home to Boardwalk Villas. Do you mean there are actually two stops for the WWOS bus; one at the MGM gate and one closer to the boardwalk?

We will have a car to take my DD over to her competition at WWOS, but some of our party will want to come over on the bus a bit later than we need to be there, and probably will leave earlier than we do.

no, what was meant was while walking from MGM to BWV they saw the MGM bus stop for WWOS.

The BW/MGM walkway takes you next to the MGM bus depot.
