MGM crowds and evening EMH

We are considering going to MGM for its evening EMH during our trip.
Our boys really only want to ride the two main attractions(ToT and RRC)
, and then we will probably have dinner depending on whats still open. We've decided to spend the majority of our our time in the other parks this trip.

How are the crowds during evening EMH on a Monday night, and would it be a smart move to do this?
Or would it be better just to run over one morning and let them get these rides out of their systems before the park gets crowded for the day?
:confused3

The days we went for EMH it was packed ALL DAY. However, we observed that most everyone tries to get in to see Fantasmic so if you were to ride those rides you wanted to go on DURING Fantasmic I would guess the lines thin out considerably. Otherwise, I would get a fastpass because on EMH that park was slammed the whole time!

I've done EMH evenings at MGM 2x, and based on those 2x, I'm kind of the "No thanks!" opinion. :sad2: The only thing we were able to get in without a long wait during EMH was Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Even with GMR, we waited about 40 minutes (and that was after the crowds thinned some!) in 2005. It's helpful to finish up things you missed, but it's still a pain because so much of the park is closed, so crowds are more concentrated vs. at MK, for example. Epcot seemed to be a disaster as well for Soarin' (can't speak to the other big draws-- Test Track and M:S-- as I wasn't on that side of the park), but for things like SE or UoE, it's a good thing.

Personally, we found EMH evenings at MK and AK to be most helpful (AK namely because of the extra show of FotLK and Everest-- we only waited 8 minutes w/o a Fastpass!). :woohoo:

I personally am hoping that if we open the park on an evening EMH day that we will be okay. I am thinking that those who plan on staying late won't be there so early in the a.m. and that we can get there at opening and see what we want to see before the crowds show up. Then we can be off to the resort to be lazy and then go see Spectro at MK.
Any thoughts/feedback on this plan?

Great plan cdrn1................
By getting to any park at opening you can get a lot done before the big crowds arrive later in the day.
I don't know when the original poster is planning to visit WDW, but we were there last June. The only thing I can say about the evening EMH was ...Don't Bother!
We tried the EMH for the Studios and only got to ride the TOT because I overheard a CM tell someone they were going to re-open the FP machines for the EMH. After using the FP the wait times for everything in the park was insane and the next FP return time was way into the night.
Always go EARLY.......you will be glad you did.
