Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

Happy Saturday ladies....Looks like today will be beautiful.

Wicked was AWESOME.... Yes it stacked up to New York's play. :thumbsup2 Aly and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I had forgotten how funny Galinda and Melphaba were. It's definately a MUST see!!!

Cara - I don't know how you do it with 3 either. I hope this break helps everyone calm down. :) praying that your job is secure.

Sheryl I hope you guys feel better soon.

I sure wish I was off this week like most of the city. Aly only has Thursday through Monday off.

Jenny I hope you're enjoying the Easter event you're at this morning with your son. Boy I sure miss those days. :(

SO glad the show was great ! I totally forgot about it and meant to get tickets. Have no idea how long it runs, I am going to check site in a little while.

Our party is at 1, Im just finishing up the food and picking up the house a bit.

I figure we have one more year of this and then we will be done. :sad1::sad1: I started crying when I bought the Bunny pinata to fill the other day cuz I know the end of the kiddie parties are coming soon. LMAO.. my hormones are on fire these days I guess, I thought Chad was going to die laughing at me.

Lorie, I bet you will like the preschool , Jack went to a small Baptist one, LOTS of playtime, just a little sit down busy work, color sheets , not much of anything, but enough to learn how to start lining up and sitting still etc to get ready for Kinder.

Sheryl.. hope you and Bob feel better soon!!

Ernie is IN the garage! We have a garage snake. Paul doesn't like the idea but as long as he doesn't come in I am good!

I am sorry for my FB post last night. I was hard on Paul , but he was grumpy. I asked him to go with us and he was hesitant but he has literally been working from 8am-10pm, mostly from home trying to play catch up from all the weeks of moving (2x) and closing on the house was stressful. He has encouraged me to go to whatever moms night was offered at Disney and I just thought he needed to have some Mickey magic for a change. HOW can you be remotely grumpy on the Poly beach watching Wishes???:confused3 Well, at least he didn't SAY anything, I could just tell.
Everything is cool now, we talked this morning- he just feels he has a lot on his shoulders b/t work and the yard.

It is getting more and more beautiful every week. I do admit that our front yard is nothing but a weedfest going on out there! It looks terrible- but the backyard I see everyday is so beautiful!

Lori

Hey y'all,'

Sorry I haven't been keeping up, both Bob & I have been sick all week.

Julie, I'm very happy for you & your girl! It must feel wonderful to know that the school was the right choice. :goodvibes:hug:

I hope y'all have a good weekend girls. DH has the dreaded man cold now!:scared1:

 Hope you feel better quickly!

Thanks, we do feel, especially after talking to Rie, that we made the right decision.

Wicked was AWESOME.... Yes it stacked up to New York's play. :thumbsup2 Aly and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I had forgotten how funny Galinda and Melphaba were. It's definately a MUST see!!!

Glad you enjoyed the play!!!

Good morning:goodvibes Boy, it sure is pretty outside!!!

We are going to see Wicked today at 2pm:yay: I am very excited. We saw it in Los Angeles a few years back and loved it. Can't wait to see it again!

Today will be David's first time voting in an election. Today we have elections in Kenner. I can't believe my child is old enough to vote.

Ya'll have a great day!!

What a big day for David!!! :dance3:

Almost forgot, I'll be starting us up a new thread sometime this weekend!!!

I'll stock the bar and bring a few yummies.

Hey y'all!

I'm feeling much better about the test. It was the first time my child was really scrutinized by someone else- that was hard! I better get used to it though for when she starts school. Speaking of school, I'm touring a small preschool on Monday. It is MWF 9-2:30 and sounds like there is some structure, but lots of playtime. It is in a Presbyterian Church in Metairie, so not too far from home. I hope it works out. I have a couple of friends whose kids went there and liked it. It does mean the start of tuition though, so I better start budgeting for that. :sad1:

Julie- I hope you can work out a vacation with Rie! So far, it does seem like early May will be fairly slow- I've been able to change my ADRs around with little problem (except for Ohana- always booked up!) and add a resort day. I even added a Le Cellier lunch a couple of weeks ago, which I thought would be impossible!

:hug:I'm happy that you're feeling better. No one knows our children as we do, so it is very hard when we're subjected to an outsider's opinion. The school that you're going to see sounds great! I love that there is lots of playtime because I think it's so sad that schools start pushing kids at such a young age. What good has it done? If you took the ACT like I did in the 70's, educational officials say to add 8-10 pts to the score which means for all of the pushing, the kids are not any smarter, except maybe for computers.

Thanks for writing about your ADR experiences!!! It is giving me hope for our trip. You added a day! Yippee, more fun!:dance3:

I just booked trips for Disney World:
April 23-April 29th( original trip, still booked)
May 3- May 8th
May 10-15th
May 17-22
I also booked dining reservations and was able to get everything we wanted.
WDW allows you to cancel 5 days before the trip and we'll have more notice than that, so I'll cancel both the resort and dining reservations as soon as we know the date that Rie finishes. This trip is so important to us. Normally, I wouldn't book this way but I really want to make it special. Rie loves the BWI and certain restaurants and I'm happy that I was able to get everything. WDW will credit the deposits to my cc when I cancel.
I'm waiting to book the Royal Pacific because there are rooms in every category still available. It seems that a lot of people are waiting for the Harry Potter area to open and are booking those dates. I'll bring Rie back in the Fall so she can go to see the new HP section.
