Okay gang. DS and I are talking about renting a home or cottage in Tennessee for the Thanksgiving holiday with our gang. Have anyone of you been to TN?

I am actually planning a trip now for next summer. We will either stay in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg. I'm not sure if you've ever been there before but both towns are right next to one another. Good luck and it's really lots of fun looking at all the cabins. We are going with at least 8 people and possibly more. Until I get the final count I'm not sure if we need a four, five or six bedroom cabin. Since we went to Disney twice in fourteen months we are taking a break from there and going to our second family favorite destination............The Smokey Mountains.

Hey y'all!

As usual, I'm way behind here and need to catch up!

Just a quick check-in- my time is so limited now since DH went back to work (surprise, surprise). I've survived so far, but I literally don't stop from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed. Ugh, I'm tired. I'm trying to get everyone into a routine to save my sanity.

Oh, and if anyone is really bored and wants a little Disney boost, DH put a video of our 2003 WDW vacation on his FB page. It actually begins with Universal and then goes to WDW. It is a bit long- about 16 minutes, I think. The ending is my favorite, so skip to that if you don't want to watch the whole thing.

My friend just got back from a cute cabin in tennessee-I will ask her for you- I know she found it on VRBO and it was under $100 per night.

Morning everyone! It's the 2nd Monday of the week for me. I had to work yesterday as a trade day to get Thus off for a 4d weekend. Not fun, but I'm needing that 4 day break.

TONS of cabins available, as you've probably already seen from the good links that have already been posted. We used Sunset Cottages (actually based on some strong recommendations from DISboards), and were very happy. We ended up in a cabin on the strip btw Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg.

One thing to keep in mind - ask about location of the cabin in reference to immediate neighbors. The cabin we were in had neighbors along either side, but not so close that you could reach out & touch. No one to the rear because of the way it was built into the slope of the mountain. It's sometimes tricky to determine just how close the neighbors are based on pics posted on the websites.

One thing we noticed is some of the cabins are set up in developments like subdivisions that share a clubhouse / pool. That may or may not be something you want.

Has Jen been around lately? I know she LOVES TN (has IL's there, IIRC?), and may have some good references as well.

Um...sleeping in? I got up at 3....2 your time and hit the ground running. I finished packing the boxes and we are about to start taking them downstairs. The truck is supposed to come at noon my time.

I wish I could have slept in! Had to get to the gym early today, got tons of stuff going on this week. Auditor will be back in to finish it all up, Wednesday we'll be in Baton Rouge all day for family orientation at LSU which I'm really looking forward to but it's taking a whole day out of an already busy week.

We'll be spending July 4th at home grilling steaks & chicken. I've got some awesome recipes for a steak rub, chimichurri sauce and a roasted garlic & oregano vinaigrette for chicken that I can't wait to use again!!!!!

This time tomorrow I will have been in NOLA for 90 minutes!!
(This, of course, assumes the following: JFK is running on schedule, the plane does not have a power outage, they do not give the NOLA plane to Atlanta and give us a plane that needs screws tightened but maintenance cannot be found, etc...This is a BIG assumption!)

I'm sporting a nice new sunburn. I guess that's what happens when you don't own any sunblock.

well, I think we are going to do For Sale by Owner, and get the option that gives us an MLS #.

I just gotta stage this darn house and that is gonna be tough b/c we LIVE in it and my house, although clean, is a homey home that is lived in. I get told all the time how comfortable they feel here b/c it is homey and you can tell it is loved and that there is lots of love in it. It is not perfect,the only area in my home that is nice and show-worthy is my fireplace/mantle area!

My kids rooms, how in the world do you stage that?! We're gonna have to pack away toys and stuff.
