Mexican Riviera Cruise with WONDERful Souvenir in the Works! 6/7 PTR Link!

I started a blog when we decided to adopt. It was a great way to keep our family (all out of state) informed. When we completed our first daughter's adoption, we used a website that makes your blog into a book... easier than scrap-booking, and a great keepsake for my daughter! Still need to do my newest daughter's book! I still keep up the blog so that our family can "see" the girls growing up! I think it's a great idea for you!

Off topic, I've noticed (from a few of your pics) that you have the Disney Dooney sketch tote. :lovestruc I've been thinking about getting one, but the straps always look kind of rigid and uncomfortable to me. :confused3 Do you like your bag? Is it comfy to carry? Even when loaded up rather heavily? Any problems with stuff falling out since it doesn't zip?

Did you carry a purse around on the ship? I know I won't need as much as I normally tote around, but I'm thinking I'll want my camera on me a lot. (And God forbid I should be without my Burt's Bees chapstick... terrible addiction!) Thoughts? Tips? Thanks!

Following along! The TR is great (I think the excursion looks like sooo much fun!).

Also, congrats on the baby! :)

Congratulations Lesha! That is wonderful news and thank you for sharing it with us on here.

Hopefully the tiredness won't last too long, it didn't in my case :goodvibes

I've been sleeping pretty much all day today! I even had my first bout of morning nausea this morning. Not fun.

Aw, your DH is sweet! Definitely tell him not to worry, totally normal! I was exhausted (and so, so nauseous!) throughout my first trimester, felt amazing during my second trimester, and was exhausted again by third trimester (and beyond...). Such an exciting time though! I love the idea of your blog and would definitely follow it if you started one! For some odd reason, I love reading about pregnancy/babies/parenthood just as much as I love reading Disney trip reports!!!

Awesome! I actually started making my blog today and will be posting it soon!

I had a friend who had her baby the day after Thanksgiving a little over a year ago. She would post on Facebook things like, "I have a Cantoulope today", or "I have a pumpkin", by the time of her baby shower she almost had a beach ball! :lmao: She's petite like you so by that time she was waddling around and so ready to have the baby!

Take good care of yourself!

That's such a cute idea! Ugh, i'm trying to take care of myself and just feel like i'm falling behind on things again like housework, not reading everyone's TR's (including yours:sad2:), etc.

Congrats!!! How fun... the baby stage is great until about the teenage years. LOL... just kidding. My kiddos are great. Enjoy..

HAHA that's the part i'm not looking forward to! :lmao:

I love the cake reveal idea. I'd hire someone only because your SIL might burst knowing something nobody else does. Or maybe that's what I'd do. Haha!

I'd definitely follow your pregnancy blog. That would be wonderful to follow :)

I was thinking a baker too, because i'd like her to be there when we reveal. I'll be posting the link to my blog soon! I got started on it, but don't want to give the link until I have a post.

I would follow along. I love seeing the stages everyone goes through. It is so much fun keeping track of everything when you are pregnant. Start taking belly pics now. :) It is so cool seeing how you change every month. I took a pre-pregnancy picture when we started to try and I look at that picture and one right before I had my daughter and it is just so weird/cool how their was a baby inside of me and my tiny body...haha You are going to love it. I am so excited for you.

I'm going to start taking measurements and pictures tonight so I can document everything and see how big I get (and see how much I need to lose later :lmao:)

I just started the blog, but won't post the link yet until I have a post first. So stay tuned!

Here. This is all you'll ever need to know about parenting.

http://crappypictures.typepad.com/

that was hilarious!! :rotfl:

Hi there again!! Yes, you can tell your DH that being tired in the beginning is completely normal. I found myself lying down on the couch and falling asleep instantly as soon as I would get home from work. It's also good that you're still getting exercise. Just don't push it too hard. Think the pace of a brisk walk for any cardio, don't do anything that really tests your balance (I found myself pretty clumsy when I was pregnant), and nothing while lying flat on your back. I used to do light cardio and very light weights (3 pounds) in the beginning. Then that changed to just cardio and some safe stretches, and finally I was just too exhausted to work out anymore...at about 6 months the first time, and about 4 months the second time (I had a 2-year-old to look after the second time).

Keep getting plenty of rest, keep thinking about how wonderful this is going to be for both of you, and enjoy the whole process. Every step is wonderful, from the time you find out you are pregnant, to that first sonogram photo, to finding out the sex, etc.

If you are having any morning sickness, saltines work wonders first thing in the morning before getting out of bed, ginger hard candies are great, ginger tea is terrific, and just eating small meals pretty frequently. I couldn't touch meat in the first trimester, both pregnancies. Sometimes you may have a complete aversion to foods you normally love, sometimes you will crave something you never really cared for...it all goes away though, I went right back to loving steak again! :rotfl2: If you are not feeling sick, that is great! Not everyone gets morning sickness. I felt a little queasy in the beginning, but nothing earth-shattering, and it didn't last that long at all.

Be well, dream about what the baby will look like (he/she will be beautiful, just like you and your hubby!), and keep smiling!! :)

I've already started slowing down on the exercising. I haven't been on the treadmill or done light weights in about 3 days. It just doesn't sound appealing right now. :rotfl:

I just had my first bout of nausea this morning and it wasn't fun. I was getting ready for church and felt a wave of heat and started to feel like I was going to be sick. I had to sit down for a little bit and take deep breaths for a few minutes until I was able to get up again. I can't wait until I really start to feel the full effect  I'll be buying some saltines this week so I can keep them by my bed in the mornings. I'll also look for ginger candy. Where can I find those? In a Target in the candy aisle? I've been eating non stop it feels like. There has been nothing that doesn't sound good actually. :lmao:

Oh my gosh Alicia!!! Congratulations!!!! When I joined the DIS over a year ago your WDW TR was one of the first that I read and I feel like I have really gotten to know you through all your reports since then and I am just so so happy for you and DH and wish you a lifetime of happiness with your growing family!

Aw thanks Heather! I appreciate it! :goodvibes

Yeah, we're just east of Lancaster, so I guess that's not too far off (I got directions on google maps, and it put it at like an hour and 5 minutes or so) It is always really pretty out here in the summer.. I guess I don't really think about it, because I've lived here my whole life (out in Amish country haha), so I just take it for granted.. but I can imagine that coming over here from the West coast would be really different :)

Also, I think the blog idea is really cute.. I would definitely read it! Good luck and can't wait to hear more! :goodvibes

A few Summers ago, we went to Lancaster to check out Amish Country. Really neat to see the buggies on the roads!

I just started up a blog and will be posting the link soon!

I started a blog when we decided to adopt. It was a great way to keep our family (all out of state) informed. Wow, you're going to have to give me that blog to book website. What a brilliant idea to have a hard copy of a blog!

I LOVE my Dooney purse! The straps are very comfortable and smooth. I've had it on my shoulders many times when i've worn spaghetti straps or halters, and they don't scratch or irritate at all. And I carry the entire world in my bag and it still doesn't bother me. No problems with things falling out. I always make sure to snap the button and put it down carefully so it stands upright. The material is pretty stiff, so it doesn't fold over when put on a flat surface, which is great.

On the ship, I really didn't care a purse around until dinner times, and I'd carry a clutch. Otherwise if we were roaming the ship, I'd put the camera on my wrist or around my neck and have DH carry our KTTW cards. It felt great not having to carry around a purse on the ship.

***Let's get back to this TR and finish it up!***

This was our second day at Cabo, however, it was going to be a short day here, so we decided to just stay on the ship since there really wasn’t anything we wanted to do.

We woke up at 6:15am!

IMG_3702.jpg

Yikes! But I felt completely refreshed and well rested. I decided to brave the gym again, leaving DH to sleep. I was shocked! There were only 3 or 4 people in there! YAY! About 20 minutes later, DH showed up and started his workout. We both got in a great workout. For me, over an hour. But we need to regain all the calories we burned off, so we headed up to the BBB for a little breakfast of coffee, fruits, bagels, and donuts (of course!) It was very light.

I really wanted to do something that we hadn’t done before on this cruise or our last cruise, which is to have a sit down lunch. We checked out the times and saw Triton’s would be open for lunch today so we planned on that.

But it was still too early, so we went and laid out by the pool fairly early, around 9am. But the sun was out and it felt really nice out. We stayed outside for 2 hours and headed back to our staterooms to get showered and dressed for our lunch.

As we were walking to Triton’s for lunch, DH noticed that there was a little ‘golf’ game going on and of course he wanted to check it out (seeing as he loves golfing!) and he played a ‘round’. It was quite a sad turnout. Only 3 people (including the CM running it) were there.

DSC00252.jpg

Looks rather boring to me, personally :lmao:

I pulled DH away so we could finally eat! The menu outside the restaurant

DSC00251.jpg

We got our own little table to ourselves and looked at the menu again.

DSC00253.jpg

DSC00254.jpg

I knew I needed to try the mango soup since I’ve read about it so many times, so I ordered that.

DSC00255.jpg

Obviously, I’m used to hot soups, so I couldn’t get used to the fact that it was chilled. However, it was really good and refreshing. This was probably the only soup I had on the cruise that wasn’t oily.

DH ordered the quesadillas

DSC00256.jpg

I stole a bite and it was very tasty.

For entrees, I ordered the Grilled Halibut, with a Tomato, Olive, and Garlic Sauce served with a Herb Saffron Sauce

DSC00257.jpg

It was really nice. Very flaky and flavorful.

DH ordered the Angus Chuck Burger

DSC00258.jpg

It was VERY good! I was going to get the burger originally but decided to be good and get fish instead.

I didn’t get dessert here because I wanted to go upstairs at the BBB and grab some small desserts. Overall, I really enjoyed having a sit down lunch than a buffet lunch. It was a nice change in routine and will definitely be doing a sit down lunch again in the future!

After we left Tritons, we headed up to the BBB. But first, here’s the other side of the Gingerbread House that I didn’t get a picture of on the first day.

DSC00261.jpg

Once in the BBB, I took a quick picture of the dessert

DSC00262.jpg

I ended up taking a few of each thing. The cookies were really good!

We headed outside to see how the pool situation was looking and how the weather was.

DSC00263.jpg

DSC00264.jpg

It was warm and OH MY was it busy!

DSC00265.jpg

Not a lounge chair in sight! We walked along the top deck seeing how busy it was in all the other areas of the ship and it seemed like everyone was outside lounging around.

We decided to head down to guest services to pre-pay our gratuities before it got super busy. So you don’t have to pre-pay gratuities if you don’t want to, but we decided it was better than taking a bunch of cash with us. What happens is you fill out one of the gratuity forms and take it to Guest Services. What they’ll do is charge your account with the amounts that you put on the form. They will then print out tickets that you put inside the little gratuity envelopes that you’ll get at the end of the night and the tickets serve as a tip, that they can cash out later. After taking care of the gratuities, we went back to the room and nap and relax until the showing of Dreams (which, BTW, got some type of award for best show or something) at 6 that evening.

I guess we were more tired than we thought, because we woke up around 4:45pm. We took our time getting dressed for the night and made our way to the show. Such a great show! Oh man. If you’re on this ship, you MUST see this show. It was really well done. I could see how they got an award for it.

After the show it was dinnertime and it was the Captains Gala Menu!

IMG_3703.jpg

IMG_3704.jpg

IMG_3705.jpg

For appetizers, I ordered the Wild Forest Mushroom Soup, served with White Truffle Oil.

IMG_3706.jpg

I was kind of hoping it was going to taste like the Portobello Mushroom soup from Artist Point over at the Wilderness Lodge, but it was nothing like it. It was okay, nothing spectacular. Like I said earlier, a lot of the soups were really oily and you could tell by the picture that this one really was.

DH ordered two apps (of course!). The Oysters Rockefeller on the Half Shell – stuffed with Spinach, Onions, and Butter

IMG_3707.jpg

It was good, but he was expecting fresh oysters.

He also ordered the Garlic and Herb-Sauteed Shrimp – on Spaghetti Vegetables drizzed with garlic butter

IMG_3708.jpg

Pretty tasty!

For my entrée, I ordered the Baked Lobster Tail – served in the shell with Lemon Butter, young Green Beans, and Oven-baked Rice

IMG_3709.jpg

It was a little dry, but fresh squeezed lemon helped it out!

Dh, again, ordered two entrees!

Blue Cheese and Asparagus Risotto – served with Celery and Roasted Walnuts

IMG_3710.jpg

YUMMY! This was so stinking good! I was eating a lot of the dish while he was working on his other one.

Sesame Seared Tuna Loin – on Lemon Grass infused Bok Choy, Daikon, and Carrots with Wasabi and Ginger Drizzle

IMG_3711.jpg

This was very good too! Wish I could have switched dishes with him!

I was really ready for some dessert to come save this meal, so it wasn’t the best.

IMG_3712.jpg

IMG_3713.jpg

DH ordered the Apple Pie A La Mode – served warm with Vanilla Ice Cream

IMG_3714.jpg

SO GOOD! And No sugar added?! Sign me up!

I ordered the Warm Chocolate Lava Cake – Baked Chocolate delicacy served warm with double Chocolate sauce

IMG_3715.jpg

DELICIOUS! I ate every single bite of this. I really wish it was bigger. Fantastic!

After dinner, we headed out to take more pictures in the lobby area and for some reason, I have only this picture

IMG_3717.jpg

We headed over to Wavebands, where I decided that we would sit on the opposite side from where we’ve been sitting so I could take a picture of the band :)

IMG_3718.jpg

IMG_3719.jpg

Tonight’s entertainment was Bucket and Boards. A really funny couple of guys that would bang on ‘Buckets and Boards”. Their facial expressions were fantastic! Really fun!

We left as soon as the show was over because we didn’t want to stick around and dance.

Back in our stateroom we saw this

IMG_3720.jpg

Here’s the Gratuity page

Gratuities.jpg

As we were settling down, I realized we didn’t have any water and we both need water when we go to bed. So I volunteered to get the water this time. As I was leaving my room, I saw a woman come down the hall with a large plate of desserts! I had to ask where she got them. It was the dessert buffet at Tritons and she said they were still open and very busy.

I, of course, made my way to Tritons rather than going upstairs for water. It was really busy, but the lines went quickly. SO MUCH STUFF! I didn’t bring my camera, because I didn’t think I would need it for water, but the buffet was impressive. Here’s a picture of my plate. I only have a small sample of what is served in there!

IMG_3721.jpg

I forgot about the water :upsidedow and Dh went upstairs to get the water while I snacked on my dessert. Poor guy! :lmao: After dessert, I got ready for bed and fell asleep rather instantly.

Tomorrow was going to be our last full day on the ship. :sad1: But we still had lots of fun things planned!

YUM! I am so happy to see that halibut dish, you don't even know! My husband and I love halibut (and it is SO expensive!) so I hope they still have this when we go! We just paid $35 for a lunch portion of halibut yesterday and it was awful! So sad.

I was looking at your chocolate lava cake and getting excited, when I realized that I have booked us palo for this night. Darn! Do you know if this was formal or semi formal night?

I would definitely follow your baby blog if you started one!

Jenni

That's such a cute idea! Ugh, i'm trying to take care of myself and just feel like i'm falling behind on things again like housework, not reading everyone's TR's (including yours:sad2:), etc.

I'll be buying some saltines this week so I can keep them by my bed in the mornings. I'll also look for ginger candy. Where can I find those?

That's OK, just keep up on your sleep and take care of yourself. We're not doing too much exciting, just a lot of food porn! :lmao: However next week we go to DL for some park commando visits.

You can find the Candied Ginger in the aisle with the chocolate chips and other baking supplies. Fran needed it a couple years ago when she was hospitalized with severe pneumonia. Once she got out she had trouble keeping anything down, I think from the weeks on the feeding tube. We found it there, either that or the Asian section of the grocery store.

If they don't have it in Tulare/Visalia, let me know and I can send you some. I have some socks for you! Long story, but we bought 0-6 socks and don't need them so they're yours, if you like....

Wonderful update yet again :goodvibes

I love the look of the Captain's Gala Menu; I hope we get to try it in May :thumbsup2

Great photo of you as well, you always looks so glam!

Loving the report updates! Thanks for the advice on the purse, too. We used blurb to make our blog into a book. Fairly easy, and we were really pleased with the quality. :thumbsup2

When you said, "Go up for water," where exactly were you getting it? The drink station? I've heard the tap is fine to drink, but we're a little picky. And we do drink a ton of water. I know we could bring some, but DH really doesn't want to lug it along! Tips? Advice?

YAY!! Glad you took MY advice! :lmao: I think we'd feel empty without baby updates :goodvibes I mean look at the title of your TR, you were just asking for baby followers, everyone loves babies!! ;) I love talking babies, giving advice, etc. I like helping mommies in babies issues. I've also started a blog, I don't know where its going, but I started it! :lmao:

I was looking at the captains gala menu and I couldn't for the life of me remember the menu until I saw lobster! That was our Palo night. I purposely scheduled early Palo dinner, then we finished and joined in for regular dinner :rotfl2:, I only ordered lobster (w/out any side) and dessert! :rolleyes1 Then found out they had the dessert buffet and...yea we did that too..:lmao:

Off topic, I've noticed (from a few of your pics) that you have the Disney Dooney sketch tote. :lovestruc I've been thinking about getting one, but the straps always look kind of rigid and uncomfortable to me. :confused3 Do you like your bag? They have D&B Disney purses on board and they have cute wristlets ($49 I think) perfect for a camera and burts bees :thumbsup2

I am a water snob too! I hate tap! The tap is filtered, I drank it fine. On the 9th deck there is a beverage station where you can fill up. I reccommend bringing a water bottle for each person to fill with their choice of drink.

It looks like the keyboardist caught you again! Trying to be tricky and moving to the opposite side of the room ;)

What a wonderfully relaxing day you had. I like the idea of a sit down lunch, I'm trying to plan our days to make sure we do that as well. I'm glad you didn't miss the dessert buffet, how fortuitous you needed water or you wouldn't have seen that woman.

Great update, I especially enjoyed the desserts and now I'm craving something sweet!:)

Don't you hate when that happens!? :lmao:

Jenni

The halibut was very yummy! Did not disappoint.

I believe this was for Semi-formal night. Formal night was the second or third night.

That's OK, just keep up on your sleep and take care of yourself. We're not doing too much exciting, just a lot of food porn! :lmao: However next week we go to DL for some park commando visits.

Gosh, I need to get back to reading everyone's TR's! I feel so out of the loop, it's ridiculous.

I found the ginger candy! But have not needed it at all. I even bought saltines and ginger ale, and haven't needed to open anything (well, I opened the ginger ale, just because I love it so much!) I'm very grateful that I haven't been sick yet, but am waiting for it to come on.

:lmao: I'm now curious about the long story regarding the socks! But i'll definitely take them! :goodvibes

Wonderful update yet again :goodvibes

Aw, thanks Linda! :goodvibes

Sica is right. On the 9th deck is a beverage station with cups and different drinks. I brought a large water bottle and filled it up, up there and was careful not to touch the little spigots that the water comes out of. We drink tons of water too and there really is no need to bring a case of water or anything. what we also do, is take 2 cups each of water back to our room, and keep it in our fridge so that whenever we felt like water, it was right there for us.

YAY!! Glad you took MY advice! :lmao: I think we'd feel empty without baby updates :goodvibes I mean look at the title of your TR, you were just asking for baby followers, everyone loves babies!! ;) I love talking babies, giving advice, etc. I like helping mommies in babies issues. Pam, I love your new profile pic! :cutie:

It was really relaxing to have a sit down lunch and I highly recommend it. :lmao: I agree, if I hadn't had met that women, I would have completely missed out on the dessert! I would have been kicking myself the next day when I found out about it.

Woah! It's been a while, but here I am! I know I was supposed to give the link to my blog but I still haven't officially posted to the blog. I'm hoping tomorrow I will, because tomorrow will be my 2nd weigh-in/measurements already!

As far as my TR, it will be all finished next week. I have one more full day left, and then just a tiny bit on the last day. Geez, can't believe its almost over! :sad2:

Going to dinner up in Fresno tonight for my Brother's bday at this really nice steakhouse. I've been reading I can't order steak the way I like, medium. Wonder if I can order it at least medium-well?!? Ugh, I hope so. I'm craving a nice steak, but can steak still be good as medium-well or well done?!

Hi Lesha!

Hope you (and baby bump!) are doing well.. can't believe your TR is coming to an end soon, enjoyed reading along so much :goodvibes

Enjoy your meal tonight! I take it that rare meat is on the 'not allowed' list during pregnancy? just wondered what else you can't eat - I know alchohol is not allowed.. I thought caffeine was too, but a colleague of mine is pregnant and is still drinking Coke every day? :confused3 lol
Are you having any cravings?! :cutie:

Emma princess: x

Posted on your thread not too long ago and am so excited for all your upcoming trips!!
