Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

Mary, I hope you feel better soon.

Kathy - good grief!!! I'm so glad is was just medication.

Sheryl - :cool1: Glad to hear Alexis is coming home. I hope things settle down now and you are able to enjoy your trip.

Kristina - I hope you feel better.

Thanks for all the concern my dear friends, he's feeling OK. It was a big scare but all seems well now. I did my online check-in a bit earlier for our trip!:yay:

Glad Johnny is feeling ok!!!

Online check-in!!!!!!!:dance3::dance3:

We have 41 days, 16 hours and 18 minutes until the day we leave!

Good morning. I'm feeling better today.Still congested though. The doctor put me on a weekly B12 shot routine, so I will go in for that in a little while. Hopefully, I will feel even better after that.

Cara, that had to be terrifying. Choking can happen so fast. Thank God he is okay.

Kat, thank God Johnny is okay too!

Lorie, what a sweetheart you have. And no, I don't think you're a shrew.

Jamie, :hug:for you to get through this.

Lauri, for your daughter to get through this.

Sheryl, I hope Alexis continues to improve and she doesn't have to go through anymore.

Lori, how's Haley this morning? I had to laugh at your comment about being mad at you means things are back to normal. My mom used to tell me that and now I tell my own kids the same thing:rotfl:

Kristina, you and your family are in my prayers. You are a very strong woman and God will get you through this:hug:

Hey y'all!

I'm listening to theme park music online right now- they are playing the old Mission to Mars soundtrack right now- :goodvibes

Sheryl- I'm so happy to hear Alexis got to go home!

Kathy- Glad Johnny is ok and it was just a meds issue!

Krtistina- to you

Mary- Glad to hear you are doing better and hope you will continue to improve!

I forgot to mention that the pediatrician said Erik is not cutting a new tooth- it is a calcium deposit or something like that? It has the same symptoms of teething (fussiness, drooling, etc.) So we get to go through this as well as regular teething- ugh! :headache:

Hey y'all,

Alexis is here with me today. She is doing well & if she continues to do so, she may be able to return to school on Monday! Right now she's trying be quiet, so I won't mention starting the school work.:rolleyes1

Kathy, I'm glad Johnny was able to get to the dr right away. My Mom's shot up like that high last year & she had to be admitted. It was also due to a drug change. Glad he is okay. How's your ankle?

Mary, I'm glad you're feeling a little better!

Lorie, I've never heard of that. A calcium deposit in his gums? Poor baby & poor Mama!

I'm not feeling great, my neck is hurting & legs are numb. I don't know why. I'm so far behind on laundry & starting to pack for next week. But I get it done, it's F&W Fest time!

Morning all!

Sheryl - How's Alexis feeling today? Probably just happy to be home again!

Kathy - Hope Johnny feels better today as well. How's your ankle? Better I hope!

Mary - glad you're feeling better. I hope the B-12 shots work for you.

Lori, how's Haley this morning? I had to laugh at your comment about being mad at you means things are back to normal. My mom used to tell me that and now I tell my own kids the same thing:rotfl:

I laughed at this as well. It reminded me of my Mom, who had a lot of health issues, and was in and out of the hospital in her last few years. Even DH recognized when she was feeling better because of the grief she started giving the hospital staff!

Lori - glad Haley is better!

I forgot to mention that the pediatrician said Erik is not cutting a new tooth- it is a calcium deposit or something like that? It has the same symptoms of teething (fussiness, drooling, etc.) So we get to go through this as well as regular teething- ugh! :headache:

Aw, poor kid!! Teething is bad enough without have to go thru that!!

So, my car's in the shop today because the check engine light came on. It's the second time this year that's happened. Last time it was minor and inexpensive so I'm hoping for the same this time. And my big complaint for the day is the Causeway ramp construction:headache:. I know its gonna make life better, but geez, its gonna be a long, frustrating road!

Sheryl and Kathy, your trips are so close:cool1::goodvibes:cloud9:

Sheryl and Kathy, your trips are so close:cool1::goodvibes:cloud9:

I know, I'm getting excited! Unfortunately my ankle is not cooperating with me. I'm calling my doc tomorrow and making an appointment for a cortisone shot.

Kyle got a summons for jury duty here in Jeff Parish today. I'm assuming I just have to say that he no longer lives in Jeff parish and provide his BR address?:confused3

Lorie - Poor Erik and poor Mom.

Sheryl - Fingers crossed that Alexis continues to improve.:goodvibes:

Mary - Glad to hear you're feeling better.:thumbsup2

Kristina - Hoping you are too.

Sorry if I missed anyone or anything.

I'm listening to theme park music online right now- they are playing the old Mission to Mars soundtrack right now- :goodvibes

Where do you listen to your music online? I listen to Live365...usually Sorcerer Radio.

Sorry to hear about Erik's teeth.

Kyle got a summons for jury duty here in Jeff Parish today. I'm assuming I just have to say that he no longer lives in Jeff parish and provide his BR address?:confused3

I think if he is still a dependent of yours, he is still technically a Jeff Parish resident. However, they usually excuse people for being in college out of the area. I know when I was in college in Colorado, I lived there for 5 years but was still considered a Washington resident because I was a dependent of my parents still. I got jury duty summons but it was excused.

:wave2: gang!

I wish I had a vacation coming up like you guys.

Aly is trying out for Cheerleading :cheer2: at Ursuline. Today was practice and tomorrow is tryouts....She really wants to be a Cheerleader so if you don't mind please say a special prayer for her. A bit of pixiedust: won't hurt either.

Sheryl I'm glad Alexis is home and hoping she can return to school Monday. Its probably nerves and stress that has you hurting....

Kathy I know you must be aggravated.

Mary I hope you feel better soon.

Lori I have never heard of that as well. What in the world. to you both.

Jamie, to you as well.

Sheryl - that is great news about Alexis! :yay: Do they really have school on Monday? We have it off for Columbus Day. :woohoo:

Poor sugars! Hopefully, the calcium deposit will go away.

Jamie - I am in the same place with my DH also... just can't afford for him to move out. the money isn't coming in and he thinks he is going to write a book or do some pie in the sky thing. great to have dreams but fairy dust ain't paying my bills :confused3 feels like a roommate without benefits....it is hard but I am glad to have you gals and other friends to lean on. hugs and hope it turns around for you guys.

woke up hurting again today - i think it is stress in my neck and sinuses. have to go pick up the meds since i was too tired to get them last night.

we are thinking about going to some Red Bluff place in Folsom on 10/24 some friends and i - forgot if it is a pumpkin patch or has activities for Halloween....maybe I can see some of you Northshore gals that day :yay:

:hug:I'm sorry things are not working out better for you. Have the meds started working?

Oh honey, we have been through the cheerleader tryout thing. Aye Aye Aye
I'm praying for Aly and I'm praying for you too.

Rie says she may not want to try out for her high school squad next year. My nerves will thank her!:rotfl:

Hey y'all,

Alexis is here with me today. She is doing well & if she continues to do so, she may be able to return to school on Monday! Right now she's trying be quiet, so I won't mention starting the school work.:rolleyes1

How wonderful that Alexis might be able to go back to school so quickly!!! My prayers will continue.

I hope the shot works for you!

Just call the phone number on the summons. They can tell you what you need to do. If there's no number, call the courthouse. It's been my experience that the women who work there know at least as much as the lawyers and more than the judges sometimes:)

Forgot to post that Rie starts Fall Break tomorrow!!!! They go back to school on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to catching up on sleep!

Oh and I didn't want to post this but my dermatologist thought that I might have skin cancer but I don't!!! She lasered about 40 spots on my face. I thought they were freckles but she said they were precancerous. My face looks like it was peppered with buckshot:rotfl:. Wonder if it will take out a few wrinkles?:) That would be welcome lagniappe.

I can sympathize- my car had to go to the shop AGAIN yesterday, but it was something minor (only $55, but still an inconvenience!). I hope yours is something minor too. And I totally agree about the Causeway construction! My heart just sunk when I read about it on WWL this morning- and for four months too! :headache:

Where do you listen to your music online? I listen to Live365...usually Sorcerer Radio.
I was listening to subsonic radio. They have a star tunnel channel that plays all star tunnel music, all the time-awesome! :rotfl: I like sorceror radio too.

Aly is trying out for Cheerleading :cheer2: at Ursuline. Today was practice and tomorrow is tryouts....She really wants to be a Cheerleader so if you don't mind please say a special prayer for her. A bit of pixiedust: won't hurt either.
Good luck to Aly!! :wizard::cheer2:

I never heard of the calcium deposit thing either, but of course my MIL knew exactly what she was talking about. No surprise there because I swear my MIL knows everything! That's why she's such a good conversationalist- she knows a little something about every subject. She amazes me! However, there is no such thing as a quick visit or chat since she's quite the talker, lol... Anyway, it is common for the tooth to follow immediately after the calcium deposit dissipates, so hopefully this and new tooth will be over soon because the little guy is just miserable!

Good Luck to Aly pixiedust:

Sheryl - good news about Alexis. Hope she continues to get better!

Kathy - I agree with Julie - the women who work in the courthouse will know way more than judges and lawyers!! I think there is an exemption for college students; he'll probably have to show some type of proof, or "get a note" from school.
I hope the shot gives you the relief you need.

Julie - goodness - 40 spots? So glad they aren't cancer.

I'm afraid my luck ran out on the car. I've had it in the shop a few times this year and they were all relatively inexpensive. This trip will cost me $850. The parts will be in next week and they will repair it then. Oh well, so much for my savings being built back up!:sad2:

TGIF!

Thank you for all of the prayers and pixie dust. She was very excited this morning.

I am fall decorating today...I just love the FALL!

Hope everyone has a good day.

OMG! You must have been worried! Thank God it was caught in time.

Thanks, me too!!! My dad, grandmother, and great grandfather all had skin cancer, so this really scared me. Dad is ok. My darling grandmother had the problem most of her adult life and my greatg died from it.

:sad2:on your car. UGH- I hate spending money on car repairs.

OMG! You must have been worried! Thank God it was caught in time.

Let us know about your ankle!!!

Yes, I was very worried. Not posting made it less real somehow. This makes me think more than ever that heredity plays the largest part in cancers. My dad, grandmother, and great grandfather all had/have very fair Irish complexions. Mine is fair but a tad more olive from my mom's French/Spanish ancestry yet I still had all of these problem spots. My face looks so funny today. All of the spots she hit with the laser are very dark. A kid could have fun playing connect the dots!!!

How are Alexis, Haley, and Erik this morning?

Kristina and Mary how are you feeling today?

Slept til 10 am:yay::yay:. I feel so rested.

Hey y'all,

Alexis is doing well, saw the dr this morning. He said to be aware that c-diff is hard to get rid off. Not to be surprised if it come back when we finish this round of antibiotics. At the 1st sign of diarrhea, we'll have to send in a specimen. She may need several rounds of stronger antiobiotics. He said to be vigilant with the lactobacillus. Ugh. She was able to get the nasal flu vaccine today, even though she threw a fit over that. I guess she's just had enough of doctors.

Julie, I'm glad things turned out okay at the derma.! Scary! Glad you feel rested today! I slept really late, but my sinuses have me feeling foggy instead of rested.

Lorie, I wish DH's grandmother was still around, she sounds so much like your MIL! She knew so much about so many things, funny because she only had like a 6th grade education. I hope Erik starts to feel better soon.

Kathy, on the cortisone shot! Ouch, but that should help! I hope you like your hair. I managed to get mine done on Wed. cost both of my arms & a leg. Color is pretty but it's really short! :headache:

Laurie, I hope you get your car back without it costing too much.

:grouphug:

So glad she's feeling better! Hopefully the big bad bug won't return!!! Prayi9ng for that.

My last haircut is super short. I figure though that I have another 40 days for it to grow out some.:thumbsup2
