My family and I are traveling to DHS in August. This is our first time (finally) seeing Galaxy's Edge. I read that the single rider line recently opened up again. I have been careful to stay away from spoilers, but I do know people say the queue is pretty cool and there's a greater chance of being pilot if you go via standby. (Though, as I've stayed away from spoilers, I don't really know why. :rotfl2:)

But I want to try and maximize our day, as we haven't seen Toy Story Land or M&M RR since those attractions have opened.

We have a nearly 11yo who is pretty mature for her age. Esp with no FP and because she is pretty mature for her age, I am considering SR lines for the attractions that have them. I am familiar with the exit situations for other SR attractions but not MFSR. Is there a convenient meeting point once you exit the ride? (Say a gift shop or some bench areas.) Would it be best to have her go in the middle of the SR line so my hubby and I could be bookends with getting off the ride?

Any tips would be great. Thank you!

We were at the park yesterday and Friday!

Yes, immediately after the ride is stroller parking. You have to walk through it to reenter the main park area.

We did Single rider 3 times over 2 days and met our group right there- safe for a mature 11 yo to wait. I would have let my now 19 year old daughter or sons wait there at 11. The ride moves fast and she won't have to wait long.

However, our group of 7 adults chose Single rider every time ( to maximize our ride time) and most often we rode in pairs. So there's a good chance she will get to ride with you.

Single rider was a walk on all three times.

Parent bookends is the plan me and my husband are going to try with our 12 yr old. I also think not getting pilot will help him enjoy the ride more. The stress of driving is something he hasn't mastered lol

I've let my kid go ride rides without me at all since she was 8. At first I'd stand near the exit after putting her in line. Then over time we gradually increased that. Now she is 14 and I let her go to a totally different park. Your child (if mature) should be fine in the same line.
Ironically I trust my child alone but with friends they have to stay within my sight at all times.

I have a question regarding MFSR. We are a party of 6 adults and a 2.5 yo. I think I checked the height requirement and she meets that requirement. Clearly if she is strapped in she won’t be able to reach the buttons. I’m pretty sure I already know the answer but can the 2.5 yo sit on her mom’s lap for this ride?

Height requirement is 38". Don't know about sitting on lap. Disney classifies it as a Thrill Ride with small drops so I would be surprised if a child could be held on a lap. Child swap might be a better option.

That's just my thoughts though as I only rode it once almost 2 years ago so don't remember for sure.

Super helpful. THANKS. I will use the stroller parking zone. Awesome to hear it was a walk-on as well.

Child swap will also mean one kid gets to ride it twice (once with each parent).

I still feel the ride is a bit too bumpy and scary for a small child and I’m pretty sure they had belts and so everyone has to be strapped in separately.

Our almost 2.5 year old is 35 inches.

I don't think lap sitting is allowed. But our 3 year old (sat by herself, met height requirement) was an engineer and that was fine by everyone on board.

I'm not sure what the odds of being pilot are via SR. But via standby, I got to pilot both sides which was awesome (my 5 year old was a little lost).

Us too. At 8 she had land specific freedom. At 10 she had to be in the same park. Now she is 15 she can go anyplace on property she wants. She has to tell me and we have scheduled checking.
