Hi there everyone.
This is the vacation that won't end for us.
We were in Anaheim for the earthquake.....but down the road doing a little shopping. We had left
Disneyland an hour earlier and were glad we had done so. We figured it might be a good day to go back in the afternoon as perhaps some people simply left for the day. But, we got busy and never got to test out that theory.
We had some routine doctor appointments, etc. (I like to call it "maintenence") before we were scheduled to return to Japan. It is just easier to do it all in English here in America! Anyway, we extended our trip by a couple of days when my husband's doctor decided he needed a little "short and simple" outpatient surgery. So, we moved our flights from Thursday to Saturday and spent yesterday at the hospital waiting and waiting and waiting (surgeon was 4 hours delayed). Surgery was short (15 minutes) and we were back at our hotel in Anaheim last night. Wow! Never expected to be visiting hospitals during our visit.
Anyway, we are trying to find the humor in the fact that all of us got sick on the Disney ship, we got to experience a moderate quake that was bigger than any we felt in all of the time we lived in Southern California, and then hubbie had surgery -- all on VACATION! We actually took photos of my husband in the hospital for the scrapbook. We actually just feel blessed that we have been all together and everyone is safe and doing well.
I left my husband to rest this morning and took my son to the parks. We did Toy Story for the second time this week as one of the first people in line. We also did the early entry to Toontown (Morning Madness) which was fun for my son. I am glad we had these long parkhopper passes and could come and go into the parks every day.
Anyway, we *really* should be on our way home tomorrow. We arrive Sunday night and then it is back to work on Monday!
