Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

Hey gang! Sorry to have been away. Count me in as one who's glad Feb is over. The whole house got sick right after MG, DH was out of town on a couple of trips, and I've just been in a general funk with this nasty weather. But enough of that. My daffodils are finally starting to bloom, so things have got to start improving!

Belated birthday wishes to the couple of you that I missed!

Kathy - Don't fret about the wires of the holter monitor, unless you're worried about them getting in the way. I bet everyone here knows at least one person who has had to wear one of these @ one time or another, and we know they're important. I'm hoping you get a diagnosis that puts your mind at ease, but is inconsequential. Does that make sense?

Lori - Sounds like the transition is going great (despite the :headache: from FHA.) Fingers crossed that the rain holds off until the big stuff can get into the house. I so wish I could be down there to help thin out the jungle. It's the kind of yard work I actually like doing because the results are usually only positive!

Got to run. I'll try to BBL.

Hey y'all,

Quick check in so y'all don't worry!

Mary, I'm glad you're FIL is doing well!

Kat, Glad the visit had some good news!

Going to the neuro dr in a bit. Find out what my MRI on my low back showed. Also need to ask him about my knee & who I should see for that.

Gotta run! :grouphug:

Just a quick check-in.

Happy Belated Birthday to Julie... hope it was a good one.

Not to much happening around here, which is a good thing. I am looking forward to Spring and warmer temperatures. It has been cold far to long, and I LOVE cold weather.

Kat, good news from the doctor. I am relieved for you.

After speaking with a friend who has experience with palpitations and the many causes I've decided even if my EKG and monitor results are good I'm going to ask to be referred to a cardiologist. I'm having on average 20 palpitations daily, something is causing this.:sad1:

cajunmommy- good to see ya!:) You are welcome any time to come clip back the jungle!

Watching HP and Half Blood Prince to sheer us up- it's kinda funny but we are all feeling very sad right now. I think we just need some sleep.
Taking my first bath in a month:eek::cutie:- been showering and I am not a fan of showers.
The only thing we have left to get started on the house is a BUGMAN. if I see one I am gonna flip- you klnow what kind- I can't even say it.

We are missing SO many things from this move:
1. 4 of my chairs to the dining room table(kitchen table for us, but it expands to seat 8)
2. the legs to the same table
3. 2 dressers(wicker ones) DD12's room
4. my lamps to my bedroom
5. cheval mirror(wicker) for DD12's room

and I am sure I am missing other smaller things too that we will figure out soon.

Right now I wish I was:
1. Samantha from Bewitched- so i could wiggle my nose and everything would be put away:snooty:
OR
2. a witch in the HP wizarding world, so that I could flick the wand and everything will be perfectly in it's place exactly where I want it:wizard:

Just want "comfort" to find me now.

NEVER doing this again unless it is to go home and then NEVER again. So we better like it here!

This week we may go get our drivers licenses and then by April have our seasonal passespirate:princess:

Aww, Lori, I hope that you can find the "home" in your home soon. That really stinks about your missing things. And, just gonna let you in on a little secret... bugman or not, you are still gonna be getting acquainted with your palmetto bug friends. They fly in, they crawl in, and the bugman can spray all he wants, he can't kill them all. As long as they are the big ones (and scarier ones) it is no problem, if you start seeing babies... then worry. Just keep a can of Raid or a shoe handy. I still scream when I see them and I grew up with them (despite the best efforts of our bugman)

Just getting home from Children's Hospital. Spencer fell head first out of the top of the bunk bed onto the hard floor. Thankfully, he has a hard head and he is okay. Me and Sean, not so much. It was quite a scare for us. $100 lighter which really stinks, but extremely grateful I am not crying tonight over a little boy.

Go see a Cardiologist!

 Hope my co-workers at Children's took good care of your son.

Lori - I'm so sorry things are missing from the move, isn't the moving company liable for that?

Cara - What a scare that must have been, glad he's OK.

Oh, how things change in a few hours! Glad it was just a scary bump & nothing more!

No bath in a month?! Well, no wonder you're cranky! I'm not a bath person myself, but I know how being off a routine makes me upset. I'd be locking myself in 1st chance I got, and the hot water heater had better be full!

OK - so how did the stuff go missing? It was all loaded on the same truck and put into storage, right? Did they leave some of it behind in storage? I'd be really peeved.

Kathy - Good idea about the cardiologist. Get scheduled, be honest, & ask lots of questions.

Hey y'all,

Kathy, I'm surprised that your primary doc is doing the monitoring. I thought you would have been referred to a cardio. for that. I agree a trip to the cardiologist for a full workup is a good idea.

Cara, So glad that Spencer is all right!!! Whew, that must have been a real scare!

Lori, I am so sorry! Of all things to be missing, that pretty wicker furniture & the KITCHEN TABLE! ARRRRGGGH! That stinks! Sending love, my friend!

I saw my dr yesterday. All of my discs in my low back look okay, but do have pretty bad arthritis in the whole spine. So no cure but at least no surgery either. He ordered therapy, the only problem is I don't think I'll be able to do that, until I get my knee problem figured out. He is sending my to an ortho. for that. Ugh.

Hey y'all!

Well it looks like the sun finally came out today! Now all we need is for it to get warmer!!:thumbsup2

Mary- I'm glad your FIL is doing better!

Kathy- I hope you get some some answers soon. A cardiologist is definitely a good idea, at least to put your mind at ease!

Lori- Any chance of them finding your stuff? That seems like a a lot to just disappear- I would be ticked! But I'm glad you'll get your own bed and a bath once again!

Cara- So glad Spencer is okay! Sienna took a head first spill out of her bed yesterday, but it isn't nearly as high as a bunk bed- how scary for you! She has a hard head too ;), so no big harm done.

Okay, so here's a Sienna haha to lighten the mood....I was doing laundry earlier and had hung up one of my bras to dry. Sienna picked it up and said "good Lord, what is THIS?!" with a totally incredulous yet slightly disgusted look on her face. :rotfl: I hear the unedited verbiage only gets better at the age of four....:lmao:

Kathy, you wouldn't believe the stuff coming out of this child's mouth lately. The other day we went walking with a friend of mine and they were chatting together. Sienna told my friend "well, you know daddy, he's CRAZY!"... my friend asked if mommy was crazy too, and she replied "yeah, she's crazy...and GRUMPY too!". Todd couldn't stop laughing...:rotfl:

I just love the stuff kids come up with! Sienna is at such a cute age.:cloud9:

Lorie, I love it! Sienna is so funny. I really love that age.

Poppinsme, it was the first time that we were actually seen at Children's hospital. The only other time I took one of mine, we waited four hours and left as he wasn't getting any worse and the doctor's office was about to open. $15 beats $100 in the co-payment department. I know something bad had happened that night, as some parents were arrested in the waiting room for whatever they did to a little baby. This time we were in and out pretty fast and the doctor was very patient with Spencer.

Evidently, what happened was Spencer was dragging his sleeping bag to the top bunk (his) and Fletcher thought it would be fun to play a game of tug of war. One good yank and Spencer who was on his knees, leaning over the side, was on the ground. Spencer keeps telling Fletcher "Thanks a lot for the headache." Fletcher feels pretty bad about it though.

Getting through work today though was tough. I am so tired.

Hi gang....

Sorry for being incognito; I've been super busy lately. :rolleyes1

I drove to and from Jackson again today...just one more trip next week and I'm DONE!!! :dance3::dance3:

Lorie - Sienna is a HOOT. :lmao:

Cara - glad all is well with your sweetheart.

Bethany are you packed??? ;)

Mary - I'm glad all turned out well with your family.

Kathy - how's the monitoring going?

Sheryl  girl...at least you know what's causing your pain.

Lori -I know you must be in bliss now that you can indulge in your tub. :) Did the exterminator make it there yet? Who packed your stuff? Did you guys watch as the movers took your stuff? Did you have to sign off as it was taken out the house? This is what my company requires. Have you contacted your hubbie's HR person for assistance?
Happy Belated birthday Julie.

Cara- I am sorry that happened- but glad Children's took care of him.:goodvibes

Okay Cara:eek:- can you have not told me this before we moved here, by the woods, with a pool??? I am not just scared of them. I will LEAVE my house if one is in there. Then I make Paul go hunt it down (after telling it's last known coordinates) and PROVE to me it's is dead- then he'll fluch it or throw it away. I do not go near enough to them to spray or step on them. I think Paul is right- it's a phobia. If they are outside, fine, but if it in my house- I am gonna flip and call Paul and leave. he will tell you how many times I called him home from work to kill one over the past 20 years.

I had a bugman at home(he was one of my BEST friends:rolleyes1) and maybe 2 outside roaches in 10 years have ever been inside the house. In the garage, yes, every so often there would be a dead one. But dead is the way I can handle them. I still don't pick them up or go near it though.

I have been seriously checking all around me since we saw that 1 roach last week- gives me the willies!

Give me a garage snake any day!:thumbsup2

Cara - What a scare that must have been, glad he's OK.

yes the moving comapny- United- insures it for replacement value. Just don't know how long we'll not have a table)not even the coffee table(legs are missing)

Oh, how things change in a few hours! Glad it was just a scary bump & nothing more!

Yes, it was loaded and then stored. Inknow the driver had a stop in Georgia, so they are trying to track it down

Thankfully- we have been eating out for dinner. I HATE eating on the sofa or anywhere except the kitchen/dinette/dining room. why??? roaches
They do not need a reason to come in. I have always been like this.

We think a whole palette is missing. It's too much to just be random. Our DVD's are also missing- and we had a LOT.

Sienna IS hilarious!!! I LOVE that age.

Yes, Paul has been on the phone with her many times in the past couple days= letting her know other things we are missing. We opened all boxes to see what we had and then tried to figure out if any small things were missing.....who knows?! I do not know everything we owned.

Cara- the roaches are worse than Louisiana??? Cmon, I need some light!

:guilty:

Lori

Terry - I only had the monitor for 24 hours, thankfully.

Lori - I sure hope they can find your missing things, what a pain!
