Mexican Riviera July 20, 08...Hola Amigos

Hey everyone?!? Where's all the "Amigos" ? Really need some help here. I need everyone to post their birthdays and anniversaries,(names, dates, ages, and years of marriage) any other celebrating days that will be done on ship during our cruise. I'm putting some things together... not saying what they are, It's a surprise. Also, if there is anyone else that wants to know about the celebrations, they can have the info too, so they can celebrate with you. I'm going to pm Robin for our updates on the lists too. Any questions? It's looking like we will have our First Cruise Meet the day of sailing AFTER the Drill and BEFORE the Sail Away Party ON DECK 10.( more info to come) I'm also putting together name tags for everyone so.... that means I will also need to know everyone in your party/group. I know this sounds like alot of info that you will be putting out. If your not comfortable about giving this info over the thread then pm me or email me at: vrntnns@verizon.net I promise that I will not sell you anything or sell your info to any lists. I just want this cruise to be a "MAGICAL" time for you and your loved ones. I guess thats the cast member that is still me. Once a Disney Cast Member always a Disney Cast Member. Hope you are having a "Magical" Summer!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

You must have posted when I was writting my long post. How's it going? Thanks again for everything. Laura and I are trying to do as well as you would have done if you were still with us. Keep up the good work!

Hi, Vern,
Sounds like you are up to something fun! Just so I'm sure what you are looking for - you just want any special dates that are being celebrated during the cruise, right?

Dany

Hi, Vern,

Dany
Mainly, Birthdays, Anniversaries, but if there is any other special days that will be celebrated on ship, I would like to know that also. (Name(s), years old, years of Anniversary, and day of celebration. For example:
Karen & I = Vern & Karen Tennis 25th Wedding Anniversary on July 23rd.
It's not going to be a big thing I'm doing, just a small momento of your special day. [/COLOR]
Also, no one has spoke of this but I would like to have group pictures done at our meets... what are your thoughts?:confused3

In our cabin is Emilee and Chuck, DS - Dallas, DD - Jade also will be my dad Robert and Stepmom Carol. My dad will be celebrating his 68th birthday on July 20. That is the only special thing going on while we are at sea. Just in case you want to know birthdays are as follows:
Emilee June 12
Chuck October 28
Anniversary September 25

Dallas June 1
Jade September 5

Hope this helps.

I got my Formal and Semi Formal dresses today:thumbsup2

Hi to All.....41 days and counting until the MAGICal cruise to Mexico. I've started planning in my mind what I am going to pack and picking up little things here and there....over the door shoe holder, ginger chews, pirate night stuff, etc....but I have been slightly stressing over the actual Fish Extender. I have been thinking to myself...."what am I going to hang on our metal fish?" I don't sew and I am not a crafty person by any stretch of the imagination. I have looked on ebay...plenty there to chose from, but couldn't make a decision from a small picture....so, I decided that I'd just make my own. Yes, my boys thought that it was quite funny that mom was going to make something :rotfl2: but I pushed their giggles to the side and went for it. After a couple of hours at Michaels buying up all different kinds of supplies and 6 hours later this is what I came up with....
fishextender005.jpg

hopefully the picture will post. I've never posted a picture before so we'll see. I am very pleased with my fish extender....it is a big accomplishment for me....now I am so excited to start gathering gifts to share with others.:cool1:

Hi Robin - Since I know nothing about material and how many yards needed to make anything I went for nylon bags. I bought nylon bags..they are probably about 8"x11", cut the handles off and glued them inside each other. yes, glued!!!:lmao: I did go back and did a very sad looking stitching job inside where it can't be seen for extra support. I glued the ribbon on the sides and the decorations are all scrapbooking stuff. I was surprised at how well the stuff stuck to the material, but I glued everything for extra sticking strength. The letters were the hardest thing to come up with, but they are also scrapbooking materials and I just glued them on too! I actually really had a good time once I got started....as a matter of fact a latte about 10:00 pm and I was still going strong at midnight!! And oh - for hanging it I bought a wide ribbon, cut two lengths the same, folded it over so it would hang on the rod and then did the same type of sad stitching inside each bag so it would hold and couldn't be seen. And that's all there was to it:rotfl: :rotfl:
Hopefully it doesn't fall apart while it is hanging on the outside of our door!

This is what will be going on for dining.....

"Dining attire varies by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general,
most meals are "Cruise Casual" -- no shorts, swimwear or tank tops;
jeans are allowed. Most cruises also have special theme nights. Below is
the recommended attire for your cruise itinerary and is subject to
change:

On 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises:
*Nights 1, 3, 4, & 7: cruise casual
*Night 2: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for
women: gown or dress
*Night 5: pirate night with deck party
*Night 6: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket;
for women: dress or pantsuit.

Dress for dinner at Palo on all cruises:
Men: dress shirt or jacket
Women: dress or pantsuit

At this time we are still finalizing the evening show schedules and
expect to have them available very soon.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!"

......

Please check all info under each heading to be sure I have info correct and add to me what is missing and whom. I added a "special occasion" spot also. I went back to see what I may have missed and added a few names but need more info. Thanks

Wow, Patsy, your FE turned out great! Excellent job! :thumbsup2

My DD is reading this thread with me and, much like your boys, is laughing herself silly over the thought that I might try to make one of these myself one day, but I think you've inspired me to try (next cruise :))

I do need to find some ginger pills/chews. Any suggestions on where to find them?

TIA.

Dany

Hey Robin,

I have to come clean.:rolleyes1 I am the other half of Patsy (Aka Mickey#1Fan4ever). So please remove me from the lists of FE and other things since I am already in for the ride through her.

We picked ours up at World Market. Hopefully what I bought is the right thing....They were in the candy section. I decided I'd try one too....and it tasted terrible, but I guess if any of us are feeling sea sick we aren't going to care what it tastes like.

Hey Robin, your back, how was Disneyland? without the kids!:thumbsup2 You need to put us (Karen & I) on the Fe list (vrntnns). Thank you! Also, IICalifornia jumped ship awhile ago. You have DancingMickeys twice on the list and Laura is Eeyorelvr10. My wife went through the whole thread this past weekend. She is really good at finding the little things.:goodvibes It drives me nuts sometimes. But when I was in college she was great at proof reading my work. I think I'll keep her for another 25 years.:lmao: Thanks again, I know that your getting ready for your cruise. 10th Birthday of the MAGIC. From what I can tell, your ship will be full. Is there any big celebrations going on? Have you heard? In 2005, when we were on the ship for it's 8th, they had Richard Sherman come and give a concert and talk about his brother and his music with Walt. It was a great surprise.
