Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

I don't know about meeting up plans. I feel like I know very little at this point. Oh wait...that's because that's the reality. :lmao: Lemme just go to sleep before I go from making very little sense to none at all....

Speaking of camera tickets... we just got one from the Crecent City Connection from SEPT 2007 last week. What is worse, we always go pay our dollar when it happens, and that time, Sean was skeptical because they claimed the van was linked to the toll tag account so we were fine, after months went by, we figured maybe she knew what she was talking about, but a year and a half later? AHHHHH

Same thing keeps happening to us. We have always had a toll account and one october 2007 ticket has come back to us twice. Both times we explained that we have the same car and same tag...

I'm just glad Sienna didn't sit on the turtle the 2nd time around. ;)

I didn't go to my prom. My dad tried to make me, but honestly, how do you FORCE someone to go to a prom? And why would you?? :confused3

We need plans from piglet - I'm willing to bet we get better turn out with the aquarium than with the bugs - though I'm ashamed to admit I haven't been to the insectarium yet, I would do the Aquarium first in a heartbeat. And I'd do the Zoo over the Aquarium in half a heartbeat.

The parish is now tearing up my driveway (that they busted when they were "fixing" the street). The problem is I have an appraiser coming on Wednesday!:scared1: That's just peachy. So I'm gonna refinance. I've only been in the house a little over a year, but apparently I have a great cedit score and with the rates now I can get a rate of 4.3% :woohoo: That's $100 more Disney dollars a month. :rotfl: OR 5 less years on the mortgage. :thumbsup2 Yeah, that works better for me. I love Disney, but I love paying less interest and more principle even more.

So a friend of mine in Metairie tells me that there's going to be a new show on Discovery Health called "911 The Bronx". This would be great to watch ... if we HAD Discovery Health in The Bronx! Ohhh....the irony! :lmao:

Okay...here are my tentative plans for next weekend. Hopefully my power doesn't go out while I'm typing this....wind gusts are up to 57mph tonight.

Wed Apr 8...fly in late...hope weather is not evil...try not to get lost driving around in the dark (but I'm bringing Dumbeaux, my fantabulous GPS that is forever "recalculating" trying to keep up with me :rotfl:)
Thurs Apr 9....busy this day :rolleyes1
Friday Apr 10/Saturday April 11...these two days are interchangeable as far as plans go. One day will be the zoo and the other will be driving around and doing whatever. Are people meeting up this day?
Sun Apr 12...Easter...goin' to church then eatin' somethin', somewhere...
Mon April 13...talked with Jennifer...plan is currently meet for breakfast somewhere, then go to bug place like 10-12ish then aquarium from about 12:30 on. (Alternative would be to meet for dinner after aquarium closes at 5.) (from the Audubon website under "calendar": "April 13 Easter Monday All facilities open")
Tues April 14...Fly back to NY

So....big mystery is still the Friday/Saturday lunch/dinner question...

I need to pack tonight....so if you see me on here in the evening, tell me to scram! :rolleyes1

So right now it's 43 ("feels like" 36 :headache:) and going down. DOWN? :confused3 And we were told to be prepared for the "cloud rotation and the rain bands that will be passing through...some possibly with snow." WTH?!? :scared:

I have a few prom pics to post:

Good Morning and another chilly one at that.

Kathy what a gorgeous couple! Did they have a good time at Prom? I love her dress. Over here everyone wears a long dress. Much more choices out there is you could wear a short cocktail dress like hers. She is simply beautiful.

Off to Global wildlife today, super excited, we have never gone before.

How was it? I've only been there once but loved it.
We went to a petting zoo event at Whole Foods yesterday. It was the same petting zoo company that was at a birthday party we went to two years ago, so it was the same animals. So, I think this is pretty cool- DD took a picture with the same tortoise that she took a picture with two years ago:
Two years ago:

Look at how much bigger she is! And, a little FYI, the dress she was wearing yesterday is a Gymboree re-release of the same one she wore two years ago (the style is a little different)- what a coincidence!

Lorie how fun to see her at the same place and compare then and now. She is such a sweetie.

I am starting to get sick. This is NOT GOOD!

Oh :headache: no, I hope you feel better soon for your trip.

Today I'm going Easter shopping. I've already bought all the candy that I need but I also need fun stuff to go along with that for the baskets.

Good morning.

Kathy, beautiful pictures. Kyle is so handsome. I'll bet they had a great time. Nice looking group.:goodvibes

Lorie, Sienna is a beautiful child. Its unbelievable how much she's grown.

Sheryl, I guess I should count my blessings. I'll take the heat over the cold to watch the Lacrosse games:lmao:

It was tons of fun. I got to go to this high dollar ($5000/couple) black tie event - because a very sweet congressman gave us the tickets. I am not even in his district and can't even vote for him.

OK, I agree with Shovan - care to share what a $2500 meal tastes like?

Flora - where did y'all play Lacrosse this past weekend in BR? Funny, DH was asking just last weekend if there were any schools in the area that had lacrosse because of an ad in the paper featuring lacrosse equipment. I figured Catholic had to be one of the few that was big enough to field a team. Is there anybody else y'all have played here?

Kathy - Beautiful pics! I'm so glad the girls are choosing age-appropriate dresses ( that goes for Kelsie's group as well!)

Lorie- What a cool set of pics - same tortoise...no way! My gracious, she has grown. Too funny about the similar Gymbo dresses. OH, and not to be an enabler, but if you ever make it up this way, a Gymboree outlet opened last week at Tanger in Gonzales. I'm actually sad my boys are outgrowing their sizes. I'd usually only buy on clearance, but that stuf wore like iron!

shovan - Great news about A! Wishing for continued good progress.

jen - How was Global wildlife? Bet it was chilly. We've always had fun there. Kind of reminds me of the Safari @ AK without the hokie "save lil Red" story line. I'm headed to a u-pick strawberry farm tomorrow with DS2's class.

Cajunmommy, Jesuit played Catholic High on Sunday. I think this is the only team they have played from Baton Rouge. I'll check with hubby.

Tricia II, I'm glad your dad's okay from his fall. It is nice to see you back. You always have the funniest family stories.:)

GM Nola. Another chilly morning!

Kathy what a nice looking couple. :thumbsup2

Lori - girl Sienna is too cute....i like taking the same picture of daughter every year as well. It shows how much she has grow. :lovestruc

I think I am just about finished shopping for Easter basket stuff. Man I really spent alot of money on these darn kids. :rolleyes1

Lori, she's darling!!!!!

Kat, your son is very handsome!!!

We leave for the airport right after Rie gets out of school. This morning, I'm off the have the ultrasound that will tell me if I need surgery. If y'all don't mind, would you say a prayer or send good wishes that the implants are ok? Thanks!!!!

Oh, I love Gymboree, but I always buy it on ebay or on clearance- I can't afford it at regular retail price!

Just a little FYI for ya. There is a new Gymboree OUTLET at Tanger in Gonzales.
I had a field day there last week. Very good prices!!

MONDAY PLAN for Jack and I ---

Jack and I are coming in early to do breakfast with Bethany ( and Kristina i think) then hit the bugs for 10 am. I believe Bethany will attend the bugs but not 100%. I plan on doing that for a cpl of hours and then hopefully hit lunch at Port of Call and then home.

I would like to stay all day , but really dont want to be in the crazy late afternoon traffic out of the city.

Sheryl did you talk to A's mom about Monday yet?

It was fun, I would like to go back. Oh my it was soo cold and windy!!! It was colder out there than at home.
Lots of the kids didnt have jackets, we had kids crying it was a mess. The place made a mint off of parents buying sweatshirts. All the parents were digging in cars for towels and blankets and extra clothes. I think we finally got all 100 of the kids dressed lol.

We did have a big accident with about 5 of the parents .

One parent turned left into Global and didnt see a SUV coming in the other lane . The SUV hit the parent, flipped over it and hit 4 more cars all with parents in it. It was pretty bad, horrible for the people in the SUV but our parents came out for the most part ok. The people in the SUV were ejected, not sure of the status. Im really thankful our kids didnt see it, the buses had just turned in and so the kids missed the whole thing.

YES btw.. Im just answering as a read LOL.
