Since Lori probably won't want all of us crammed into that Value Room together, some of y'all may decide to head west on I-10. If needed, just know we're right off the interstate if anyone needs a potty break (of course, that's as long as DH decides to stay put!)

Well I was thinking maybe we get lucky & get an extra room or two!!!

Jenny, Glad to hear Jack came home happy! Did you tell the 1st grade teacher about your trip? Did she think he could handle missing more classes.

Alexis' teacher acted like a *!*!, when Chris brought up vacation in Oct. Chris got scared & told her it was a family reunion!

We told the kinder teacher who didnt even seem fazed.
I havent gotten round to telling the first grade teacher yet.. and she can act an @#$@#@ all she wants lol. We really had no idea this was happening and its flat out stated in the book they can miss 17 days of school without an issue.. so this will be 7 of them LOL. Ill just bring her a goodie home if she seems put out to help "smooth" things over LOL!

My DH just called me from Columbus and is telling me to fill our "hurricane box".

Ughhh. I am not ready for this either. But I told him the same thing-I'm heading to Florida! Well, maybe.... he has a job the opposite direction! I will probably be fired if this happens and I don't stay, even being PRN, hospitals are sticklers. And I already am feeling like I am being weeded out.

Heck, as crazy as things got on I-10 last time, the offer may be extended to the guest room, the floors, the garage......you just never know! I'm just hoping it's a standing offer that NEVER has to be utilized, KWIM?

Just got back from the playground and checked the computer models for Gustav- ! I'm trying not to freak out since all computer models of big hurricanes always seem to show them heading here at one point or another- the paths always change course. It is just too far out to tell yet.

If we have to evacuate, we're obviously heading to Disney since we're supposed to be going there just a few days after. I'm trying to check on room availability, but the Disney website is down- grrrrr . Party in my value room y'all!

I agree Sheryl, I'd rather be at Disney than a dingy hotel with a bunch of depressed New Orleanians. Been there, done that!

Okay, for anyone interested , Disney has rooms available at ASMo, ASMu, and POR available 9/3-9/7. I didn't check after that since we are checking into CBR on 9/7. Hopefully it won't come to this, but I don't want to get stuck without a place to stay like we did during Katrina. If things keep looking the way they do, I'll be booking soon!

I'm trying to be rational and calm about this, but I started crying in the kitchen while fixing lunch. PTSD rearing its ugly head I guess. I just started looking around at all of the hard work and everything we've been through since K, and I'm not ready to go through it again. Ugh!!!

Did he include the park tickets? I didn't and the rate was $94 a night at AS, and $149 a night at POR. You have to go in and manually take the tickets out (if you're doing this online).

I don't know what he did! He's gone to lunch & I can't get him right now. But Thanks! I'm going to check myself & let him know! Maybe the man thinks I'm joking about not staying in another dump & going to WDW for evacuation. If so, he's going to be surprised!

Sheryl, I just checked again and something must've been screwed up earlier because now all I'm getting available for AS is 9/3-9/5. All of the moderates are available 9/3-9/7 though. It would be $671 at POR for 9/3-9/7 (wed-sat), not including tickets.

That's wacky! There must be lots of bookings/cancellations going on for it to change every few minutes. Well, I'll keeping looking throughout the day and consult with DH when he gets home. I know he'll think I'm nuts for worrying about this so far out, but he is super rational and not a worry-wart like me!

Want to know how crazy I am? I just changed my hair appt from next Thursday to Monday in case we have to leave for the hurricane. Natural disaster or not, I still need to get my hair done!
