There is definitely an animation class available at the end of The Magic of Disney Animation attraction. It is called the Animation Academy. My older son & I visited this attraction and took the animation class twice while my wife took our younger son to the Playhouse Disney show.
Each person sits at a desk with a large sketch pad and a pencil. It seems the room accommodates about 30-40 in each class. It is pretty fast paced, as the instructor leading the class moves quickly. If you get behind, you better be good at multi-tasking (drawing & listening) because the class is on a time schedule and the instructor doesnt slow down. When we went last October, there were only about 8-10 people in each class with no one really waiting to get in. My son (age 7) got frustrated with the rapid pace of the instructions because he fell behind as we were trying to draw Minnie in the first class. He eventually quit and just watched me. He wanted to do it again, so we immediately returned for the next class. He was more prepared for the pace the second time and did a much better job drawing Goofy.
The Magic of Disney Animation is a nice little attraction that has the bonus of giving you a free souvenir. I plan to take the class again when we return in October.
