Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 09/2009

woo hoo new thread! checking in!

I took the initiative to get some furnishings for our new virtual home:

:happytv: A television

:surfweb: A computer

:laundy: A washing machine; the dryer is back ordered :lmao:

:beach: A nice umbrella for the backyard with the pool

:cake: A cake for the housewarming party party:

:rotfl:

I have a sinus headache/migraine so I'm off to take a nap. I ran errands this morning and now I'm tired. We had grand plans to go to a museum but I am feeling more blah by the minute so we will go another day. Yeah it's free today but likely crowded. Free day at the zoo in the Bronx always made me glad there were days with an admission fee. :headache:

Some more necessities.......

Well, I was going to whine about having to use the "solar" dryer - had enough of that during Gustav & no one can use a clothes line with this rain - but I can be convinced otherwise with that stash of chocolate!

Who needs clean clothes when there's CHOCOLATE?!

OH - Tigers - better tighten up before next week. I think I woke the neighbors on Chad Jones' smackdown!

:rotfl2: Wow! Look at all that food!

We need some of these:

A little out of season, but it looks so good! Almost time, right? :rotfl:

I was looking for beignet pix but can't find them. *sigh* I trust you know what they look like. :rotfl2:

I only saw the beginning of the LSU game and I wasn't too impressed - so sloppy. The announcers kept blaming the heavy rain for it, but really?!? I'm pretty sure LSU has played in rain before....oh right. I was at a game where they played JUST FINE in rain. :confused3

I took a nap and feel a LOT better. :thumbsup2

Bethany - glad you're feeling better.

Julie - I agree the bar needs to be bigger.

Thanks. :goodvibes

As for the bar...let's just get a whole winery!

(This is Kiona in Washington State...near Benton City...Red Mountain AVA if you are interested.)

To balance out the sweets:

And this is just kinda pretty :confused3 but not food.

Wow! I see we have a new home, complete with sweets, yummy food, and a full bar, which I really need right now because I am pretty sure Erik is cutting his first tooth! :faint:

This is crazy- isn't this a bit early to be cutting teeth? He's only three months old- Sienna was 9 months old when she got her first tooth. But he's been chewing and biting everything, drooling excessively (even spitting up drool!), not eating well, and horribly cranky! And there's a little white sharp bump sticking out of his lower gum, so that's a sure sigh there!

All of the food pics are making me hungry (and thirsty- I need a drink right now! :drinking1)

Oh, and I have a question for those of you that have been to Boo at the Zoo (or just any opinion is appreciated also). So Sienna was terrified of all things Halloween last year, so we steered clear of Halloween events (including Boo at the Zoo). I thought she would be over her Halloween fear this year, but we went to Walgreens yesterday and they had their Halloween display out....and Sienna nearly jumped out of her skin, TERRIFIED, again...:sad2: It was quite a scene. Should I bother bringing her to Boo at the Zoo since she is still scared? Is it scary- does it have a lot of Halloween decor? I would hate to waste the money if she's terrified and miserable the whole time...

My kids started teething at different times. My middle child slept all night from about 2 weeks old. Then he started teething at about 10 mos old. He didn't sleep through the night again until all of his baby teeth erupted!!! Poor baby had the hardest time.

Oh I'm not looking forward to his teething at all...Sienna didn't sleep well until she finished getting all of her teeth either. She had a terrible time teething! So I wasn't excited when I saw Erik's little white bump... I just thought "oh no!!! I'm not ready for this yet!". I'm hoping he'll have an easier time than she did, but it is not looking good so far...:sad1:

Well, Spencer is 4, nearly 5 (Dec) and Bethany can attest to his fear of all things Halloween still. He had been talking big about going to some local haunted house he saw a commercial for, but he saw the Halloween decorations at Rouses last week, and Sam's today and freaked out both times. He actually left finger nail marks in my DH's chest today. If he could have run away he would have. I will be skipping Boo at the Zoo for this reason. I will be curious on whether or not the Haunted Mansion at WDW is a no go as well (though I think once I get him in the doom buggy he would like it ... darn stretching room...

That is early for teething. Poor Erik, he must be miserable, and by default you too. Logan and Fletcher were both over a year old before they got their first tooth, which means they are also very late in losing their teeth. Spencer got his first tooth in Tyler, TX.... right after Hurricane Katrina. We left Fort Worth with one cranky baby, stopped in Tyler at a McDonalds for lunch with no tooth, put him back in the car in a much better mood and a shiny new tooth.... amazing what McDonalds fries can do sometimes... He was 8 months old.

Here!!! In orange beach with my mom.

The Disney outlet is no longer here-booooooooo!!

I wanted some Halloween Disney decor at good prices not WDW prices.

Guess I'll be heading to the Gulfport outlet soon! Anyone wanna go??????

Talkto ya soon and will update my TR.

You're welcome! :goodvibes Yes, Spencer went wild in Sam's Club yesterday morning when he saw the decorations. I don't know about Haunted Mansion...do they have the child swap option? I'd hate for him to claw you to pieces while you're trapped in a doom buggy!

Yes! I've never been to Mississippi before!

I read somewhere on here that Walgreens has Disney Halloween decorations. You might want to try them.

Have a good day everybody!

Bethany - The winery photos were awesome!

Lorie - Kyle started teething very early, around the same age as Erik, and he had 8 teeth by the time he was 6 months old! Poor baby and momma.

I have a friend who's child was afraid of all things Halloween and he stayed that way until he was about 6 or 7. I'd skip the Boo at the Zoo if I were you.

We discovered an awesome Asian restaurant last night, Asia at Boomtown casino, oh my word....amazing...Dungeness crab in a black bean sauce...
