Metro New Orleans DISers - check in!!! - 03/2009

Awww, thanks! :goodvibes

That plant on the right in the 2nd picture (with the yellow stripe on the pot) started out as one leaf. I had sold my car and was at my friend's house before she took me to the airport to fly out here when I moved around Memorial Day in 2005. I was sad to be leaving, and I grabbed one leaf from her plant, put it in a ziplok bag with a wet paper towel and now it's getting pretty big!

Wow, one leaf! That's impressive. I LOVE the "rusted metal" looking pots. They have so much character.

My grandma made me some cuttings of her (amazing) climbing roses to plant along my 3 foot chain link fence in the back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I've never done anything from clippings before! :scared:

The Disneyland bush has SEVERAL buds on it. I'm guessing the next time it warms up it will be blooming. Keep an eye out for pics.

wow back from hannah montana movie...we survived. I am still firm in my decision to have Grayce remain an only child...movie was cool just the 2hour waiting was torture. for me. girls are SO CATTY. anyway, off to bed....

and I was just asked to lead the kids worship for Good Friday (a new thing for me)

and I am singing the National Anthem at the Zephyr's games on 4/25 and 5/5. (not new but first this season).

have a safe trip Piglet!!! see you Friday!

Thanks. :goodvibes Those metal pots came from Ikea.

The spider plant - the big one - was a clipping given to me from a parent at the end of the 06-07 school year. The two smaller ones were from clippings off that one. The spider plants were just in a cup of water until they grew some roots then I put them in dirt.

I can't wait to see the Disneyland bush!

Morning Y'all,

Tricia, That dinner sounds fabulous! I'm jealous!

Be careful around grocery store scooters!;)

Kristina, Glad you survived the movie! (Angelina is an only child too, Alexis is my surrogate. ;) Her Mom has to do the hard stuff like that!)

Jenny, Let me know your plans for Monday. Either pm me or on FB.

Kat, Still praying for Lauren & her family. I'm glad that she has you to lean on.

Angelina is doing okay. She had some bad leg pain yesterday & was a little upset about it, even though she knows she still needs a lot of healing time.

OMG it is snowing. Ack!

I officially do not believe the weather people anymore. 51 degrees?!? Yeah right!
At least I should be a weebit warmer tomorrow. Watch me show up tonight at MSY with mittens and scarf!

Lori

Lori, I saw the pics on FB. I mentioned how cute she was, but forgot to mention how impressed I am with her big heart! :lovestruc You have every reason to be very very proud parents! :thumbsup2How many inches did she cut off?

Hey Sheryl, sent you a message on the F.B. Dis was dragging for me this morning.

Yes Sheryl I have packed appropriate clothes for your predicted 80 degrees! But I still have to dress warm on this end. It's a 2 hour trek to the airport for me. I get the joy of changing trains at Times Square at rush hour!

thank you, I saw it! We are very proud of her. DH handled it much better than I expected!
She really is blessed with to die for hair-everyone comments on her curls, ringlets.... in fact the ponytail that I have to mail off is in 2 thick ringlets-how it dried. Ash said that we care more about her sisters hair then hers! She has donated already and will again by end of summer(she is trying out for Alice in Alice in Wonderland in drama camp this summer). We were like, "okay" and she fussed at us for being bad parents for liking Haley's hair better than hers-all in jest of course!:rotfl:She is inheriting a sarcastic edge from her daddy, of course!

Haley gave 10 inches! If you have curls, you can straighten it out to measure it. 10 inches is the least they'll take, I think.

Lori

Lori: That is so so sweet of Haley, she looks so cute! My sister had a wig but refused to wear it, but it was an old lady wig and platnium blond (she was a red head)... the wigs today are so much better!

Bethany: Have a safe trip, I will see ya later...

Today was a rough day for me workwise, I found out I am being reassigned to another area next year. After 6 years, I am very comfortable where I am, and I love what I do, however I have double the work of someone paid the same as me... and I do like where I am going so it couldve been much worse... I just don't like change, so I am working to wrap my head around it. What is more upsetting to me is the reason that I am being reassigned had nothing to do with me.

Kristina: LOL at the only child thing, of course I have three, but there are times I wonder what that would have been like. Especially when dealing with the fighting that happens amongst brothers.

I am enjoying this warmer weather! I hope everyone else is too!

Lori what a special thing Haley did donating her hair. She sure does have beautiful curls. She's such a sweetie.

I'm jumping on the Twlight Train today. I guess you could say the caboose since I'm probably one of the last ones to see it. Kelsie's friend rented it yesterday and they started watching it while I wasn't home. I didn't want to see the movie half over so I just didn't watch it. This morning I noticed it with a note asking me to return it so I popped it in as soon as the kids went to school. I haven't read the book so I really don't have anything to compare it to but I did like it.

Hi gang - i survived the insecterium today....EWW all i can say is BUGS, BUGS, BUGS.

Lori - you daughter is beautiful; i would too be very proud of her for foing such a unselfish thing!!!

Kristina - tell me more about the Hannah Montana movie...DD wants to see it.

hey terry - the movie actually had a lot of comedy as well as some pretty poignant parts that almost made me cry...I did kind of get into the story line at times, so it wasn't as bad as some of the regular shows have become...there is some attempts at "romance" going on...but always boy likes girl, girl likes boy no one can say it, hannah double life gets in the way. etc. hysterical bit with a ferret in one spot and hannah/miley trying to be 2 places at one time...didn't remember any spots I found objectionable (there is one spot where they are swinging off a rope into the creek and the boy had his shirt off...nothing else racy at all. I was surprised...not sure what else you looking for - interested in friday's lagniappe review...:confused3

Good morning NOLA. I'm here!

I did not leave the airport last night until midnight. Our plane was about 2 hours late leaving NY because when they turned the engine on, the power went out. They fixed that, then we were 15 in line to take off- after we had already been waiting awhile. Once we got off the ground the flight was fine! But I was beginning to wonder if we ever would get off the ground!

Have a great day!
