Does MGM still have a parade. I can't find any information on this. I thought I saw in the video they had a motorcar parade. Years ago when the park first opened I remember a toy story parade. But we never saw the new parade. Have we missed it?

We saw it last year. We were alerted by some great CM dressed as old time police saying to each other "What time is the 3 O'clock parade?" "3 O'clock!" My boys thought it was funny and still ask me "What time is the 3 O'clock parade?"

Just a word of caution: do not plan on this parade being at 3pm. While the MK parade is ALWAYS at 3 (well, if it doesn't rain or whatever), this one can fluctuate, when I was there in August it started at 5pm. Check the times guide carefully. But it is an enjoyable parade, just not as interactive as the MK parade.

Actually, there wasn't a parade when the park first opened around '89-90. There was a Dinosaur (from the tv show) processional sometime around 90-91. Aladdin's Royal Caravan ran from approx. 92-95. Toy Story didn't start until 95 and ran until 97. Then there was the Hercules Zero to Hero Victory Parade that ran only a few months in 97-98. The Mulan parade opened in 98 and ran until 2001 a few months before the current parade, Disney's Stars and Motor Cars opened. It is true that this parade changes it's time constantly. It depends on the park hours and the time Fantasmic runs.

Wow I didn't realize MGM has been open since 89. I guess it was just a new park to me. LOL Thanks Snowsdad for the link. I was looking on the disney webpage this am and couldn't find anything. Sometimes my mind goes on vacation without me.

This parade is great if for little kids who like Disney movies.

The parade sounds like fun. But, what are the interactive pins? How much do they cost? And...is it worth getting them?

Thanks
Shelby

The pins are $15, and light up during certain "Magical moments" like the parades, certain rides, etc. You have to be near whatever it is for it to light up from what I understand....like if you were in Epcot, just because the parade started at MGM wouldn't make any difference to your pin. Illuminations however, if you are near WS, could have a different effect.

I don't have one. I'm a cheap college student. I do have a modest pin collection, but this just isn't something I'm willing to pay for, and they're also quite bulky, at least I think so.

I just saw this fun parade last Tues. at 5pm at my favorite spot - the shady steps at the empty ?ABC building?. I got there 30 minutes early and it wasn't too crowded yet. (But was soon packed!) This was great because there were entertainers before the parade right in front of us and a street actor guy on a microphone describing the parade and even dancing with some of the characters. It was really fun. I got great photos from a relaxed, seated position. What could be better??

Where are good viewing spots for this parade. (I assume from the ABC building, you mean the one near Indy?) We tried near the beginning of the route down by Star Tours, but it was about 15 people deep down there - we gave up and just didn't watch that one. I would like to take DD next summer though.

Last year we nabbed a bench right under a tree across from the Disney Radio studios. Great spot! No one can try to stand in front of you, you're in the shade --every now and then you get hit with a little mist from the sprinklers back behind the trees, and you get perfect pictures of the parade. The kids got lots of interaction with characters too! :Pinkbounc
