Mexican Riviera July 20, 08...Hola Amigos

Excellent cruise! The weather was nice, the food was good, the shows were excellent, our kids were not so good (in terms of not wanting to spend time in the lab and the club)... Oh well, you cannot expect everything to be perfect.

Because my kids wanted to stay with me & my wife most of the trip, we missed out chances to meet you guys... especially Vern & others. However, I would like to THANK YOU for all the neat door magnets & name tags.

I hope we have another chance to go on the Disney cruise, and perhaps next time we'll be meeting you all.

Thanks again

Ken

Well, we made it back after our 6 hour drive home. I still feel the motion of the boat. It did not bother me on the boat but, now I feel it. We had a wonderful trip. Thank you so much to everyone for the great FE. Alex was so excited going to our door and seeing the new things that had been put up. A BIG thank you to Vern and Karen for all of your work and kindness.

It was a trip to remember.

Thank you all.

Stacey

Hi Everyone,

The four of us are still on a high from the fantastic Mexican Riviera cruise.

We apologize that we did not get to spend much time meeting everyone as we had to rush off to early dinner.

Just wanted to thank Vern & Karen and everyone on the DISboards that shared great information, creative ideas and extraordinary amounts of pixie dust to make the cruise very special.

Diane & I are looking forward to our next cruise in October on the Wonder. However, the cruise meet board for that cruise is no where near as active as this one.

We will long remember our 1st DCL cruise and the wonderful people that made the cruise so memorable.

Cheers!!!

Many thanks for the wonderful Fish Extender gifts! Holly also loved looking for the surprises - as well as walking around the ship and leaving her own surprises.

Thanks so much Vern and Karen for your warm welcome and organizing so many nice surprises. :flower3:

We had such a wonderful trip - we all hated it to end. It is hard to be back to reality after such a magical week. :sad1:

Here's hoping the Magic ends up on the West Coast so we can cruise as often as possible.... :goodvibes

Thanks again,

Corey and family

Hey Guys,

It was a pleasure meeting all of you and it was pure joy participating in the FE exchange and again Thanks Vern and Karen for everything. You are the greatest ! :worship:

This was a wonderful experience for me and my family. Cruising rocks ! I had the best tablemates, wonderful servers who remembered our names and drinks every day and our stateroom host who would fill our collapsable cooler with ice and leave us towel animals everynight. The food I ordered was awesome and the dessert was just heaven. The entertainment was good and I was definitely spoiled rotten. I regret not rebooking onboard but I know for sure I will be planning another DCL vacation for next year.

For my fellow Amigos who are currently under the weather  , here's some pixiedust: to make you feel better. :flower3:

Take care !

Just wanted to add to all the thank yous for Vern and Karen. You two really went out of your way to make the trip magical for all of us and we'll never forget you! :grouphug: (Not sure Joe will ever forgive me for all the fuss over his birthday - but it was fun! :goodvibes )

And thanks to everyone for the great FE gifts. That was so much fun! Both delivering the gifts and seeing what goodies were left every day. I'm so glad I found this thread and got to join all of you! :disrocks:

This was our first Disney cruise but it definitely won't be our last. It was just awesome! It was so nice to relax and be taken care of. We also had great tablemates (hi, Brandy! :wave2:) and great excursion companions (hi, squirrelgirl!).

It's tough getting back into work mode. Somehow my DH also came down with a cold on Sunday (or maybe this was his way of getting out of the unpacking and laundry:laughing:); I didn't notice any sick people on the ship but obviously something must have been going around. Can't imagine how with all the hand washing they had us doing!

Hope to see my fellow DISers on a cruise again soon!

To everyone, Thank you sooo much for the kind words and "thank yous" It was our pleasure to organize this group and FE's. But, really ya'll made it so easy for us. Everyone, outdid them selfs when it came to the gifts. WOW! is all I can say. Laura, thank you and your family for putting up with Karen and I... OK just putting up with me.:worship: You really made our cruise a special one. And to all that gave Karen & I well wishes and gifts for our 25th Anniversary. From the bottom of our hearts, "THANK YOU"!
Sorry to hear that some folks are sick, the only sickness I got was when Karen & I was driving home ( 1 hour 15 min drive) Sunday and knowing that I had to get up Monday morning at 4 AM to go to work. Reality can be a bummer sometimes.:lmao:
It was real fun for us to see all the children of ya'll, having fun with this FE thing. That's why I do this. Love ya parents, but I got to say that the kids are the ones that I really get a kick out of. We just wished we could have done more for ya'll. I have some of your email addresses, some of ya I don't. Drop us a line every once in a while. Let us know how things are going. As I said at the meet now that we all cruised together. WE are all part of the Disney Family. So, Family I ask that what you enjoyed during this cruise with everything that we did...PASS IT ON and improve on it (God knows that it could be improved on). Give someone else the Magic of Disney. Until next time, M-I-C- see ya real soon, K-E-Y why because we like you, M-O-U-S-E.
I'll try and post some pictures of our cruise. Also, for those that went to Disneyland after the cruise, how did things go there?

Sorry I haven't posted but as you all know things can be crazy when you get back home. I too got a small ant invasion while we were gone and it is driving me crazy:headache: I spent four hours cleaning out everything because I am afraid they might have been other places that I did not see them. I know a little crazy but just the thought....:scared:

We too all had a wonderful time. Even my husband did not think about work once on the cruise..which can be a big task. My youngest son said yesterday..."it was like a dream:cloud9: "

Vern and Karen we too appreciate all that you did. I will never forget the fun times we had together. It was great to run into everyone around and I loved wearing my name tag. So many cast members asked me about it. I know a lot of you would say hi to us because you saw the name tag. It was a great feeling to know so many of you. We just wish we had more time. I think by the second to last day we realized we were almost done and there we still so many things we wanted to do. I never did get Breanna to the Mickey pool :guilty: I know there is always next time but the children will never be the same.

Thanks to everyone for the great FE gifts. I had so much fun making the memory books getting ready for the cruise but now on my craft table is filled with wonderful goodies and memories from all of you. My older son is still eyeing all the Nike stuff:idea: I took pictures of all the goodies just so I can remember all the wonderful and thoughtful people you all are. I wish I had a picture of all of us....Next time. I love to scrapbook so it is one of those things. Maybe everyone can post a picture from the cruise of their family? ust a thought.

Thank you all again for making the Disney Magic truely "MAGICAL".

Adios Amigos for now.

We're back in Portland, but had quite an exciting time in Disneyland. How many can say that they were in an earthquake at the Happiest Place on Earth? My DD and I were at the Tomorrowland station, planning to take the train to New Orleans square, when the whole train car began rocking back and forth violently. Of course, all of the rides had to be evacuated and checked, so people were not happy. When we left, the line at City Hall stretched all the way back to the Hub, with people wanting to complain. Like Disney could control an earthquake! I just wanted to go up to every CM I saw and tell them thank you for keeping us all safe.

We LOVED the cruise and all of our DIS friends' decorated doors, FE gifts and just plain MAGIC provided by each, especially Vern and Karen and their efforts to organize us. We will be back, probably not for several years, but we will be back. THANKS DIS FRIENDS!!

Kerri and family

Hi there everyone.

This is the vacation that won't end for us.

We were in Anaheim for the earthquake.....but down the road doing a little shopping. We had left Disneyland an hour earlier and were glad we had done so. We figured it might be a good day to go back in the afternoon as perhaps some people simply left for the day. But, we got busy and never got to test out that theory.

We had some routine doctor appointments, etc. (I like to call it "maintenence") before we were scheduled to return to Japan. It is just easier to do it all in English here in America! Anyway, we extended our trip by a couple of days when my husband's doctor decided he needed a little "short and simple" outpatient surgery. So, we moved our flights from Thursday to Saturday and spent yesterday at the hospital waiting and waiting and waiting (surgeon was 4 hours delayed). Surgery was short (15 minutes) and we were back at our hotel in Anaheim last night. Wow! Never expected to be visiting hospitals during our visit.

Anyway, we are trying to find the humor in the fact that all of us got sick on the Disney ship, we got to experience a moderate quake that was bigger than any we felt in all of the time we lived in Southern California, and then hubbie had surgery -- all on VACATION! We actually took photos of my husband in the hospital for the scrapbook. We actually just feel blessed that we have been all together and everyone is safe and doing well.

I left my husband to rest this morning and took my son to the parks. We did Toy Story for the second time this week as one of the first people in line. We also did the early entry to Toontown (Morning Madness) which was fun for my son. I am glad we had these long parkhopper passes and could come and go into the parks every day.

Anyway, we *really* should be on our way home tomorrow. We arrive Sunday night and then it is back to work on Monday!

What a fantastic week. Our boy was out of sorts for most of the week, but we still had an amazing time. Thank you for all of the kindness you showed us through the fish extenders and an especially huge thank you to Vern and Karen for your warm welcome and sweet surprises throughout the week. Camden is still so excited about his name tag - we can never find anything with his name on it. We had such a good time visiting with everyone and hated that we didn't get to make the meet. Thank you again for a totally special week - knowing you all made it all the better!

Vern - we loved Disneyland. Scott was not too terribly excited about it at first, but we had the most amazing visit and made the most of our limited time. He will have to be in Anaheim for a conference in February, so we are hoping to go back then to do what we missed during our visit. It was definitely loads of fun.

And, to top off our week, we got to experience an earthquake! We were sitting in the airport and I kept thinking, "There is no way an engine is making this building rumble like that." LOL - Then I realized what was happening and why everyone around us was panicked. It took us 5 1/2 hours to get to Atlanta from LA due to storms (We had to hold around Dallas/Fort Worth for an hour before they would let us continue on to Atlanta - it was either land somewhere for gas or let us continue on and they let us continue, but we made it home safe and sound and no worse for the wear, just worn out!

Thank you again everyone - Let's do it again!

Hi, Everyone, Sorry for not writing sooner. We had a fantastic time on our firt cruise. My son Loved it and he is already planning our next one. He would like to try the Carnival Line one because they have 2 water slides. I told him I had to finish paying this one off first.:goodvibes Thanks Vern for all you did to make this first cruise of ours so fantastic. We were lucky we did not get sick on the ship, but, when we stopped at the Holiday Inn in San Pedro for a bit before going to the airport. My son Attila had a omlet and my friend Lauring and I decided to just have some yogurt. Well, Tuesday morning I woke up racing to the bathroom and spent the whole day there. When I called Lauring the next day the same thing had happened to her. It turns out we servived all the food in Mexico and didnt get anything on the ship, but got killed by some bad yogurt once back home. Well at least it didnt happen on the way there. Are we going to be moved on the boards into the Trip Report section? I am still finishing up writing mine and I was not sure if I should post it here or on the other section. Can you let me know.
Well, I have to get back to work, will write more later. Hi again everyone.:yay:

Nora, Attila & Laurine
