Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - Part II

I hear y'all on Sam's! You'd think I had to drive to BumfreakinEgypt to go there! I literally over fill the freezer everytime!

Only problem is I'm even worse at Whole Food's because of all things I have to cross the river to get there!

Westbankers, I heard that Walmart opened a new "Fresh Market" on Manhattan near Stonebridge were the old A&P used to be. I wonder if they might carry Arugula?! Darn Becky got me started on that & now I crave that stuff & I can't find it anywhere but WF's!

:lmao:

Sheryl - Glad to hear you're OK. A day in court is enough to put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day, that's for sure.

I'd love to catch Tim McGraw at Jazzfest but that's not likely to happen.:sad2:

I'll bet you would like to CATCH Tim McGraw!!! ;) ;)

Rick says he'll bring you another one if you want- you don't have to make up a story!:rotfl: Or blame Alexis.;)

Those will be back again this year. So will some form of light up thingie-maybe glasses maybe not. Don't know yet.

Glad you made it back from being with the badddddd people.

I'm NOT making up stories! I had it hanging on a hook in my closet that was up high. She comes into the living room with her face down looking all sad & said "Nana, I have something bad to tell you. I broke your beautiful WINE necklace." Bad Nana that I am, I got pretty upset about it & fussed her for trying to wear MY necklace! :guilty:

Well, this time we'll make sure Alexis has her own necklace to wear!:cutie: And get yours replaced too. Looks like I'll be home the first week in May- I think I'll be working on some then. I need to get more grapes though.

Hey y'all,

Sure is quiet here on our Nola thread.

Well the fair wasn't nearly as fun as we hoped. Alexis class got up on the stage & it started raining heavy. All the goofy parents & grandparents stood in the rain watching them sing. We stood under tarps after & as soon it slacked off we'd hurry to a food booth & back under the tarp. We finally just gave up & came home. Feel bad the school is not going to make much money if this keeps up all weekend.

Jazz Fest must be a mess.
Yep, and I wouldn't let go.;)

How did I know that!;)

Let me know if you need any corks, I have plenty!

I was thinking about y'all a little while ago with this nasty weather. Kyle was at the fair last night and he's planning on going back tonight. He said it was packed last night. Hopefully the weather will be better later today and tomorrow.

Lori - Could I buy a necklace from you if I help contribute corks? I won't be there with y'all but when I am there I'd love to have a little piece of my buddies around my neck.:goodvibes

How about when I more made I'll send ya one? No need to buy it!;)

I've been doing surveys on Sunshine Rewards today to build up my Disney fund. I've made $6 in the last few days.:woohoo: Figure I'll keep earning and clicking till October or when they have a Disney cash out special. Hopefully I'll have $100 for F&WF. If anyone else wants to join let me know.

My street is flooding......

It's not storming over here but it's been a pretty heavy steady rain. We had planned on hanging out to hear the Topcats, but after getting wet, I'd had enough. They had a priest singing (Fr. Bruno) while we were there & the lightening started and they had to stop. I sure hope it let's up soon.

I'm back and for the love of God WHY, when I walk into that store do I act like I'll never be allowed in again.

When I lived in California we had Costco not Sam's. For several years I had to drive about 20 miles to go to one - so I went on those "binges" also. Everytime I went in I bought packages of toilet paper - my garage was full.:rotfl:

But I finally got "cured". They built a Costco directly across the street from my office. I could walk over in the afternoon and get a sundae.

Morning ladies.....

Well yesterday was an adventure trying to drive around on the Westtbank. It was flooding all over. We were not aware of this until we were driving along Holmes Blvd and was caught in 2 or 3 ft of water and I was in my SUV. Cars were stranded all over the place. So we went all around from Wright to Belle Chase Highway then Behrman to get home. It was a mess! :scared1:

I hope none of you got caught in the mess.

Today I plan on staying home and continuing to clean my closests. So far I have packed 6 bags of clothes just for me! :thumbsup2 I went to Walmart and Target and purchased several hangers which can hold 5 slacks and 5 skiirts. I need to make some serious space.

Thanks, you're a sweetie!:goodvibes

Afternoon Y'all,

Terry sorry to hear you were caught in that mess yesterday!

We got a call from the church this morning letting us know that the Fair was being cancelled because more heavy rain was expected today. Now here it is 1:30 & there hasn't been a drop of rain?? The message said they will try to reschedule next week. I'm sure they have lost the bands & I don't know what they are doing with all the food. Sad, I'm sure it's going to be a big loss this year.:sad1:

I felt so bad for the people across the street from me. They have a small car that was parked on the street and they weren't home. I watched the water rise and just knew that little car was not going to make it. Sure enough the tow truck was out this morning picking it up.

That's a shame. Hopefully they can re-schedule for next weekend.

I've been in bed all day, a stomach bug hit me real hard this morning.

Hey guys!

Gregg in Kenner here. Just checking in.

I'll backtrack and read this thread now. lol :lmao:

Hi guys - well I did not do as much cleaning done as I wanted to. Instead, I took DD to the Hallmark store to celebrate the Webkinz celebration weekend. We were there for 4 hours...she raked up with stuff. We came home with 6 webkinz, several trading cards and other WB stuff.

Kathy - I hope you are feeling better.

Gregg - Hi there!

Shovan - I am sorry about the fair.

Terry, I heard about the webkinz weekend thing, but my kids and thier daddy had different plans. LSU had AGMagic this weekend and DH brought them to it on Saturday. They had a blast and learned a LOT. he brought them to the vet school kid day a few months back and they loved that too. Anything FREE and educational at LSU will get my DH there with the kids-especially to take a peek at Tiger Stadium and Mike the Tiger-to see how big he is getting. We are looking into buying seats to some games from a good friend with season tickets.

Lori, I joined Sunshine rewards but am confused on how to get points. It always seems to guide me through too many pages of ads trhat i do not want. It confuses me. Another Dis'er intro'ed me to it to save $$ for our cruise and WDW!! What am I doing wrong? Or is it supposed ot be like that and I am impatient.:)

The hospital over here is sadly really busy this past week!

Lori

Terry we went to our local Hallmark store and just happened to stumble into the Webkinz craze. We left out of there with four new friends.

Hi Gregg and
1.gif
.

The Communion on Saturday went great. The church was packed but thankfully we got a seat since Colin had to be there an hour early. Our parish is so big that we had three different Communion masses. The BBQ was also a big hit. It didn't start raining until Mark had finished grilling so that worked out well. Colin racked up in the money department but his favorite gift was a medal my mom gave him of a baseball player on the front and a St. Christopher on the back. Kathy I thought of Kyle when I saw it. Funny how our DIS friends pop in our heads at certain times. Colin is very proud of the medal and said now St. Christopher will now protect him during all his games.

Kids making their Communion are so angelic looking. I'm not saying that they all behave like angels, I speak from experience with my own kids,LOL, but seeing them walk up to the priest-cher bebe.

Hey guys!

Stick around and post!!!!!

Kathy - I hope you are feeling better.

Thanks Terry, I am.

What a special gift from your Mom, that's something he will cherish for a long time.:goodvibes
